Chapter 459: Xu Sanyan, Holy Son of the Harmonious Heart Demonic Sect

Song Zhizhi, the senior sister of the Myriad Blossom Sword Sect, frowned slightly, her face showing displeasure as she glanced at Xu Sanyan. What an arrogant fool! she thought. He has no manners whatsoever. Everyone else is standing, yet he sits alone. Who is he trying to impress?

The other women at the banquet table also cast sidelong glances at Xu Sanyan, their thoughts mirroring Song Zhizhi’s. Their disdain for him deepened.

Xu Sanyan, however, remained oblivious to their opinions, facing away from the entrance as he sipped his wine. Not bad, he mused. It has a pleasant, slightly sweet taste.

Yue Shanhe noticed the scene and felt a pang of alarm. What’s wrong with Brother Xu? he worried. If Grandfather sees this, he’ll think I’m neglecting my duties and associating with shady characters.

Gathering his qi into a thin thread, Yue Shanhe sent a telepathic message: “Brother Xu, stand up quickly! Elder Lu of the Lu Clan has arrived.”

Before Xu Sanyan could react, Lu Wanzhe, whose eyes darted nervously around the room, frowned deeply. Her gaze locked onto Xu Sanyan’s back, her mind racing.

That back… it looks so familiar…

Where have I seen it before?

Lu Wanzhe slowly pondered, gradually aligning the figure with a memory in her mind. She swallowed hard and whispered, “Brother… that person looks so familiar…”

Lu Wang followed his sister’s gaze, his eyes piercing through the gaps in the crowd to settle on the figure’s back. He seemed to realize something too, his pupils slowly widening.

The Yue Clan Patriarch, noticing the siblings’ fixed stares, couldn’t resist turning his head to look. He saw a man drinking alone, completely ignoring the crowd—utterly disrespectful.

A surge of anger rose in his heart. Whose disciple is this, so utterly lacking in manners?

Yue Shanhe grew increasingly anxious as Xu Sanyan ignored his telepathic messages. He regretted inviting him, knowing it would only diminish his standing in his grandfather’s eyes.

Lu Wanzhe’s vision narrowed, focusing solely on that figure. As the image grew larger in her mind, her voice trembled as she whispered, “Brother… could that be Xu…?”

By now, the Lu Clan elder had noticed the siblings’ strange behavior. He frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Lu Wang had naturally heard of Xu Sanyan’s deeds, but he refused to believe it could be such a coincidence—that he would encounter this malevolent star in such a remote place.

The atmosphere in the hall suddenly fell into an eerie silence. The three members of the Lu Clan stared at Xu Sanyan’s back, and the Yue Clan Patriarch followed their gaze, drawing everyone’s attention to the scene.

“Brother Xu…” Yue Shanhe’s voice trembled slightly, clinging to a sliver of hope. It couldn’t be… Could such a severe consequence really stem from simply failing to stand up to greet him? Are the Lu Family truly so petty?

The Myriad Blossom Sword Sect woman seated at the same table cast a mocking glance at Xu Sanyan. Heh… Serves you right for acting so high and mighty. Let’s see how you handle this now.

Clink!

Xu Sanyan gently placed the wine flask on the table, rose to his feet, smoothed his robes, and slowly turned around. His gaze locked directly onto Lu Wang, a gentle smile spreading across his lips.

Boom!

Like a thunderbolt from a clear sky, the realization struck Lu Wang with devastating force, shattering the last vestiges of his delusion.

It was him!

It really was him!

He would never forget that face!

“Xu… San… Yan…”

Lu Wanzhe spoke slowly, each word deliberate, her fingers trembling uncontrollably. A pitch-black vortex seemed to swirl in her eyes, countless ghostly figures howling and struggling behind her, as if hell itself had manifested on earth.

“Xu Sanyan?”

The Lu Clan elder’s heart tightened at Lu Wanzhe’s whisper. He asked incredulously, “Which Xu Sanyan?”

Before Lu Wang could answer, Xu Sanyan spoke softly, introducing himself, “I am Xu Sanyan, holy son of the Harmonious Heart Demonic Sect. Greetings to you all.”

To prevent any misunderstanding, he added, “Oh, you know, the notorious demonfolk of the Demonic Path—the one born without an anus, who somehow survived being struck by heavenly thunder.”

With that, he gave Lu Wang a pointed greeting. “Brother Lu, long time no see.”

Lu Wang seemed to snap out of his daze, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace. “Brother Xu, what are you doing here?”

When Lu Wang personally confirmed that this man was indeed Xu Sanyan, everyone felt as if the sky had collapsed. The air instantly became deathly still, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

How could this be?

How could Xu Sanyan be here?

Shouldn’t he be fleeing for his life, hunted by the Qian Kingdom?

How dare he show his face so brazenly?

The most shocked were Yue Shanhe and the women of the Myriad Blossom Sword Sect.

Yue Shanhe could never have imagined that the random person he’d pulled off the street was the infamous holy son of the demonic sect—Xu Sanyan, the man who had orchestrated the blood sacrifice of five cities!

Yue Shanhe didn’t know how to feel. He felt like he was already dead. Even if Xu Sanyan didn’t kill him, the others certainly wouldn’t spare him.

Song Zhizhi was in utter chaos, as if she still couldn’t believe her ears.

Are you saying that the man who just swore to grind Xu Sanyan’s bones to dust and tear his soul to shreds… is Xu Sanyan himself?

Are you saying that while we were cursing Xu Sanyan, he was sitting right here, listening, and even chiming in with agreement?

Song Zhizhi found the joke utterly unfunny.

The Yue Clan Patriarch shared her sentiment, even finding the banquet somewhat superfluous.

Xu Sanyan smiled calmly. “Please, everyone, don’t mind me. Continue the banquet as planned. Brother Liu, if you don’t mind, would you join me at my table? It’s rare to encounter an acquaintance like this—we should catch up.”

Xu Sanyan then turned to Lu Wanzhe. “Oh, and Miss Liu, we’ve met a few times before. Please join us as well.”

Lu Wang glanced at the Lu Clan elder, his eyes filled with despair. Their elder had only reached the Perfected Soul Refinement stage—no match for Xu Sanyan. Even escape seemed impossible.

Huff…

Lu Wang took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing his racing heart. Since there was no use in fearing the inevitable, he decided to face it with composure. Even in death, he would maintain his dignity.

“Brother Xu’s invitation is one I dare not refuse,” Lu Wang said, quickly regaining his composure and gracefully taking a seat beside Xu Sanyan.

Lu Wanzhe looked at her brother with pleading eyes, desperate to avoid sitting near Xu Sanyan.

Lu Wang, gathering his courage, said, “My sister wishes to seek out her close friend. Perhaps I could accompany Brother Xu instead?”

“Heh, naturally,” Xu Sanyan nodded.

Those who knew Xu Sanyan understood he was actually quite reasonable and not particularly bloodthirsty. Why these people feared him so much remained a mystery.

“Don’t just stand there, everyone. Take your seats,” Xu Sanyan waved his hand.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a figure leaped over the wall, fleeing like a shooting star into the distance with incredible speed.

Lu Wang pressed his lips together and shook his head helplessly. These people clearly had no understanding of the void harmony realm, yet they dared to imagine they could escape from someone at that level?

Bang!

The distant figure exploded in mid-air, dissolving into a crimson mist that vanished without a trace, leaving no corpse behind.

Xu Sanyan calmly withdrew his hand, raised his cup in a toast, and said, “I’m a man who loves company. Why don’t you all stay and keep me entertained?”

Yue Shanhe froze. This line sounded eerily familiar. Hadn’t he said something similar yesterday when inviting Xu Sanyan to join him?
