Chapter 735
I Can See Through Everything – Chapter 735
Chapter 735: Astonishing Speed, Effortless Mockery
The sudden turn of events left Lu Qing rather helpless.
Though he had been cautious and well-prepared, there were times when even the most meticulous plans couldn’t account for the whims of fate. No matter how careful he was, he could never have anticipated the situation unfolding before him.
Sensing the violent surge of attacks rushing toward him, Lu Qing’s expression hardened. Even under the suppressive force of the Gui Xu Secret Realm, the combined might of those assaults remained terrifying.
He knew then that concealing his true strength was no longer possible.
The joint attack of over ten Nascent Soul cultivators above the Fifth Tribulation was something no one—not even the most formidable of Nascent Souls—could take lightly. What made it worse was that these attackers were all core disciples of top-tier sects beneath the starry heavens.
Although Lu Qing was powerful, facing such force head-on was not something he could do easily.
With danger pressing down on him, his figure flickered like a wisp of smoke. In the blink of an eye, he slipped away, escaping the radius of that dreadful might.
However, the few fleeing figures ahead of him weren’t so fortunate.
The attacks of those Black-and-White Temple disciples had been aimed squarely at them. Under that overwhelming power, even though they were all Fifth-Tribulation Nascent Souls or higher, they were struck down almost instantly, grievously wounded and collapsing to the ground.
“Hmm?”
Mo Tushan, who had been standing aloof at the rear, unwilling to even raise a hand, suddenly froze in surprise. But when his gaze fell on Lu Qing, his eyes lit up.
“So it’s you, boy! I thought you’d keep hiding like a rat in some hole—but you actually dared to show yourself! Hah, what a surprise!”
Before his voice even faded, Mo Tushan’s body shot forward like lightning, charging straight at Lu Qing.
He didn’t bother wondering why Lu Qing had suddenly appeared here. All he knew was that the youth was cunning—if he didn’t act fast, Lu Qing would surely slip away again.
Mo Tushan’s cultivation had reached the peak of the Eighth Tribulation of the Nascent Soul Realm. Even under the immense suppression of the Gui Xu Secret Realm, his speed was still astounding. Within a mere breath, his form became a blur, closing to within a hundred zhang of Lu Qing.
Yet, to everyone’s astonishment, Lu Qing’s face remained calm.
His eyes were cold. He stepped lightly, and his body retreated in a streak of light—his movement not a whit slower than Mo Tushan’s.
“What?!”
Mo Tushan’s pupils shrank. He could scarcely believe what he was seeing. The youth before him exuded the aura of a mere Fifth-Tribulation Nascent Soul, yet his speed rivaled his own?
Unwilling to accept it, Mo Tushan’s aura surged, his body trembling as his speed rose again, rapidly closing in.
But the very moment he accelerated, Lu Qing’s speed suddenly soared as well—becoming even faster than before, widening the gap once more.
“How can this be?!”
Mo Tushan’s eyes bulged. He had unleashed more than eighty percent of his strength, yet he still couldn’t catch this Fifth-Tribulation brat!
“That boy’s speed… it’s on par with Senior Brother Tushan’s?”
The disciples of the Black-and-White Temple watching from afar were dumbfounded. On the vast plaza, the two figures streaked about like twin rays of light, one chasing the other, yet the distance between them remained unchanged.
To see their senior brother—an Eighth-Tribulation expert—unable to catch a mere Fifth-Tribulation cultivator was beyond belief.
“Who is that man? To withstand Mo Tushan’s pursuit for so long?”
Meanwhile, cultivators from other sects who had come to investigate the commotion stared in shock. They instantly recognized Mo Tushan, but the youth he was chasing, though weaker in aura, moved with speed equal to his.
“Senior Brother Yu Jian,” Qing Xi of the Kongming Sect murmured softly, “that’s the same cultivator you rescued before.”
“It’s him?” Yu Jian exhaled, shaking his head slightly. “Seems I was overly cautious that day. With such speed, even without my aid, Mo Tushan wouldn’t have caught him.”
“But how can a mere Fifth-Tribulation Nascent Soul unleash such speed within the Gui Xu Secret Realm?” Qing Xi asked in disbelief.
After all, the secret realm’s suppressive force was enormous; even the space itself was heavy and unmoving. Even cultivators at the Eighth Tribulation found their strength, artifacts, and speed greatly hindered.
Logically, weaker cultivators should have been suppressed even more severely. Yet this mysterious man was defying that rule completely.
Yu Jian pondered briefly, then said, “Perhaps he carries some sort of extraordinary treasure. Anyone who dares enter this realm alone must have confidence in their own means.”
Qing Xi nodded thoughtfully. That made sense. Without something to rely on, charging alone into the Gui Xu Secret Realm would have been nothing but suicide.
“But in that case,” she added with a faint laugh, “Mo Tushan is going to lose face today.”
Yu Jian smiled faintly. “Demonic cultivators have no shame to begin with. If someone can humiliate him, all the better. Let’s keep watch—lest that Daoist friend truly fall to his hands.”
Notably, Yu Jian now referred to Lu Qing as “Daoist friend.”
“Yes,” Qing Xi agreed softly. “I can sense no trace of evil from him—his aura is pure and bright. He’s clearly a righteous cultivator.”
Qing Xi practiced a secret art that allowed her to see a person’s true nature through their aura. In her eyes, Lu Qing’s energy was radiant and untainted, undeniably aligned with the righteous path.
“No wonder that strange fellow could toy with so many of us before,” another voice said from afar—Hei Ming of the Netherworld Palace, his eyes glinting with intrigue.
He watched the chase with growing interest.
“This man must carry an extraordinary treasure,” a voice—Tao Fairy’s—whispered in his mind. “Hei Ming-shixiong, why not seize it for ourselves?”
“A treasure, hmm? That is… tempting,” Hei Ming mused, stroking his chin. If such an artifact could allow a Fifth-Tribulation cultivator to move at the speed of an Eighth-Tribulation expert under these conditions… the possibilities were endless.
Still, he kept his composure. “Let’s wait and see. There are many powerhouses here; others likely share that idea. We’ll strike when the moment is right.”
“As you say, Hei Ming-shixiong,” Tao Fairy replied sweetly.
“Boy, you dare mock me?! You’re courting death!”
Mo Tushan’s furious roar echoed across the plaza. Having unleashed his full speed and even attempted to trap Lu Qing with treasures and techniques—all of which failed under the realm’s suppressive laws—he finally realized the truth: the boy was toying with him.
Lu Qing could have escaped outright but instead kept just far enough ahead to frustrate him, always matching his pace, always just out of reach.
Such blatant humiliation was intolerable.
The dark qi around Mo Tushan boiled violently as a suffocating demonic aura filled the air, causing all nearby cultivators to pale.
He was about to use his true trump card.
“Not good! Mo Tushan is going all out!” Yu Jian warned, his sword flashing into his hand.
But before he could act, Lu Qing suddenly laughed.
“Heh… so you finally noticed, demon brat. Not completely brainless after all.”
His words froze the crowd.
Had they heard right? This Fifth-Tribulation cultivator had just called Mo Tushan—a peak Eighth-Tribulation powerhouse—a ‘demon brat’?
Was he suicidal?
Mo Tushan’s glare grew murderous. His demonic qi surged forward like a tide, but Lu Qing easily slipped aside.
Then came the final taunt.
“All right, the game’s over. I’ve had enough fun. Let’s hope next time you’ll behave yourself—and stop barking like a mad dog every time you see me.”
With that, Lu Qing’s speed exploded once more. His figure became a streak of light, darting away faster than lightning. Within a few breaths, he vanished into a distant palace, disappearing completely.
Mo Tushan froze, dumbfounded. Even after unleashing his full strength, he couldn’t catch up—Lu Qing’s final burst of speed had far exceeded anything possible under the realm’s suppression.
The other cultivators were left just as astonished.
“Just what kind of treasure does that boy carry?” Hei Ming muttered bitterly, feeling a pang of regret. Had he known, he would have acted sooner.
“Indeed,” Qing Xi said softly. “You were right, Yu Jian—he must have a powerful treasure to move so freely in this realm.”
But Yu Jian didn’t reply. His gaze lingered in the direction Lu Qing had vanished, his expression distant.
“Senior Brother Yu Jian?” Qing Xi called gently.
He blinked, then smiled. “It’s nothing. I’m merely astonished—his speed truly defies belief.”
Qing Xi laughed. “Indeed. Mo Tushan has become a laughingstock today. Imagine—a peak Eighth-Tribulation Nascent Soul being taunted and outrun by a mere Fifth-Tribulation cultivator! Once word spreads, both he and the Black-and-White Temple will be mocked across the heavens.”
Her voice, clear and melodic, carried just far enough for every cultivator present to hear.
The moment hung still—then many faces shifted subtly, amusement flickering in their eyes.
Mo Tushan’s face turned as black as ink. “Hmph. We’re leaving!”
Without another word, he led the Black-and-White Temple disciples away, not even sparing a glance at the wounded cultivators still lying on the ground.
“Well, well, that was quite the show,” Hei Ming chuckled, clapping his hands before leading the Netherworld Palace disciples away as well.
The other factions soon dispersed too, each returning to their respective halls to continue deciphering their own formations.
Once the plaza emptied, Yu Jian sighed. “Qing Xi, why provoke Mo Tushan so openly? He’ll surely bear a grudge.”
“Let him,” Qing Xi said calmly, her tone sharp with pride. “We of the Righteous Path stand opposed to his kind anyway. If he seeks me out, I’ll simply use him to test my sword.”
Yu Jian could only sigh again. He knew of her enmity—the Kongming Sect and the Black-and-White Temple had long been at odds, and one of Qing Xi’s elders had fallen to their hands.
Still, her cultivation, though strong, hadn’t yet reached perfection. He hoped she wouldn’t act rashly.
But he also knew: at their level, every cultivator held absolute faith in their own strength.
So he said no more, simply turning toward the wounded figures nearby.
