…

Mo Hua’s Divine sense was already very strong, and with his cultivation of the Celestial Evolution Art, controlling his emotions and even the slightest expression was not difficult.

But the words “Guixu Heavenly Burial Map” carried too much impact. For a brief moment, he could not fully control himself. Though he forcefully suppressed the turmoil in his heart, the emotions in his eyes still flickered like restless waves.

After all, he was still young, and his cultivation was not that high.

Such emotional fluctuations naturally could not escape the eyes of the thousand-year-old Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors.

The Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors’ minds stirred.

“This boy’s reaction is somewhat strange…”

They even vaguely sensed that he seemed to know the origin of that map.

But along the way, none of them had mentioned the name “Guixu Heavenly Burial Map.” They had only referred to it as “that map.”

So how had he guessed it?

What exactly was his identity? And what did he know?

The Dao Court Ancestors’ gazes deepened like still water as they began tracing faint threads of karma in their hearts.

Yet just as they started to deduce further, a chill rose within them, as if continuing would trigger something unforeseen.

They had no choice but to stop their thoughts and instead look at Mo Hua again, recalling his background.

“Great Void Sect…”

The Great Void Sect was far from a simple sect. It had been extraordinary in the past, and now, with the convergence of the three mountains, its strength had grown even greater.

Mo Hua’s identity was unusual, he was someone close to the Great Void Sect’s ancestor.

If so, then his karmic ties could not possibly be simple. Forcing a deduction of his karma would be somewhat reckless.

Moreover, within this Endless Abyss Marsh, there was an even greater hidden danger unresolved. The Guixu Heavenly Burial Map had not yet been obtained, this was not the time to waste effort on the boy.

The ancestors extinguished their suspicions, exchanged glances, and acted as if nothing had happened.

During that brief instant earlier, Mo Hua had instinctively sensed that these Ancestors were probing his karma.

Realizing that these old monsters had grown suspicious of him, he became even more obedient, silent, not looking around, and not letting his thoughts wander.

The Dao Court ancestors continued advancing deeper into the Endless Abyss Marsh.

The deeper they went, the more oppressive the darkness became, and the greater the dangers.

Within the ancient abyss, all kinds of evil energies had mixed with the abyssal soil for who knew how long, breeding countless nameless aberrations over the river of time.

Abominations of flesh, spiritual power, and divine sense were innumerable.

Many twisted and sinister creatures were so strange that Mo Hua could not even discern what they were.

Walking through this chaotic realm, even sound, form, and the five senses—along with Divine-Sense perception—seemed to merge into one indistinct blur.

Only now did Mo Hua truly understand why the Endless Abyss Marsh was called a “forbidden land for living beings.”

Judging from the surrounding chaos and corruption, it was indeed nearly impossible for anyone to survive reaching its depths.

Even a single thread of abyssal aura was something most cultivators could not endure.

If not for the seven Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors clearing the path ahead, Mo Hua felt he would never in his life have been able to enter this abyss.

The Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors were truly powerful.

Along the way, all dangers were isolated by the power of the void.

All strange explosions, demons, heretical beings, and murderous entities were annihilated by Void power.

After an unknown length of time, they finally passed through the territory of the Great Wilderness Ancestral Court—now eroded by the abyss—and arrived at the true core of the Endless Abyss Marsh.

The real Endless Abyss Marsh was enveloped in an even denser darkness, utterly devoid of light.

Divine sense, once extended, was swallowed instantly, yielding no information whatsoever.

As Mo Hua gazed into the darkness, his vision grew hazy. From deep within his instincts, he seemed to sense a “mother body” of slaughter calling to him, urging him to step into the abyss and embrace evil.

In a daze, he stepped forward—

Suddenly, Ancestor Huá grabbed him.

Mo Hua jolted awake and looked at Ancestor Huá.

“Are you trying to die?” Ancestor Huá said coldly.

Mo Hua glanced downward and realized his right foot was suspended in midair. Beneath him was a thousand-zhang cliff, and below the cliff lay the abyss, dark and sinister, like a primordial beast opening its massive maw, waiting to devour him.

Cold sweat dripped down Mo Hua’s forehead as he trembled and withdrew his foot.

Ancestor Huá sneered. “Don’t move. Something is coming.”

Mo Hua obediently stood still.

Moments later, the darkness below churned like rolling ink or rising flames.

From within the abyss, one ferocious figure after another shot upward like flood dragons, appearing before them.

These figures were wreathed in demonic aura, grotesque and terrifying, half-human, half-demon in form. Ghostly flames coiled behind their backs like wings spreading wide. Some even had the rudiments of Dharma manifestations. Their baleful energy was immense.

Flying Strange slaves!

And more kept emerging… ten in total, hovering in the sky.

For a moment, the entire abyss surged with demonic aura like a raging sea.

The Xia clan ancestor frowned. “That Strange Dao sinner… raising so many beasts here. Just how much evil does he intend to create?”

The Jiang clan ancestor revealed a clear and upright Dharma manifestation, cold killing intent in his eyes. “Kill them all. End future troubles.”

“Agreed.”

The seven ancestors nodded and unleashed their methods to slaughter the Flying Strange Slaves.

Since they were within the Endless Abyss Marsh, it was inconvenient to unleash vast Dharma manifestations. The Strange-Dao slaves were also scattered everywhere, so more refined methods were required.

Within the pitch-black abyss, the power of Profound-Hollo-Void twisted space with radiant light of five colors.

One by one, the ferocious Flying Strange Slaves were slain.

Mo Hua stood to the side, silently watching these Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors unleash their killing techniques, using profound Void Dao spells to exterminate these man-made Dao-Sins.

Though this was not his first time witnessing such power, he still felt deep awe at the might of the Profound-Hollow-Void realm.

Unfortunately, that realm was still too distant from him. Many mysteries of void power were beyond his understanding. After watching for a long time, he could only grasp fragments from the surface of the techniques.

Among them, Ancestor Huá seemed to possess the deepest cultivation.

His methods were simple, without even summoning a Dharma manifestation, he merely wielded the Nine Petaled Heavenly Mechanism Sword. With a few flashes of sword light, he split a ferocious Flying Strange-Dao slave into pieces.

Throughout the entire battle, he remained beside Mo Hua, not moving even half a step.

After the kill, his expression remained unchanged.

As Mo Hua watched the sword light, he drifted into thought. The name “Nine Petaled Heavenly Mechanism Sword” felt strangely familiar.

At that moment, Ancestor Huá was also staring at Mo Hua.

With the other ancestors busy slaying Strange-Dao slaves and no one nearby, Ancestor Huá lowered his voice and asked:

“Who is guiding you to act as the Divine-Shaman? What are you plotting?”

Mo Hua’s heart trembled. “I am not the Divine-Shaman.”

Ancestor Huá gave a faint cold smile, neither agreeing nor denying. “And that Map… you know of it?”

“What map?” Mo Hua asked.

Then he felt pretending ignorance might be too forced and added, “The one you mentioned… related to becoming immortal?”

Ancestor Huá studied his eyes for a moment, then suddenly said:

“You truly don’t know much about the map. But as for the Divine-Shaman matter, there is no mistake.”

Mo Hua replied calmly, “I am only a Golden Core. Not long ago, I was merely at Foundation Establishment. How could a Foundation Establishment cultivator become the Desolate Wilderness Divine-Shaman?”

“If it were an ordinary Foundation Establishment, indeed not,” Ancestor Huá said indifferently.

“But you are different. There is something strange about you. There must be another hidden mastermind behind you, directing you to use Divine Dao methods in the Desolate Wilderness, allowing someone to unify the Desolate Wilderness and stir up storms…”

He paused. “That actually doesn’t matter much. There are many players in the Great Wilderness, one more or less changes little. Though the Desolate Wilderness is important, it is ultimately just a corner of the board. Whether won or lost, the game continues. At worst, it’s just a loss of chips.”

“I’m only curious…”

Ancestor Huá looked at Mo Hua deeply.

“What exactly are you plotting?”

He emphasized the word “you,” pointing directly at Mo Hua.

Mo Hua froze.

“Plotting… what?”

Ancestor Huá’s gaze grew profound as he spoke slowly:

“People in this world act for profit. The chaos of the Great Wilderness is for the Royal clan’s restoration. The Dao Court’s pacification is to maintain unity and swallow up the Great Wilderness.

“The Great Wilderness Sect wants to become a Fifth-grade sect, so they play both sides. The aristocratic clans seek profit from deadly wars. The demonic path wants its share of flesh. Those heavenly prodigies wish to enter the Dragon Pool and form their Golden Core.

“Only you…” Ancestor Huá said. “I cannot understand what you were doing in the Desolate Wilderness.”

“Those barbarian tribes have no kinship with you. Why exhaust so much effort to save them?”

“With famine everywhere and tribal wars raging, countless people die… what does that have to do with you?”

“If you intended to stay in the Desolate Wilderness your whole life, I could at least assume you wanted to establish your own foundation there, form your own Dao lineage, rule far from the Dao Court’s reach, wielding power, stirring wind and rain.”

“But you did not. After doing all this, you left the Desolate Wilderness. Perhaps not entirely of your own will… but you seem unwilling to return.”

“You simply cast aside the Divine-Shaman identity and willingly returned to being an ordinary Great Void Sect disciple, with no authority or power.”

“So tell me… what exactly are you plotting?”

Mo Hua fell silent.

After a moment, he raised his head and asked, “Ancestor, who are we?”

Ancestor Huá was startled.

Mo Hua said, “We are cultivators. Cultivators cultivate the Dao, seeking immortality.”

Ancestor Huá frowned. “What do you mean?”

Mo Hua asked in return, “Ancestor, are you truly cultivating immortality?”

“Your Huá clan exploits the famine in the Desolate Wilderness, incites war, profits immensely from it, causing living beings to collapse, people to starve everywhere, and the barbarian populace to face extinction. Can this truly be called ‘following the Heavenly Dao’?”

“It is true that people seek profit. One must survive and grow stronger. If I encounter benefits, I too would compete for them.

“But after gaining profit, then what?”

“If one exhausts all means to seize every benefit under heaven for oneself, does that lead to immortality?”

“Let alone schemes of heavenly secrets and deadly plots—burying tens of millions of lives, destroying countless families, separating husbands and wives, leaving children orphaned. Filling heaven and earth with resentment and killing intent—perhaps even giving birth to world-destroying Dao-Sin Calamities.”

“Even with greater cultivation and higher power… can that truly lead to immortality?”

Ancestor Huá said coldly, “The Dao-Sin Calamity is already dead. Heaven and earth are clear again.”

Mo Hua shook his head.

“The Dao-Sin Calamity may be dead, but karma does not end. The karma of the mortal world cannot deceive the Heavenly Blade.”

Ancestor Huá’s face twitched. He sneered.

“What do you know? How many years have you cultivated? What realm are you in? A child who has just entered the Golden Core, who hasn’t even touched the threshold of Ascension, daring to discuss the Dao with me? Daring to speak of immortality? Is this how your Great Void Sect ancestor taught you, arrogant and ignorant of your place?”

Mo Hua looked at him calmly and said nothing more.

A trace of killing intent flickered in Ancestor Huá’s eyes. After a moment, he gradually suppressed it and stopped paying attention to Mo Hua, clearly dismissing his words.

Yet deep in his eyes, there was still an undeniable tremor.

Their exchange was brief and soon ended.

Not long after, the ten Flying Strange Slaves within the Endless Abyss Marsh were completely annihilated.

The ancestors gathered again.

The Jiang clan ancestor pinched his fingers in calculation and pointed downward.

“No mistake. That Daoist is beneath this abyss.”

“With ten Strange-Dao slaves slain, his ten fingers have all been severed.”

“His fate is exhausted. Time to send him on his final journey.”

“Enter the abyss.”

Among the seven Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors, the only female cultivator took out a golden vine segment and placed it by the thousand-zhang cliff.

The vine flashed with golden light and began to grow in reverse, extending segment by segment across the abyss.

A sacred golden aura radiated from it. The evil energy of the abyss could not contaminate it in the slightest.

A supreme treasure of the Divine Dao: Heaven-Ascending Vine.

Mo Hua found it impressive, though he did not understand its origins.

The seven Dao Court Ancestors stepped onto the golden Heaven-Ascending Vine and descended, step by step, into the ten-thousand-zhang abyss.

Mo Hua followed them downward.

Even with the Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors protecting him and the golden light shielding his body, preventing evil energy from harming him, he grew inexplicably tense.

“Martial Uncle is at the bottom of the abyss…”

“What will happen next? Can these ancestors truly kill him? What if they cannot?”

The question that had troubled him for so long resurfaced.

At the same time, unseen heavenly secrets and karma seemed to turn slowly. It was as if a layer of mist shrouding heaven and earth was gradually lifting.

Mo Hua became increasingly uneasy, though he did not know why.

Subconsciously, he reviewed every memory and piece of information related to his Martial Uncle.

In an instant, his unease deepened into a vague terror.

He suddenly felt that long ago, he had overlooked something crucial.

Yet no matter how he racked his brain, he could not grasp what he had missed, whether it was his own failure to see clearly, or whether some invisible mist within heaven and earth prevented him from understanding.

Frowning, Mo Hua continued stepping into the abyss.

After an unknown length of time in darkness, he finally reached the end of the Heaven-Ascending Vine and arrived at the bottom of the abyss.

Leaving the Heaven-Ascending Vine, he stepped into the depths of the Endless Abyss Marsh.

The ground beneath his feet felt soft and damp, like stepping on rotting flesh, or perhaps into emptiness, with no real sensation at all.

Around them was an impenetrable curtain of darkness.

The seven Dao Court Ancestors advanced solemnly.

Mo Hua walked forward two steps, as if reaching the edge of truth, dispersing a layer of mist.

Suddenly, he realized what was wrong.

His face turned pale; his body trembled.

The Yang clan ancestor noticed and frowned. “What is it?”

Mo Hua’s voice was hoarse, trembling.

“Go back…”

“What?” the Yang ancestor was startled.

The other Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors’ gazes darkened.

Mo Hua seemed dazed, speaking in disbelief.

“I… long ago—even when I was still in the Qi Refining stage—knew that the Strange Daoist was a Feathered Ascension cultivator…”

“I also guessed that he would break through to Profound-Hollow-Void in the Great Wilderness…”

The Profound-Hollow-Void Ancestors frowned.

They did not understand the point.

So what if he knew? So what if he guessed it? Who in this world did not know the Strange Daoist was at the Feathered Ascension stage?

Which of them could not calculate that he intended to break through to Profound-Hollow-Void in the Great Wilderness?

But as this thought surfaced, it seemed to lift a veil.

All the ancestors felt their hearts tremble.

Why… why did everyone know the Strange Daoist was Feathered Ascension?

Even a small Qi Refining cultivator knew?

He was the Strange Daoist… bearing the title “Daoist.”

Were there truly things about him that were “common knowledge”?

And…

Why were they so certain that he would break through to Profound-Hollow-Void in the Great Wilderness?

Could a Feathered Ascension cultivator even enter the Endless Abyss Marsh?

Why did the wings of those Flying Strange Slaves look like the rudiments of Dharma manifestations?

Why… had everyone treated it as normal?

Why had they never doubted these facts?

A nameless chill rose in their hearts.

What if all of this… was false?

“What if everything they believed about the Strange Daoist was wrong…”

What if the Strange Daoist had never been at the Feathered Ascension stage from the very beginning?

Then…

A horrifying, eerie sensation descended upon their hearts.

At that very moment, karma began to turn. A bone-piercing yin wind swept through.

It was as if a pair of enormous hands tore apart the thick black curtain shrouding the depths of the Endless Abyss. Terrifying heavenly secrets burst forth wildly.

A shocking, world-destroying scene slowly unfolded before them as the curtain lifted.

Yin souls wailed and roared. Ghostly energy filled the air.

Countless wronged spirits and vengeful ghosts danced madly through heaven and earth, ferocious and blood-red.

Overturning the heavens, ghostly intent formed a vast net that covered sky and earth, like an immense, sinister formation stretching across the firmament.

Endless Strange Dao laws evolved within it… the aura of extinction and death so dense it was suffocating.

Amid twisted layers of illusion and reality stood an enormous, pitch-black Strange Dao Demonic Manifestation—condensed over an unknowable span of time—like a primordial demon god of heaven and earth, silently gazing at them.

Distorted Strange Dao power quietly devoured the void, devouring everything in heaven and earth, even sound itself.

This Profound-Hollow-Void level Strange Dao Demonic Manifestation simply stood there, watching them in silence, as if it had been watching from the very beginning.

Behind it, the vast Strange Dao formation resembled a terrifying spiderweb woven over endless years, waiting patiently for its prey.
