Chapter 486: Jiang Nanqiu Appears

Old Day City was Spirit Energy Clan territory.

Compared to the black shadow, the Spirit Energy Clan’s overall strength remained a mystery.

But judging by the black shadow’s fear of them, the Spirit Energy Clan’s military power clearly far surpassed the shadow’s own.

A direct confrontation with the Spirit Energy Clan would likely be a one-way trip for the Dawn Army.

Moreover, the journey to Old Day City was fraught with variables. Various factions might unite to attack the Dawn Army along the way.

In contrast, Twilight City, a subordinate city of Old Day City, would be easier to conquer.

Perhaps within the Spirit Energy Clan’s secret base beneath Twilight City, he could find detailed intelligence about the blue-skinned tribe.

This information was equally crucial to him.

For Human Civilization to rise, the most crucial step was to understand their adversaries in detail.

The Spirit Energy Clan’s high regard for the blue-skinned tribe proved their potential to significantly impact the future.

As the formation’s power continued to intensify, Feng Qi turned to observe the black shadow. The spirit talismans on its surface pulsed, completely enveloping it.

Countless black symbols swirled around the shadow, colliding with the golden light radiating from the formation and neutralizing its destructive energy.

Feng Qi also felt the mounting pressure.

The golden patterns beneath his feet seemed to come alive as the formation operated. Mythical creatures formed from golden energy—dragons, phoenixes, and others—detached from the formation and relentlessly tore at his body.

Faced with this escalating pressure, Feng Qi’s muscles tensed.

His fist intent burned like a flame within him. The moment his eyes snapped open, he struck.

Surging qi blood erupted from his body, transforming into countless fist shadows that swept out in all directions, crushing the onrushing spirit beasts.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The fist shadows crisscrossed the battlefield, smashing countless spirit beasts into bloody mist that rained down as spiritual energy.

Wei Fa, standing outside the formation, watched the sudden surge of crimson waves within with a look of surprise.

But his smile quickly returned.

He stripped off his robes, revealing a body crisscrossed with scars—some fresh, some old—each a testament to his glorious battles on the front lines.

Beyond the surface wounds, Wei Fa’s body was etched with a network of intricate, intersecting lines.

He clasped his hands together before his chest.

“Ha!”

With a sharp exhale, the lines on his skin began to glow with a faint golden light.

It was a formation—one he had inscribed directly onto his body.

As Wei Fa exhaled, he suddenly inhaled deeply.

In that instant, the patterns branded on his skin blazed to life, drawing in the ambient spiritual energy that surged into his body.

His physique began to expand visibly.

In the blink of an eye, the frail old man transformed into a towering, muscular warrior over two meters tall.

The spiritual patterns on his skin twisted and coalesced into a coiled dragon encircling his body, its head resting on his chest and its tail along his spine.

As he clenched his fists, surging golden light erupted outward, casting him in the aura of a descending deity.

At that moment, he strode toward the formation.

The formation’s barrier automatically parted before Wei Fa, creating a clear path for him to enter.

Feng Qi, who was currently resisting the formation’s crushing pressure, turned to watch Wei Fa enter.

He saw golden light from the formation begin to converge on Wei Fa’s body.

In the blink of an eye, Wei Fa was enveloped in golden radiance.

Now fused with the formation, Wei Fa’s qi momentum surged relentlessly.

Suddenly, Wei Fa vanished from his spot.

Feng Qi, who had remained vigilant, tracked Wei Fa’s movements and abruptly threw a punch to his right.

Bang!

As their fists collided, golden and crimson light clashed violently.

Roar!

With a furious roar, Feng Qi’s heart roared to life like an engine revving at full throttle, his qi blood surging through his body.

Shockwaves of energy radiated outward from their clash.

The energy exploded, sending both Feng Qi and Wei Fa staggering back several steps.

After this brief exchange, Feng Qi had gauged the true extent of Wei Fa’s power and immediately relaxed.

“Again!”

As the words left his lips, golden light flared in Wei Fa’s eyes, and he slashed a palm strike toward Feng Qi’s chest.

Facing Wei Fa’s ferocious assault, Feng Qi swiftly caught the incoming palm strike head-on.

Just then, Wei Fa suddenly raised his right leg and kicked Feng Qi squarely in the groin.

“This is called exploiting a weakness… hmm?”

Wei Fa, having landed the blow, prepared to press his advantage, but he found Feng Qi completely unfazed, his grip on Wei Fa’s arm remaining firm.

“Having fun?” Feng Qi sneered.

The kick had indeed caught him off guard.

But in his Blood Source Form, his entire body was composed of condensed qi blood, rendering him immune to such “fatal groin strikes.”

Feng Qi twisted his body, seized Wei Fa’s right arm, and began slamming him back and forth before launching a kick that sent Wei Fa flying.

Having repelled Wei Fa, Feng Qi turned his attention to the black shadow.

The shadow remained his primary concern. If it escaped, the situation could spiral out of control.

But what he saw next left him dumbfounded.

The black symbols that had covered the shadow’s body had now fused with the formation, moving in sync with its intricate patterns.

The problem was, wherever the black symbols passed, the golden light of the formation dissipated.

“It’s dismantling the formation?”

This revelation truly surprised Feng Qi.

The formation was incredibly complex, resembling a vast, intricate web where each spirit line followed a unique trajectory.

Finding a weakness in an active formation was exceedingly difficult, typically requiring brute force to break through.

Yet the black shadow, having only just encountered this formation, swiftly grasped its essence and began dismantling it with effortless precision.

Wherever the black runes spread, the spirit formation rapidly collapsed.

Finally, the partially dismantled formation could no longer sustain itself, shattering into golden motes of spiritual energy that scattered with the wind.

Realizing the black shadow was about to escape, Feng Qi decisively closed the distance and swung his fist at it.

The punch struck the shadow’s surface, causing the black runes encircling its body to flash brightly, continuously neutralizing his surging power.

The shadow turned to face him, the black runes spreading toward him with relentless momentum.

Feng Qi had assumed the dark-green flames burning around his body would corrode the spirit energy runes, but to his shock, the flames rapidly dissipated upon contact.

These black runes seemed capable of dissolving all things, instantly converting anything they touched into scattered energy.

When the runes made contact with his flesh, his body began to disintegrate rapidly, transforming into a thick, surging torrent of qi blood.

His heart pounded violently.

The dissolved flesh was quickly replenished, and he seized one of the flickering spirit energy runes, clenching his fist tightly.

Crack!

The crisp sound of shattering echoed as Feng Qi violently crushed the black spirit energy rune in his hand.

Just as he prepared to resume his assault on the black shadow, another thunderous roar erupted overhead.

Looking up, he saw massive transport aircraft streaking across the sky, disgorging countless figures who plummeted from the sky.

Feng Qi’s expression turned grim.

He realized that more and more forces were converging to halt the war.

If he couldn’t seize the Technology Research Institute quickly, the situation would spiral beyond his control.

Figures continued to land around him, rapidly closing in.

Just as the situation threatened to unravel completely, a scarlet light streaked across the distance, hurtling toward them at breakneck speed.

Wei Fa, standing nearby, unexpectedly charged forward alone to intercept it.

Wei Fa’s fist bloomed with golden radiance like a lotus flower as he slammed it directly into the approaching Mu Qing, attempting to block her advance.

Feng Qi could already imagine what would happen next.

He couldn’t help but grimace, while the black shadow hovering beside him shook its head in exasperation:

“Idiot! You’re done for!”
