Chapter 247: Chapter 247

“I guess he still thinks he’s the Martial God.”

The elders sneered as they looked at Dan Woo-hyun.

At that mocking remark, chuckles and snickers resounded from all around.

“Indeed, I am no longer the Martial God…”

Dan Woo-hyun raised his sword.

A blue sharpness gathered on the sharp blade, and the sword hummed as if to devour the souls of the enemies before it, revealing its ferocious nature.

At that sound which shook their souls, the elders and guardians flinched and trembled.

It was a sound that made them recall that nightmarish day from a thousand years ago.

A cold sweat ran down.

They broke out in a cold sweat without realizing it.

Though they were smiling, it was proof that they still harbored fear toward the Martial God.

“I am but a father to a child.”

With those words, Dan Woo-hyun swung his sword.

Boom!

With a heavy sound, the ground burst open.

The gathered crowd lightly leaped to dodge, but the flying debris chased them as if it had eyes, eventually forcing them to reach out and deflect everything.

Swa-swa-swat!

Dan Woo-hyun did not miss that moment.

He closed the distance in an instant and grabbed an elder’s head.

The elder, caught in the blink of an eye, reached out to strike Dan Woo-hyun, but quicker than that, Dan Woo-hyun slammed the elder’s head into the ground.

Boom!

“Argh!”

Blood gushed from his mouth.

The elder’s face was horribly mangled as he gasped for breath.

It was merely a single move, but the power that transcended logic felt as if it would crush his very soul.

Slash!

“Aaack!”

Dan Woo-hyun’s sword cut the fallen elder from his crotch to the top of his head.

Even as intestines spilled out and blood sprayed, Dan Woo-hyun’s indifferent expression was like a butcher dressing a dead beast, evoking even greater horror.

Slash!

In an instant, one of the elders breathed his last.

Seeing that, the remaining people opened their eyes wide. The situation had clearly unfolded right before them, but why were they unable to stop him or counterattack?

However, their contemplation did not last long.

Swish!

It was because Dan Woo-hyun’s figure suddenly vanished.

There was nothing more shocking than the person right before their eyes disappearing in an instant.

“Ugh?!”

But this time, the guardian standing on the far left opened his eyes wide in surprise.

It was because Dan Woo-hyun had appeared right under his nose before he knew it.

The moment he tried to dodge in fright, Dan Woo-hyun’s hand violently grabbed his head.

Slash!

The sword piercing through his chest granted the guardian death.

Everyone present was astonished by the rapid technique that was absolutely impossible to block or even evade.

“T-This is impossible! How can this be!”

Dam Chu-mak, the First Elder of the Blood Demon Cult, shouted in panic. In the blink of an eye, a guardian and an elder had been taken down.

Until just moments ago, they had firmly believed that no matter how great the Martial God was, he would not be able to face them after they had grown even stronger through the grand ritual.

Yet, how did such a disaster happen?

“What are you doing! The opponent is but one person!”

Although they could not reach a conclusion to that question, it did not change what they had to do right now.

Since none of them could handle him alone, they had to launch an all-out attack to kill him.

Even Dan Woo-hyun would not be able to avoid this.

Rumble!

Palm force and sword qi, all the power they possessed, gathered at a single point and made a tremendous noise.

The explosion rang so loudly that their ears buzzed, and with every clash of their moves, the violent tremors shook the ground like an earthquake.

Thick dust rose from all directions, even obscuring the sky.

The power unleashed simultaneously by the top experts of the Blood Demon Cult was, if not enough to kill the Martial God, at least sufficient to wound him severely.

However.

A presence was detected inside the dust cloud where nothing could be seen.

A faint shadow appeared, cutting through the thick dust.

The moment they recognized it, the guardians and elders got goosebumps as if they had seen an evil spirit.

As the shadow swung his sword horizontally in a wide arc.

Slice!

The body of the Ninth Elder was cut in half, and the sword qi that extended simultaneously split the head of the guardian standing behind him.

Spurt!

Blood splattered in all directions.

But they had no time to just watch.

Dan Woo-hyun, revealing himself once again in the darkness, pierced through the dust and grabbed the hand of the man standing at the very front.

“Ugh!?”

Just as the flustered man quickly tried to pull his hand back.

Crack!

“Aaack!”

His arm was ripped off.

Even as he heard the scream of the man writhing in pain, Dan Woo-hyun’s revealed face was filled with laughter, as if something were highly amusing.

He covered the mouth of the screaming Seventh Elder with his hand and exerted force.

Crush!

The face shattered hideously.

Dan Woo-hyun’s overwhelming appearance, without a single scratch on him, was so terrifying that it was hard to believe he was a fellow human.

“You are nothing much.”

At those casually tossed words, First Elder Dam Chu-mak realized reality.

He trembled violently, feeling deep in his bones the reality he never wanted to believe.

On that day a thousand years ago, the Blood Demon and all the leaders were killed by just one person, the Martial God.

Although he was the Martial God Dan Woo-hyun, who had revealed his power to the world by destroying the Blood Demon Cult overnight, even that had not been his full strength.

“Just how strong are you!”

“Well… I am not too sure myself…”

Everyone felt a chill at Dan Woo-hyun’s snorting attitude.

It was no exaggeration to call it one-sided, but even while they did their best in their own way, Dan Woo-hyun’s breathing did not waver in the slightest.

Unless one were a fool, how could they not know what that meant?

Even now, Dan Woo-hyun was not showing his true capabilities.

“Are we close enough to share words?”

Dan Woo-hyun took a step forward, as if telling them not to waste time.

His wind gathering around him began to move violently.

It carried a power that seemed ready to wrap around and blow away the entire world.

Those present knew very well what that wind was. Because they had been torn to pieces and killed by that very wind.

The wind of death that belonged solely to Dan Woo-hyun.

That wind was indeed Dan Woo-hyun’s signature technique.

“Evade!”

Rumble!

A wind rougher than a storm swept through in all directions. The buildings in the path of the wind shattered so completely that not a trace could be found, leaving only fine powder scattered behind.

Dam Chu-mak stared at the spot with a panicked look.

Not only the pavilion, but even the elders and guardians who had been standing there had vanished.

It had become an empty plain, as if nothing had existed there from the beginning.

The violent trembling did not subside.

At that moment, someone’s hand reached in.

Startled, Dam Chu-mun instinctively unleashed palm force.

Boom!

Rather, it was Dam Chu-mun who was sent flying backward.

Dan Woo-hyun, who stood tall in the spot where he had been before they knew it, did not seem affected in the least.

Slash!

“Ugh!”

Feeling a burning pain, Dam Chu-mun looked down at his chest. A long, deep sword wound was visible.

If he had been even a moment later in backing away, he would have ascended Mount Bukmang in vain just like the others.

Swallowing his groan, Dam Chu-mun gnashed his teeth and shouted at the remaining survivors.

“What are you… do… ing…?”

And then, freezing like a stone statue, he could not finish his sentence.

It was because the remaining survivors collapsed one by one.

The sight of them collapsing while spurting blood from their entire bodies did not even look like a joke.

The pillars supporting the Blood Demon Cult were dying in vain once again.

Their very souls shattered, having sustained damage impossible to recover from, they did not make a single movement.

In the center of it all, Dan Woo-hyun stood proudly.

Having drenched his entire body in blood before they knew it, he smirked. The moment they saw that, their terror-stricken bodies trembled madly.

“H… How could the Blood Demon Cult, which we rebuilt… once… once again…”

The name of the Martial God, which was strong enough to cause shivers.

They had firmly believed that this time they would surpass him and achieve the reign of the Blood Demon Cult once more, but they vanished in vain, blocked yet again by the disaster known as the Martial God.

“Heh… heh… but it will never end. We will again…”

“You will not be resurrected. Never again.”

Dan Woo-hyun’s eyes flashed savagely, warning them not to even dream of it.

At those words, Dam Chu-mak’s eyes trembled.

Even though they had not thought that he could defeat the Blood Demon no matter how much of a Martial God he was, seeing that firm expression brought an inexplicable anxiety creeping in.

Therefore, he rushed forward in great anger.

“Don’t be ridiculous! How dare someone like you think you can be a match for him! This time, you will be the one to lose, Martial God!”

Roar!

He ran while shouting wildly at Dan Woo-hyun, as if to shake off the anxiety in his heart.

A strike that even drew upon his origin true qi flew in.

Rumble!

A colossal power was unleashed, enough to gouge the ground, but Dan Woo-hyun escaped the range simply by shifting his body slightly.

Slice!

“Ugh!”

Soon, he cut off Dam Chu-mak’s arm.

The severed arm soared high into the sky.

Dam Chu-mak stared blankly at his severed arm.

At that moment, Dan Woo-hyun’s sword moved once again.

Slash!

At the same time he felt the unpleasant sensation of his chest being sliced open, he saw Dan Woo-hyun’s face wearing a smirk.

Slice!

Dam Chu-mak’s consciousness, with his head cut off, was cut short there.

The head that flew high fell to the floor with a thud!

Dan Woo-hyun casually shook the bloodstains off his sword and turned his head.

“Did I not tell you to stay?”

There stood Jang Sam-tae, who had been hiding and watching the situation. Startled, he stepped forward making a big fuss.

“A… No, that is… somehow…”

“Did you come to try and hit me?”

“No… that is not the case, but…”

Jang Sam-tae broke out in a cold sweat.

All the thoughts he had when leaving the inn had completely vanished.

The tremendous spectacle that unfolded before his eyes occupied his mind, leaving no room to think about anything else.

Even…

‘The Martial God? The Martial God?’

That single word from the dead man’s mouth confused Jang Sam-tae.

‘Not some descendant of the Martial God… but the Martial God himself? From a thousand years ago…?’

Jang Sam-tae swallowed hard and looked at Dan Woo-hyun, but lacking the confidence to face that utterly indifferent gaze, he turned his head away.

Eventually.

‘Then he’s a complete old geezer?!’
