Chapter 499: Fourth-Tier! Inheritance Guardian

“What’s happening?”

“I can’t sense anything either.”

“What’s going on?” The other demigods were equally bewildered.

This was unprecedented in the history of the Great Stellar War.

It’s worth noting that this wasn’t the first time the civilization ruins had been opened.

Every few decades, it would be opened as a battlefield for the Great Stellar War.

But such a situation had never occurred before!

“How could this be?” Even the Demigod of the Chu Clan grew anxious, his brow furrowed as he stared intently at the pitch-black projection.

Only the Zhou Family Demigod remained calm and composed, a faint smile playing at the corner of his lips.

“Remain calm,” Alliance Leader Qi Tian said, raising his hand. “It’s likely the powerful will within the civilization ruins has intervened.”

“Within the civilization ruins?”

“A powerful will?” The other demigods exchanged puzzled glances.

“Deep within the civilization ruins resides a mysterious will,” Qi Tian said gravely. “It is ancient, powerful, and deeply enigmatic.”

“However, it harbors no malice toward our Blue Star.”

“So, rest assured,” Qi Tian continued. “The civilization ruins are like the Star Realm Sea—they contain countless secrets beyond our understanding.”

Upon hearing “Star Realm Sea,” the demigods immediately grasped the implication.

Could it be that the depths of the civilization ruins conceal a tremendous opportunity?

The demigods exchanged uneasy glances.

Yet in all previous expeditions into the ruins, no one has ever discovered such an opportunity!

“That Jiang Ye kid really is lucky,” the Li Family Demigod murmured, shaking her head behind her veil.

“Hmph!” The Zhou Family Demigod snorted inwardly, his mood sour as he stared at the pitch-black projection screen.

Whoosh!

Jiang Ye felt the surrounding space tremble, and in an instant, he found himself in a mysterious realm.

The space shimmered with iridescent light, yet when Jiang Ye used his psychic power to sense his surroundings, he discovered it was utterly dark, devoid of any visible presence.

It was a paradox.

According to Jiang Ye’s psychic perception, the area should have been pitch black, yet he saw streaks of vibrant light as if his senses and physical eyes were completely disconnected.

“Where is this?”

“The Inheritance Space?” Jiang Ye recalled the ancient voice he had heard earlier, and a multitude of thoughts flooded his mind.

Could there really be an Inheritance Space within the civilization ruins?

He had never heard of such a thing.

However, Jiang Ye had long suspected that an invisible hand was guiding events behind the scenes of these ruins.

Therefore, he wasn’t particularly surprised by this revelation.

Suddenly,

“Whoosh~” The void rippled, and a radiant figure materialized—a woman clad in colorful robes, her beauty breathtaking.

“This?” Jiang Ye felt a flicker of surprise.

He could see the Colorful-Clothed Woman with his eyes.

Yet according to his psychic perception, there was absolutely nothing before him.

“Don’t be alarmed,” the Colorful-Clothed Woman said with a gentle smile. “I am the Guardian Spirit of the Inheritance Space. You cannot perceive me with psychic power.”

Jiang Ye’s understanding dawned.

Indeed! Guardian Spirits were not physical entities.

Like Bai Gui, they were undetectable by psychic power. This was why even demigod-level experts who scanned Jiang Ye’s body with psychic power had difficulty discovering Bai Gui’s presence.

As long as Bai Gui wished, she could remain hidden indefinitely.

“Senior Guardian Spirit,” Jiang Ye couldn’t help but ask, “the ancient voice I heard earlier—was that you?”

The Colorful-Clothed Woman’s voice was clearly ethereal and melodious.

“Ancient voice?”

“Do you mean this?” The Colorful-Clothed Woman’s voice shifted, instantly becoming aged and raspy.

“Actually, it’s all me.” She blinked her beautiful eyes and reverted to her ethereal tone. “This is my true voice. For countless years, I’ve been guarding this Inheritance Space alone. Bored, I started experimenting with different voices.”

Jiang Ye was stunned.

This Colorful-Clothed Guardian Spirit seemed quite different from Bai Gui, with a rather playful personality.

“Alright,” she said.

“Let me formally introduce myself. I’m Caiyi,” the Colorful-Clothed Woman smiled. “I come from the Caikun Civilization.”

“Caiyi? Caikun Civilization?” Jiang Ye blinked in surprise.

So, he had truly entered the Inheritance Space of a powerful civilization?

Only first-tier or higher cosmic civilizations could leave behind Inheritance Guardian Spirits. The more advanced the civilization, the longer its Guardian Spirits could endure.

Given that this Colorful-Clothed Woman claimed to have existed for countless years, her origins must be extraordinary.

“Senior Caiyi, what exactly is the Caikun Civilization?” Jiang Ye asked, his curiosity piqued.

Unexpectedly…

“Don’t call me ‘senior.’ Do I look that old?” Caiyi frowned slightly. “You can call me ‘sister.'”

Jiang Ye’s lips twitched slightly, but he quickly smiled. “Sister Caiyi!”

A wise man knows when to yield.

If he wanted to gain advantages, he naturally had to please her.

“Mm,” Caiyi nodded in satisfaction before continuing. “The Caikun Civilization is the overlord civilization at the heart of the Seventh Starfield.”

“It is immensely powerful.”

“Even across the entire Seventh Starfield, few civilizations can rival our Caikun Civilization,” Caiyi said with a hint of pride.

Seventh Starfield? Jiang Ye was completely bewildered. He had never heard of such a place.

“Sister Caiyi, what exactly is this Seventh Starfield?” he couldn’t help but ask.

“The Seventh Starfield is the seventh starfield to emerge at the edge of the Starfield Sea,” Caiyi explained. “Your Blue Star Civilization’s Milky Way Galaxy lies within its boundaries.”

“The Seventh Starfield is unimaginably vast.”

“Within it, there are millions of galaxies like the Milky Way,” Caiyi added.

“Millions of Milky Way Galaxies?” Jiang Ye stared in disbelief.

How enormous must that be?

And the Seventh Starfield was only the seventh starfield.

So, there are even more starfields like this?

“Wait,” Jiang Ye suddenly noticed a key term. “What’s the Starfield Sea?”

“The Starfield Sea is our name for the most prosperous region of the universe,” Caiyi explained.

“The universe is boundless, giving rise to countless starfields,” Caiyi continued. “Most of these starfields are scattered across the cosmos.”

“But in one particular region, tens of thousands of starfields were born in succession, each flourishing with countless brilliant cosmic civilizations.”

“That place is the Starfield Sea,” Caiyi said with a smile.

Jiang Ye was stunned.

Tens of thousands of starfields? How vast could that be?

Wait a minute.

“Caiyi-jie,” Jiang Ye suddenly realized, “you said earlier that the Seventh Starfield, where we are, is just one starfield on the edge of the Starfield Sea?”

“That’s right.”

“Strictly speaking, the Seventh Starfield doesn’t belong to the Starfield Sea,” Caiyi nodded. “It’s actually part of the ‘Barren Zone’.”

“But that doesn’t diminish its significance.”

“Our Seventh Starfield has still given rise to many powerful civilizations, like the Caikun Civilization,” Caiyi said with a smile.

Jiang Ye nodded slightly.

Though she spoke modestly, no one would belittle their own homeland.

From this, it seemed the prosperity of the Starfield Sea far exceeded imagination.

Bai Gui had never mentioned any of these things, perhaps because he hadn’t yet reached that level of understanding.

“Sister Caiyi, what tier of civilization is the Caikun Civilization?” Jiang Ye couldn’t help but ask, his curiosity piqued.

“The Caikun Civilization is a 3.9-tier civilization,” Caiyi replied proudly. “It has already approached the threshold of becoming a fourth-tier cosmic civilization.”

Boom!

Jiang Ye’s mind instantly exploded.

Approaching the threshold of a fourth-tier cosmic civilization?!
