Chapter 504: The Demon Unleashed
The three-dimensional virtual playback continued to unfold.
The metal door of the top secret room automatically swung open, and Mo emerged from within.
As the sixth elder listened to Mo’s conversation with Feng Qi, golden symbols danced in his eyes.
“The Black Reaper Project?”
“This must be another new scheme cooked up by Specimen No. 1. We need to be wary of any plan he takes seriously,” Hei Sha, standing beside the sixth elder, interjected.
The sixth elder didn’t respond, his eyes locked onto Mo’s virtual image until Mo summoned a space teleportation gate and vanished without a trace.
At this sight, a fierce glint flashed in the sixth elder’s eyes:
“Mark the spatial coordinates of the space teleportation gate!”
Hearing the command, Hei Sha immediately approached the virtual image of the space teleportation gate. He waved his hand and struck the image, causing golden characters to surge from his forehead.
More and more golden characters emerged, enveloping the virtual image of the space teleportation gate.
Simultaneously, golden characters flickered through Hei Sha’s eyes, as if he were analyzing the gate’s data.
After a brief pause, he retracted the golden characters and turned to the sixth elder, nodding. “I’ve obtained the information. Should we pursue it immediately, or…”
Before Hei Sha could finish, the sixth elder shook his head. “Mo is far more cunning than we are. He’s likely already fled far away, and the coordinates he left us might even be false. If we teleport there, we could end up above the clan territory of a Domain Powerhouse, where we’d be treated as invaders and forced into a desperate battle. We should reconsider capturing Mo after we return and plan more carefully.”
“Let’s investigate the area first.”
With that, the sixth elder floated into the air, drifting toward the top secret room.
Hei Lin’s death had caught them by surprise, but to them, Hei Lin had to die regardless. Even if he hadn’t fallen into the hands of the mysterious force, they would have killed him themselves.
From the moment it was expelled from the clan, there was no longer any place for it within its own kind.
The only thing that puzzled it was the nature of the Black Reaper Project.
Hei Lin seemed to place great importance on this project, and behind it lay the shadow of “Mo,” a figure even the Spirit Energy Clan feared.
With its doubts growing, the sixth elder floated to the entrance of the top secret room.
Seeing the Spirit Energy Bomb embedded in the metal door, it waved its hand toward the bomb.
Instantly, countless golden characters coiled around the bomb, and the flashing indicator lights near the Spirit Energy Bomb extinguished one by one. The bomb entered a dormant state.
Having neutralized the potential threat, the sixth elder floated through the door and scanned the room ahead.
Before it lay a massive laboratory, fully equipped with all manner of scientific equipment. However, the haphazardly scattered mechanical parts and documents throughout the room made it frown involuntarily.
At the same time, it spotted Feng Qi standing before the instruments.
Golden characters flickered in the sixth elder’s eyes, and a golden ripple swept forward, expanding outward.
When the golden ripple dissipated, the sixth elder confirmed that the only life form in the entire laboratory was the bone man before it.
From the recorded images it had reviewed earlier, it knew that this bone man at the control console was the mysterious creature that had killed Hei Lin—the Blood Giant in its Bone Man Form.
After assessing the situation, the sixth elder turned his gaze to Feng Qi.
After a brief exchange of glances, a smile spread across the sixth elder’s face:
“I believe we might be able to discuss this matter. About this war, about what you know of Hei Lin, and what exactly the Black Reaper Project entails.”
Hearing this, Feng Qi, who was still trying to figure out how to activate Little Black, grew wary.
He knew the Spirit Energy Clan held no goodwill towards him.
Their current friendly demeanor was clearly intended to extract crucial information from him.
Especially the Black Reaper Project, which the Spirit Energy Clan seemed to value deeply.
As for how they learned of the Black Reaper Project, Feng Qi understood the reason.
He had seen in the surveillance footage how one of the Spirit Energy Clan members had played back the recorded footage earlier. He realized they must have overheard all his conversations with the black shadow and Mo.
“If you want to leave this place alive, you’d be wise to tell me everything you know,” the sixth elder continued, interrupting Feng Qi’s thoughts.
As the sixth elder gradually approached, Feng Qi suddenly snatched the detonator from the control console.
“Don’t come any closer. We can talk, but stay back.”
The sixth elder froze, his eyes fixed on the detonator in Feng Qi’s hand.
A string of golden characters flashed across its eyes, a sneer flickering in its cold gaze as it pointed at Feng Qi.
Golden light shot forth at nearly imperceptible speed.
Feng Qi felt his grip loosen as the golden light severed the arm holding the detonator. The detonator and his right forearm clattered to the ground.
“You must understand this,” the sixth elder said, his voice measured and confident, as if everything were under his control. “You’re still alive and talking to me because I wanted to gather information in advance. Otherwise, I could have extracted everything I needed from your mind in countless ways.”
“But now, I see no need to waste any more time on you.”
As the sixth elder finished speaking, the golden leaf on its forehead glowed, and countless characters materialized, surging toward Feng Qi.
In an instant, he was enveloped in golden characters.
His cracked bones shattered on a massive scale, and the character-bound him became utterly immobile.
The situation had completely slipped from his grasp.
“Take him back to read his memories. Seize all the data here,” the sixth elder commanded in a deep voice.
Realizing he would be taken back to the Spirit Energy Clan, Feng Qi’s heart hardened.
His gaze now fell on the control console.
He couldn’t understand the text on the screen, nor did he know how to operate the control console.
So, he decided to take a gamble.
With that thought, he projected his telekinesis outward and randomly mashed all the buttons on the console.
The sixth elder’s expression changed slightly as he sensed something was wrong. He clenched his fist violently toward Feng Qi.
A series of bone-cracking sounds echoed through the air as Feng Qi’s Bone Man Form body was relentlessly compressed, leaving it mangled and broken.
Just then, a metallic box within the glass partition emitted a strange noise.
The sixth elder and the other Spirit Energy Clan members immediately turned their attention to the box.
The metal box slowly creaked open.
Under their curious gazes, black specks emerged from the box, coalescing in the air like liquid and dispersing like mist.
“What is this now?” the sixth elder exclaimed in surprise. With a wave of his hand, countless golden characters materialized on his forehead and surged toward Little Black.
Little Black, still not fully awakened, rotated clockwise in the air, shifting between liquid and gaseous states.
The moment the golden characters touched Little Black, it sprang to life like a beast scenting prey.
The black specks swarmed the golden characters, devouring them completely in an instant.
The Spirit Energy Nanoworms began to multiply and grow at a visible rate.
In a short time, the Spirit Energy Nanoworms, originally condensed to the size of a fist, doubled in volume.
Like wild beasts drawn to the scent of blood, the Nanoworms dispersed into a mist, flowing along the golden characters toward the sixth elder’s position.
Faced with the mysterious Little Black, the sixth elder’s face showed surprise, and he immediately attacked again.
A pair of massive golden wings, forged from concentrated energy, materialized behind him, slamming down toward Little Black.
The anticipated scene of the mysterious substance being blasted away didn’t occur. Instead, the sixth elder watched as transparent holes appeared one after another on his golden wings, which began to dissolve at a visible rate.
Sensing imminent danger, the sixth elder immediately severed his golden wings.
In the blink of an eye, Little Black devoured both wings completely, his volume growing with each bite.
After a brief pause, Little Black transformed into a mist and descended upon the sixth elder.
Seeing this, Feng Qi knew he had succeeded.
The unleashed Little Black was like an opened Pandora’s Box, already revealing its terrifying nature upon first appearance.
And the sixth elder’s probing attack had made him Little Black’s first target for devouring.
Watching the sixth elder’s face contort in terror, Feng Qi silently mourned him for 0.01 seconds.
Good luck!
