Chapter 110: Divine Judgment, the Spear of Certain Death

“Fine by me. There’s no point talking to them anyway!” Vivi shot back immediately.

At the center of the battlefield, Nolan bore the overwhelming majority of the pressure head-on.

Again and again, his greatsword collided violently against the enemy’s lance, each impact numbing his hands further. Even though the gray-armored warrior fought with little tactical structure, their sheer strength, speed, and terrifying combat experience forced Nolan onto the defensive most of the time.

Meanwhile, Little Donnie charged around the battlefield like a fearless bulldog, constantly attacking from the flanks to relieve some of the burden on Nolan.

Most of his strikes were casually deflected, but his relentless, reckless aggression still managed to disrupt the gray-armored warrior to some extent.

Vivi became a phantom drifting across the battlefield. Relying on her speed and agility, she continuously shifted positions, searching for fleeting openings that vanished in an instant.

Protected by Vivi and Little Donnie, Renee remained at the rear, constantly harassing the enemy with earth-element spells and battlefield control in an attempt to restrict their movements.

And Romina served as the team’s most reliable source of ranged firepower. Her near-divine archery always delivered the deadliest arrow at the most critical moment, repeatedly rescuing her companions from danger.

Under immense pressure, their coordination became smoother and more seamless with every passing second.

Even so, all they had managed to achieve was a fragile stalemate.

“This won’t work,” Nolan muttered through gritted teeth as exhaustion spread through his aching arms.

The battle had already lasted ten full minutes, yet the enemy’s attacks had not weakened in the slightest. Meanwhile, everyone on their side was rapidly burning through stamina.

They needed to break the deadlock.

While continuing to withstand the gray-armored warrior’s relentless assault, Nolan finally decided to stop holding back.

Aura of Piety!

Aura of Conviction!

Two golden rings burst outward from Nolan simultaneously, rippling across the battlefield and enveloping every ally.

A warm yet powerful force flooded into their bodies, instantly revitalizing their exhausted minds while significantly enhancing both attack and defense.

“Push harder! End this quickly!”

Nolan intensified his assault, charging directly toward the opponent whose speed had slowed under the effects of Gravitational Crush.

Under the amplification of Nolan’s two powerful auras, the tide of battle finally began to shift.

“Their combat experience is too overwhelming! Don’t clash with them head-on!” Nolan barked while forcing the enemy back with his greatsword. “Vivi, Donnie, focus on disrupting their rhythm! Renee, block their movement with earth walls! Romina, target the joints whenever you see an opening!”

Nolan himself carried the heaviest burden. He alone absorbed nearly eighty percent of the gray-armored warrior’s attacks.

The greatsword and lance collided over and over again, their deafening impacts reverberating throughout the entire hall.

Even with the two auras empowering him, Nolan still felt crushing pressure.

The enemy’s spear technique was simply too refined. Their attacks appeared broad and forceful, yet every movement concealed countless subtle variations. Several times, they nearly pierced through Nolan’s defense and struck the companions behind him.

Little Donnie could feel his stamina recovering rapidly. Vivi found her body lighter and faster than before. Renee and Romina both felt their minds sharpen as their spellcasting and firing speeds increased noticeably.

For the first time, the gray-armored warrior seemed slightly overwhelmed by the sudden escalation. Tiny flaws finally began appearing in their defense.

“Now!”

Nolan seized the opportunity instantly.

With a roar, golden flames erupted along the blade of his greatsword as he activated Divine Infusion. A devastating slash crashed toward the opening in the enemy’s chest.

Yet just before the strike landed, the gray-armored warrior made a completely unexpected decision.

They ignored the attack entirely. Instead of evading, they deliberately took the blow head-on with their chest armor.

CLANG! The greatsword slammed into the breastplate with explosive force, sparks bursting everywhere. A deep slash mark carved across the armor, but only then did everyone realize the truth.

They had not tanked the attack. They had used the impact itself to propel themself backward.

Despite the spectacular collision, the damage dealt was minimal.

Nolan’s expression changed instantly. They’re trying to create distance!

As the battle dragged on, the gray-armored warrior seemed to lose patience with the exchange of weapon skill and brute force. They dodged Vivi’s dagger strike from behind, then smoothly twisted aside to avoid Romina’s triple-arrow volley. Next, exploiting the narrow gap between Little Donnie’s downward slash and Renee’s summoned stone spear, they suddenly stepped backward before explosively launching themself into the air.

Silver translucent wings spread open behind them. They hovered high above the battlefield. An aura even more terrifying than before erupted from their body. The surrounding air froze.

Romina’s enchanted arrows curved away before even reaching within a meter of them, deflected by an invisible vortex of violently rotating wind.

Slowly, the gray-armored warrior raised their silver lance. The spear tip lowered. Their crimson eyes locked onto Vivi.

Nolan’s heart dropped. He recognized that stance instantly.

Divine Judgment.

More commonly known as…

The Spear of Certain Death.

Once locked onto by this technique, any target whose absolute power level was lower than the caster’s could neither dodge nor block it.

As the gray-armored warrior’s aura continued to rise, the air around them twisted violently into a visible vortex. The moment those crimson eyes fixed upon her, every hair on Vivi’s body stood on end. A primal terror surged from the depths of her soul, freezing her in place. She felt like prey caught beneath the gaze of a supreme predator. No matter where she ran, she knew escape was impossible.

“Vivi! Move!” Renee screamed.

But Vivi understood immediately. There was nowhere to run. That suffocating sensation, as though fate itself had wrapped fingers around her throat, made it clear that any attempt to evade would be meaningless.

Everything happened too quickly. From the gray-armored warrior’s leap, to their lock-on, to the energy gathering within the silver lance, only three to five seconds had passed. The elegant knightly weapon had transformed completely. The air around its tip compressed to the limit, emitting a shrill, overloaded hum.

Vivi could only watch as the silver-white lance gradually turned into a pale cyan color brimming with destructive power.

“Harvey’s Stone Shield!”

In her desperation, Renee unleashed astonishing potential. Forcefully interrupting another spell mid-cast, she relied on her extraordinary affinity with the elements to instantly cast a fourth-circle elemental resonance without chanting: Harvey’s Stone Shield.

A colossal shield of solid rock, half a meter thick, erupted from the ground before Vivi.

But it was useless.

BOOM! The cyan streak tore through like a falling meteor. The massive stone shield exploded apart instantly, pierced through without the slightest resistance.

Then came another sharp explosion. A radiant golden arrow streaked through the air and collided perfectly with the cyan spear of death.

It was Romina’s ultimate technique: Godhunter Pursuit. That single arrow contained every ounce of her strength and willpower. It was the strongest shot she could currently unleash. The arrowhead and lance tip collided violently, detonating into a shower of dazzling sparks.

Yet the stalemate lasted only an instant. The specially crafted enchanted armor-piercing arrow split cleanly in half.

Even so, Renee and Romina’s desperate interception was not meaningless. After smashing through two layers of defense, the cyan streak slowed ever so slightly.

Vivi seized the tiny opening immediately. Instead of retreating, she charged forward.

From her waist, she drew the modified repeating crossbow and fired three bolts directly toward the glowing red slit of the gray-armored warrior’s helmet.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Three black streaks shot straight for their face.

This was her final act of resistance.

But the gray-armored warrior merely tilted their head slightly in midair. The three bolts grazed past their helmet harmlessly without even producing a spark. Every attempt at resistance felt pitifully insignificant.

It’s over…

Vivi’s heart sank into despair. She stared at the cyan spearhead rapidly enlarging within her vision, radiating the certainty of death itself. Her mind went blank.

Instinctively, she closed her eyes and prepared to accept her fate.

Goodbye, Nolan… I truly wanted to see the world you described, the kingdom where everyone could live together in harmony. At least… dying beside you isn’t the worst ending.
