Chapter 2251: Void Observation Branch
At the same time Xuan Hao set off from the Star Shattering Sect in the direction of the Yellow Peak Region of the Western Central Region, far off in the Southern Central Region, within the splendid halls of a large, serene church, an older woman lifted her head in surprise. Frowning as her gaze shifted away from the divine silhouetted carved out of divine crystals before her. “A disturbance in the Yellow Peak Region? What does that small region have to do with our Church of the Undying Sun?” Voicing out her thoughts on the matter that had just been conveyed to her by the now trembling young man who had been kneeling behind her.
And faced with this older woman now shifting her full attention towards him, the younger man, a senior figure in his own right whose strength was in no way inferior to someone at the Land Creation Realm. Trembled like a leaf blown by the wind. Kneeling even more deeply as he continued speaking. “Your Holiness, this isn’t a matter, I bring to your attention lightly! The ancient formation in the Yellow Peak Region. The one that has remained inaccessible in the past. Is about to collapse!”
“The one set up by an elder from the Mirage Sect Void Observation Branch!?”
“Yes, from the information we have gathered so far, it should be that one.”
“That… Good, I will set out immediately. If that formation truly collapses, we might get a chance to get our hands on some of the void maps created by that elder from the Mirage Sect, who knows, we might even learn about other secret realms or mystic realms that was once under the control of the mirage Sect!”
Whoosh~
True to her words, after she said this, the old woman who had been standing before the divine statute wasted no time in rushing off towards the Western Central Region.
Sure, there existed a certain unspoken agreement between the monks from the Western Central Region and the different powers from the Southern Central Region that neither side would allow someone too strong to enter the other sides borders, but in reality, this unspoken agreement wasn’t really something that was enforced by the major powers from the Southern Central Region.
It was just that the Western Central Region normally wasn’t worth the trouble that would come with them entering that place.
But… With an ancient formation set up by an elder of one of the most mysterious branches of the ancient Mirage Sect, a once dominant power in the ancient era that had killed off no small number of gods during the ancient war that had erupted and ultimately shattered the ancient divine continent, there was no way the different major powers who learnt about it would be able to sit still.
The only reason why the ancient formation had been ignored in the past had to do with the simple fact that it was simply too profound and impossible to break with force, as even the Nine Core Faiths had attempted but failed to break the ancient formation back then.
Not just that, but the Nine Core Faiths attempt back then had resulted in them suffering a backlash that had been witnessed by everyone who had been around greedily eyeing whatever was hidden inside the ancient formation.
A backlash that had terrified everyone into retreating. Including the people from the Nine Core Faiths- or rather, the few that had managed to survive the backlash from the ancient formation.
…
“The ancient formation is finally starting to break apart!?”
“Haha, finally, this old man will have an opportunity to see just what the elder from the Void Observation Branch was trying to hide!”
“Damnit, why did that formation have to break now of all times!? If I leave my kingdom now, those fellows will undoubtedly take advantage of the chaos to wipe it out while I’m gone!”
“Curse it! Why now of all times!?”
“Couldn’t this formation have waited another few years before breaking?”
And while the older woman belonging to the Church of the Undying Sun had been able to set off immediately upon learning of the news thanks to the Church of the Undying Sun not only being close to the Western Central Region, but also one of the strongest forces beneath the Nine Core Faiths with power even above that of the Myriad Treasure Hall on the Ewaria Continent. Many more were finding it difficult to set off towards the Yellow Peak Region unless they bordered the Western Central Region.
The reason behind this obviously being the current chaotic state of the Southern Central Region, as no one could say for certain that leaving would end up with those beneath them being swept up in the chaos of region. Reduced to ashes by the time they returned.
Sure, some might not care much about those beneath them and would be more than willing to leave them behind for an opportunity to grow stronger.
But…
The main powers across the Southern Central Region were made up of different religious powers that couldn’t afford to see their spheres of influence shrink and the faith provided through these spheres of influence reduced, as that would end up angering the gods behind them. The very beings from which they derived most of their strength.
Sure, the empires and kingdoms across the Southern Central Region still followed the traditional immortal cultivation path, but they were ultimately tied together with the different religious powers. Making it difficult for them to carelessly give up territory to other empires and kingdoms, as it would jeopardize these relationships that had been established with the different religious powers.
In other words, for most, it was difficult to leave for the Western Central Region even if they wanted to, with only a few of the strongest powers having the strength to spare or those closest to the Western Central Region being able to have people go to check out on the collapsing formation in the Yellow Peak Region.
