Chapter 1065: Chapter 508: Eccentric Powerhouse

Individually, the Little Stone Spirits weren’t strong, but together, they could alter the environment on a massive scale.

Gauss dropped his expression.

The clasped palms of Bigby’s Hand opened. One hand pulled back, shattering the ten-meter-high wave of mud and stone, while the other hand flew into the air above the army of Little Stone Spirits.

“Vajra Palm!”

Bigby’s Hand surged with radiant silver light. The next moment, the giant palm descended.

BOOM!

When it lifted again, not a single living thing remained beneath it. Only a fine, crushed puddle of stone dust was left behind.

“Vajra Palm! Vajra Palm!”

Gauss brought down several more strikes in rapid succession. The once arrogant army of Little Stone Spirits instantly crumbled.

After casually wiping out an entire monster clan with the flip of a hand, Gauss and the others hopped back onto the palm of Bigby’s Hand. Positioning one palm facing upward and the other downward, Bigby’s Hand firmly protected everyone sitting in the middle as it swiftly drifted off into the distance.

On the way to You’s tribe, Gauss encountered several more attacks.

“We’re here!” You suddenly called for Gauss to stop.

Far in the distance stood a massive cliff with a sheer drop of over a hundred meters. Dozens of sand rivers flowed through the area, forming a colossal waterfall belt that swept tens of thousands of tons of yellow sand down from above. The massive clouds of dust churned up at the bottom never settled, shrouding the air in a thick layer of yellow grit and reducing visibility in the vicinity to almost zero. Evidently, You’s tribe used this perpetually swirling yellow sandstorm as a natural barrier.

“Follow me.”

As a local, You was already intimately familiar with the yellow sand. Aaliyah and the others, however, pulled up their masks. The group then followed behind You, stepping into the dense fog.

WHOOSH—

Fierce winds whipped relentlessly against their faces. If You hadn’t been leading the way, even Gauss wouldn’t have been able to navigate freely through a sandstorm of this magnitude. After all, this was no ordinary yellow sand. Gauss could sense that this environment, rich in Magic Power, naturally formed a massive field of Magic. Not only did it block all detection methods, but it would also cause anyone who blindly intruded to completely lose their sense of direction. Therefore, even though he had grown vastly stronger compared to two or three years ago, Gauss never lost his reverence for nature.

He glanced at the protruding mineral crystal on the skin between You’s eyebrows. It glowed faintly in the yellow sand. It seemed she was able to advance accurately through the overwhelming storm precisely because of its guidance.

“Many tribes live in this area. These heaven-sent yellow sands protect us from the frequent harassment of other monsters,” You explained as she walked.

It was easy to see that as she neared home, her mood gradually brightened, and her footsteps became noticeably lighter. After walking through the yellow sand for an unknown amount of time, You stopped in her tracks. She spun in place a few times, hopped lightly twice, and finally bent down to brush away the fine sand on the ground, revealing a dusty gray stone slab beneath.

“We’re here.”

She slapped the Crystal Stone in her palm against it. Soon, the stone slab opened on its own with a series of CLACKING sounds, revealing a tunnel to Gauss and the others.

“Quick, come in.”

You nimbly slipped inside as the yellow sand from above began to pour into the passage. She waved for Gauss and the others to follow. Once everyone was inside, You closed the entrance. The omnipresent, irritating sandstorm was finally cut off completely, and the environment suddenly fell quiet.

Aaliyah pulled down her mask and greedily breathed in a few mouthfuls of fresh air. She really wanted to say that You’s living conditions were rather atrocious and that going home seemed like an absolute hassle. However, thinking it might be a bit impolite, she kept the thought to herself.

Luminescent crystals were embedded in the tunnel walls, providing dim but steady lighting. They wondered if this was an Underground City hidden beneath the yellow sand.

You led them deeper inside. Before they could reach the end, the hurried sound of footsteps echoed from the distance.

“It’s me! I’m You! I’m back!” You quickly shouted at the top of her lungs, afraid that if she spoke a second too late, they would be greeted by a shower of arrows and hidden weapons. Even though she had the protection of her new friend, Gauss, and her tribesmen’s attacks definitely couldn’t hurt them, she didn’t want her people to leave a terrible first impression on him.

“You?” The voice from the other end of the tunnel was highly skeptical.

Meanwhile, You had clearly recognized the speaker’s identity from his voice. “Mu, it’s me. I didn’t die.”

After she stated her identity again, the people on the other side seemed fully convinced. Soon, several demi-humans with physical features similar to You’s emerged. Their eyes were filled with relief when they looked at You, but the moment their gazes fell upon the strange beings behind her, they instantly grew wary and tightened their grips on their weapons. Although they didn’t launch an attack, their tense postures showed that they were ready to strike at any moment to snatch You back.

Seeing her tribesmen’s hostile demeanor, You hurriedly stepped in front of Gauss and spread her arms.

“Mu, Ben, Ya, don’t attack! These are my new friends. They saved me.”

Seeing that the group still hadn’t lowered their weapons and were still glaring viciously at Gauss and his companions, You instantly grew anxious. She quickly marched forward and, under her tribesmen’s astonished gazes, smacked them while roughly snatching away their weapons.

“You! What are you doing?”

Seeing her tribesmen’s bewildered, betrayed expressions, You genuinely felt a wave of exhaustion.

She thought, “What a bunch of idiots.”

She desperately wanted to tell them that she wasn’t protecting Gauss; she was protecting them. They had no idea just how terrifyingly powerful Gauss was. If a conflict really broke out, they would likely be obliterated in mere moments, just like the many monsters they had encountered on the road here.
