Chapter 523: Good Thing I'm Your Father, Not Your Brother

Standing before the crimson flood dragon, Feng Qi raised his fist and slammed it down on the massive head.

Crack!

A crisp sound of bone breaking echoed through the air.

The blow failed to even pierce the dragon’s scales. Instead, Feng Qi’s own hand bones shattered under the impact.

Seeing Feng Qi injured, Suction Cup, still perched atop the dragon’s head, swung her fist down with tremendous force.

Thud!

The already weakened crimson flood dragon let out a faint, mournful cry under Suction Cup’s brutal assault, unable to resist.

Just as Suction Cup was about to deliver a second blow, Feng Qi urgently called out:

“Suction Cup, come back!”

Hearing his command, Suction Cup slowly lowered her raised fist, a thoughtful expression crossing her face.

“(ω) Feng Qi… wants to get stronger. Suction Cup won’t hit.”

With that, she leaped down from the dragon’s head.

Landing on all fours, she bounded over to Feng Qi in a few quick leaps and threw herself into his arms.

Ruffling Suction Cup’s small head, Feng Qi turned his gaze back to the crimson flood dragon.

Without hesitation, he immediately activated his Blood Source Form.

As his heart pounded violently, surging qi blood erupted from his chest, seeping through his pores and transforming into a crimson mist.

Soon, Feng Qi’s body was enveloped in this vital energy. Flesh buds writhed and intertwined, forming muscle fibers as his frame rapidly expanded.

In the blink of an eye, he towered at five meters tall, his muscles coalescing into granite-like blocks. Veins surged across his skin like coiling dragons.

Even standing motionless, he exuded an overwhelming pressure that suffocated the Lord of the Mist beside him.

His severed finger, regenerated completely under the his potent healing abilities.

Clenching his fist, Feng Qi felt a torrent of raw power surging through his veins.

This comprehensive enhancement of his physical prowess filled him with unwavering confidence.

Turning his gaze back to the crimson flood dragon, dark-green flames suddenly ignited in Feng Qi’s eyes, spreading across his entire body.

Taking a step back to steady himself, he crouched slightly, channeling his energy.

The fiery fist intent within his chest blazed fiercely, fueled by his rising qi momentum. The nascent fist intent domain expanded outward, enveloping the crimson flood dragon completely.

“Ha!” With the first punch, a storm of fist shadows materialized, filling the sky.

His fists rained down on the crimson flood dragon’s head like a relentless tempest, each strike unleashing terrifying force.

The crimson flood dragon’s scales were incredibly tough, and each strike sent a jarring recoil back into Feng Qi’s fist.

With each relentless punch, Feng Qi’s knuckles became a bloody mess.

Yet he didn’t relent, instead accelerating his strikes with even greater force.

Fueled by his formidable regenerative abilities, he ignored the backlash.

Under Feng Qi’s relentless assault, the flood dragon’s massive body was forced backward, the crimson light flowing through its scales dimming with each blow.

Finally, a crisp cracking sound echoed as a fissure appeared on one of the dragon’s scales.

The crack rapidly spread across the surface.

The shattering sounds grew incessant as Feng Qi finally breached the crimson flood dragon’s defenses.

His bloodied fist, now unstoppable, shattered several scales and plunged into the dragon’s brain.

A mournful wail erupted, but the creature could no longer resist.

Roaring in fury, Feng Qi braced his other hand beneath the dragon’s jaw.

Gathering all his strength into his arms, Feng Qi’s veins bulged, and the dark-green flames coiling around his body surged violently. He stood like an ancient Demon God risen from the chaos, radiating terrifying waves of power.

With a full burst of power, he slowly raised the crimson flood dragon’s head above his head.

Roaring furiously, he slammed the raised head violently into the ground.

The Earth trembled as the dragon’s head made contact, and a terrifying force swept dust and debris outward in all directions.

But Feng Qi’s assault didn’t end there. He strained again, lifting the crimson flood dragon’s head for a second, crushing blow.

A third strike… a fourth… a fifth…

Under Feng Qi’s brutal, relentless assault, the crimson flood dragon’s Flame of Life gradually flickered and died.

When a Blood Mist Cluster emerged from the dragon’s body, Feng Qi abruptly flung the head aside, ceasing his attack.

The Blood Mist Cluster, now seeping from the dragon’s corpse, drifted toward him, penetrating his skin upon contact.

It felt like drinking a cup of molten lava, his body instantly burning with extreme heat.

His blood surged through his veins like a tidal wave, and his bones cracked and popped audibly, as if every part of him was being reshaped by the invading power.

During this process, an unbearable heat coursed through Feng Qi’s body, making him instinctively want to scratch.

But he resisted the urge, choosing instead to close his eyes and wait for the transformation to complete.

The sensation persisted for several minutes. When everything finally settled, Feng Qi summoned his status panel to examine the changes within himself.

His gaze scanned the panel, eventually settling on the new innate ability he had gained after slaying the crimson flood dragon.

After carefully reading the ability’s description, a smile spread across his face.

Blood Dragon Soul (Special Ability)

Description: Activating this ability grants the Blood Dragon Soul’s blessing, providing a comprehensive enhancement to the physical body (maintaining this state requires consuming qi blood).

Passive Ability: Greatly enhances qi blood perception and manipulation capabilities.

This was Feng Qi’s first time acquiring an innate ability with both passive and active components.

The passive aspect was straightforward: it enhanced his perception and control of qi blood, allowing him to wield qi blood-infused fist shadows with greater ease and execute qi blood-based art magic more fluidly.

As for the active Blood Dragon Soul empowerment, he remained uncertain about its exact mechanics.

What he did know was that activating this ability accelerated qi blood consumption, potentially conflicting with his blood source state.

To test its effects, Feng Qi opened his eyes.

With a thought, he activated the newly formed crimson talent pearl within his sea of consciousness. The pearl trembled slightly as a crimson beam of light shot toward the Source Orb at its center.

Immediately, crimson patterns materialized on the Source Orb’s surface.

Outside, a resonant dragon’s roar echoed through the air.

A phantom of a blood-red dragon materialized above Feng Qi’s head. As it opened its maw and roared, the dragon’s cry reverberated, and the oppressive aura of a higher lifeform swept across the surroundings. Crimson light cascaded down, enveloping Feng Qi in its glow.

As the Blood Dragon Soul materialized, Feng Qi could feel his muscles hardening, his strength surging, and even his senses—vision, smell, and more—sharpening dramatically.

However, this power came at a cost: his qi blood reserves drained at an accelerated rate.

Feng Qi recognized the ability’s immense utility, but understood it was best reserved for critical moments.

Using the Blood Dragon Soul against mere fodder would drastically reduce the duration he could maintain his Blood Source Form.

By now, his qi blood was nearly depleted.

Scanning the surroundings, Feng Qi spotted a writhing domain plant several hundred meters away.

Without hesitation, he channeled his remaining qi blood and unleashed a full-force punch toward the distant greenery.

Under his control, the surging qi blood condensed into a fist-shaped phantom that hurtled forward.

The Blood Dragon Soul circling above roared in unison, following the fist phantom and merging with it mid-flight.

The fist phantom transformed into a phantom of a flying dragon, its claws extended and jaws agape as it soared through the air.

The instant the Blood Dragon struck the domain plant, its terrifying force shattered the greenery into a shower of green fragments. Enveloped by the subsequent burst of crimson energy, the fragments disintegrated into shimmering green motes.

The power of this punch far exceeded Feng Qi’s expectations.

Both its speed and destructive force surpassed even the full-strength strike of his shadow fist.

Realizing he had acquired another formidable innate ability perfectly suited to his combat style, a smile crept across his lips.

Just then, the Narrator’s voice echoed in his mind:

This is a massive windfall! The bloodline of that crimson serpent must have contained remnants of a higher-tier life form’s innate ability. That’s why you obtained the Blood Dragon Soul instead of the Blood Snake Soul or Blood Flood Dragon Soul… Congratulations! You’re one step closer to achieving your ultimate form: the Great Muscled Manly Man!

Judging by the Narrator’s tone, he seemed even more thrilled about Feng Qi acquiring the Blood Dragon Soul than Feng Qi himself.

Feng Qi couldn’t bring himself to comment on the Narrator’s perverse sense of humor.

Yet, he gradually realized the Narrator’s influence on him was surprisingly significant.

When he first discovered he could extract innate abilities from domain creatures through killing, he had never considered pursuing a path as a muscle-bound berserker.

His initial plan was to become an artificer, or perhaps a grand mage.

He could summon wind and rain with a wave of his hand, move mountains, and fill seas, commanding the natural forces of wind, fire, thunder, and lightning.

Even if his enemies were thousands of miles away, he could draw upon the heaven and earth spiritual energy to conjure divine thunder, annihilating them with a casual gesture.

But today, all his art magic abilities had been dismantled, transformed into nourishment for his blood source and other growth-oriented abilities.

The only remaining abilities were close-combat innate abilities and passive abilities that amplified his melee prowess.

He had truly been led astray by the Narrator, embarking on the path of a muscle-bound berserker.

Yet, after experiencing it firsthand, he had come to appreciate the raw, visceral thrill of hand-to-hand combat—the clash of strength, the struggle of combat techniques… Each battle became a crucible for his willpower.
