Chapter 449: Void Harmony

“Open!”

Xu Sanyan threw his head back and roared, causing countless strands of blood qi to surge violently. The crimson light screen shimmered, and a massive hole suddenly appeared in its center. Blood qi billowed upward, erupting from the opening like a swarm of bees.

The blood rain, carried by the blood qi, reversed its descent and flew back into the sky. The lingering clouds, tainted by the blood qi, gradually changed color.

In the distance, Sun Yingtang watched intently as the scarlet blood qi rose like wolf smoke, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

Xu Sanyan soared into the air, merging with the blood qi as he shot through the hole and ascended into the heavens.

Boom!

A thunderous roar shook the heavens and earth, its deep rumble like the pounding of war drums, striking fiercely against the blood qi wolf smoke.

Bang!

A large portion of the blood qi dispersed, leaving a gaping hole that was quickly replenished by the surging mass.

Boom!

The thunder grew more intense, ten thousand silver serpents danced wildly across the horizon, and patches of blood qi vanished into the air. Xu Sanyan’s expression remained unchanged as he continued his ascent.

Today was the day he would achieve void harmony. No one could stop him!

The colossal spectacle drew countless eyes. Those unaware of the true nature of the event mistook it for another heavenly tribulation and began fleeing in panic.

Xu Sanyan paid them no heed, ascending into the sky amidst the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke.

The Blood Qi Wolf Smoke could both taint the heavenly dao and shield him from the effects of heavenly thunder.

With a thought, Xu Sanyan channeled his cultivation method with full force. Spiritual power surged through the meridians of the Dao-Seizing Vitality Origin Sutra within his body, flowing like a raging river, unstoppable and relentless.

Void harmony, it was said, required the unification of body and mind, mind and Vitality, Vitality and spirit, all four merging into one.

Qi Refinement, qi absorption, and becoming a celestial being constituted the cultivation of the body.

Foundation Establishment cultivated Vitality, Dao Seeking cultivated the mind, and Soul Refinement cultivated the spirit.

Xu Sanyan had long since reached the Peak Stage, his being flawless and complete. Had he not sought to achieve the ultimate void harmony, he could have broken through much earlier.

But it was not too late now!

“Break!!”

Enveloped in the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke, Xu Sanyan was bathed in crimson energy. Dark, ominous clouds gathered overhead. His eyes snapped open, pupils glowing with a blood-red light.

In an instant, the blood rain intensified, its crimson torrents washing over the Great Formation, gradually fading its colors. Yet the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke burned even more fiercely, its crimson flames blazing with renewed intensity.

The storm clouds overhead were completely dyed crimson. As Xu Sanyan spoke, the red clouds split apart, revealing a golden light as dazzling as the scorching sun!

The power of the Heavenly Dao!

“He’s about to break through to void harmony!” Sun Yingtang exclaimed in shock, belatedly realizing that Xu Sanyan had painstakingly set up the Great Formation for this very purpose.

“What?!”

Jiang Yan was undoubtedly the most stunned. He vividly recalled their first meeting, when their cultivation levels had been nearly equal. How could Xu Sanyan now be on the verge of achieving void harmony?

Had the gap between them truly grown so vast?

Xu Sanyan gazed up at the golden light behind the clouds. It resembled both a celestial river and a golden thread, its flowing radiance revealing countless intricate and profound runes, each radiating an extraordinary mystique.

This was the path Xu Sanyan had cultivated—the Heaven-Seizing Dao!

Staring at this heavenly dao, Xu Sanyan’s eyes burned with excitement and greed. If he could refine this dao, all his arduous efforts would have been worth it.

Others who achieved void harmony could only borrow a sliver of the Heavenly Dao’s power, its potency limited and subject to its control.

But if Xu Sanyan succeeded, he would refine the Heavenly Dao for his own use—this was the crucial difference, and the very purpose of his Blood Sacrifice of All Living Beings!

As his thoughts raced, the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke surged forward as if guided, converging on the golden Heavenly River. Countless strands of blood qi rushed like moths to a flame, dissolving into golden light as they approached the Heavenly Dao.

Yet the crimson smoke seemed inexhaustible, surging forward in relentless waves, gradually eroding and compressing the Heavenly Dao’s golden radiance.

It was like two armies clashing: the Heavenly Dao defending, while the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke launched a frenzied assault.

Surrounded on all sides, the golden Heavenly River began to shrink its defensive perimeter. The Blood Qi Wolf Smoke, seizing the advantage, intensified its offensive.

Before long, the golden light was completely consumed, revealing the Heavenly Dao’s true form:

A colossal mark, its surface teeming with countless runes.

Like a child’s casual stroke, utterly spontaneous yet radiating profound mystery.

This was the pinnacle of creation!

For a moment, only one thought filled Xu Sanyan’s mind:

Perfect. Flawless.

This single stroke was the Heavenly Dao itself!

The Blood Qi Wolf Smoke, however, paid no heed to these considerations, continuing its relentless assault on the mark.

This crimson miasma was not merely composed of blood qi; it also contained the lingering resentment of countless souls who had met tragic ends, along with the stubbornly persistent aura of death. It was this confluence of malevolent energies that formed the Wolf Smoke.

Yet the heavenly dao proved remarkably resistant to corruption, like a stubborn boulder in a raging river. No matter how fiercely the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke surged against it, the mark remained unchanged.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Xu Sanyan began to grow anxious. Finally, near the tail of the heavenly dao, he detected a faint alteration: a tiny speck of dark crimson had appeared on the originally golden mark.

The change was minuscule, barely discernible without close scrutiny, but it sent Xu Sanyan into a frenzy of joy. At last, his efforts were bearing fruit! He saw a glimmer of hope.

With this initial breakthrough, the rest would follow. As the saying goes, “The hardest part is the beginning.” Once the barrier between zero and one had been breached, the remaining progress would merely be a matter of time.

The Blood Qi Wolf Smoke continued its relentless assault. The crimson speck gradually expanded, and the golden river suspended in the heavens began to seem as distant as a flower reflected in water or the moon mirrored in a well—visible yet unattainable.

Now, the crimson-stained fragment seemed to have broken through the dimensional barrier, falling from the mirror like a corner torn from reality, making it feel even more tangible.

“Heh heh heh… HAHAHAHA…”

Xu Sanyan’s maniacal laughter distorted his face as he stared skyward, bellowing, “It’s done! I’ve done it!”

Unable to contain his excitement, Xu Sanyan charged through the Blood Qi Wolf Smoke toward the mark, seizing it with his bare hand.

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

Feeling the solid object in his grasp, Xu Sanyan’s madness intensified.

The Soul-Gathering Brilliance-Preserving Grand Formation didn’t deceive me! The four immortals didn’t deceive me! This method truly works!

Abandoning all caution, Xu Sanyan forcibly suppressed his inner turmoil and frantically channeled his spiritual power to refine the mark—the fragment of the heavenly dao severed from this world.

The blood rain continued to fall, though in much smaller quantities than before.

The rampaging lightning had ceased, with only occasional flashes of light remaining.

The Blood Qi Wolf Smoke still billowed, though at a significantly reduced pace compared to its earlier intensity.

The heavenly dao mark continued to flicker in the sky, but over half of it had already been stained crimson.

The Great Formation beneath their feet, eroded by the blood rain, teetered on the brink of collapse. Everything seemed to be drawing to a close.

Sun Yingtang stood frozen, staring at the stripped-away heavenly dao with a complex mix of emotions. He couldn’t quite grasp what he was witnessing.

He had never imagined that the heavenly dao could be forcibly separated!

Xu Sanyan, too, was astonished by how easily the heavenly dao could be refined.

The true challenge, it turned out, lay not in the refinement process itself, but in making contact with the heavenly dao in the first place.

As the Wolf Smoke extinguished and the last traces of blood qi dissipated, the Great Formation crumbled instantly.

Simultaneously,

the blood rain ceased, and the lightning vanished.

The golden light of the heavenly dao completely transformed in color, instantly merging into Xu Sanyan’s body.

From that moment onward, the world would lack one of its heavenly daos.

“Aaaah!!”

A thunderous roar echoed across the heavens, brimming with boundless ecstasy and satisfaction.

Thus, void harmony was achieved!
