Chapter 351: Agreement

Mo Hua went separately to the Dao Court Division and the Dao Soldiers Division, inviting Director Zhou, Commander Yang, and Zhang Lan to Elder Yu’s residence, and explained his plan:

Build the Grand Formation and kill Feng Xi.

The moment he said the words “Grand Formation,” all three fell silent.

They had never expected that Mo Hua would bring up something like this.

Elder Yu knew of it, though he might not fully understand what a Grand Formation was—but they did.

A Grand Formation was the ultimate array any sect or founding family in the cultivation world dreamed of constructing.

With a Grand Formation, the foundation of a family or sect would be secured.

Under the restrictions of Heavenly Dao laws, once a Grand Formation was activated, one was nearly invincible, immune to attacks from other forces or provocations from enemies.

In the cultivation world, there were thousands of sects, but very few had the resources to build a protective Grand Formation.

Slaying a great demon was extremely difficult, and constructing a Grand Formation was no easier.

For a moment, no one knew what to say.

Finally, Zhang Lan asked hesitantly, “You can actually draw a Grand Formation?”

“Yes!” Mo Hua nodded.

The others fell silent again. They weren’t sure if he was joking.

It would be like a Qi-Refining stage one cultivator tomorrow claiming he had reached Foundation Establishment—absurd.

But in Mo Hua’s case, it wasn’t entirely impossible. After all, everyone had witnessed his talent in arrays.

And Mo Hua wouldn’t joke about something like this.

Seeing their hesitation, Elder Yu said, “Our demon hunters have already agreed…”

There was only one Foundation Establishment elder among the demon hunters; if he agreed, it meant all the demon hunters agreed.

“…But this matter is serious, so we still need to discuss it with everyone,” Elder Yu added, seeking opinions.

The three exchanged glances, thinking how much Elder Yu trusted Mo Hua—he agreed without hesitation.

They trusted Mo Hua too, but from the perspective of the Dao Court and Dao Soldiers Division, there were many concerns.

Commander Yang hesitated before asking, “You really can draw it?”

It wasn’t that he didn’t believe him—it was just hard to fathom.

“Yes,” Mo Hua nodded.

He then ran into the hall, chose an empty space, and laid out the hub of the Grand Formation he had drawn on the ground.

The three looked and were shaken.

What kind of array was this?

An extremely complex, large-scale formation with an unfamiliar structure—they had never seen anything like it.

“This is the hub of the Grand Formation. I gave it a try,” Mo Hua explained.

Hearing this, all three were astonished.

And this was only the hub?

The scale of the full formation must be unimaginable—could it really be a Grand Formation?

Their confidence in him grew slightly.

But this was a matter of great importance—they couldn’t decide lightly.

Director Zhou said, “We need to think this through before making a decision.”

Mo Hua nodded.

This was expected. Constructing a Grand Formation was difficult, so a careful decision was natural.

“But you’d better hurry—the pig won’t wait,” Mo Hua reminded them.

Building a Grand Formation took time. Once Feng Xi refined its blood energy and went down the mountain to hunt, it would be impossible to construct the formation.

“Don’t worry, we’ll have a decision in the next few days,” Director Zhou nodded.

Afterward, everyone left. Director Zhou took Commander Yang and Zhang Lan to the Dao Court Division, found a quiet room, and asked solemnly:

“What do you think?”

Zhang Lan thought it through, his expression serious, and said, “We can give it a try.”

Commander Yang looked surprised. “You agree already? Isn’t that a bit hasty?”

“Not hasty,” Zhang Lan shook his head. “We understand the key points and the stakes. Spending time thinking isn’t really thinking—it’s just hesitating. Ultimately, we’re just afraid to decide.”

Director Zhou and Commander Yang were silent.

From the perspective of scattered cultivators, taking a risk could be more hopeful.

But from the perspective of the Dao Court and Dao Soldiers Division, especially given their positions, the decision was difficult.

If they failed, they would be held accountable.

Director Zhou would retire in the Dao Court, and Commander Yang would advance in the Dao Soldiers Division. Taking such a risk was not very rational.

Moreover, constructing the Grand Formation required Mo Hua to actually be able to draw it.

Even if he could draw the hub, it didn’t guarantee the formation could be completed. And whether this hub truly functioned as the Grand Formation’s core was something non-array cultivators like them couldn’t understand.

Even most array masters might struggle to comprehend it fully.

To ordinary cultivators, arrays were a profound discipline. To array masters, a Grand Formation was equally intricate.

Commander Yang asked, “You really trust Mo Hua that much?”

Zhang Lan nodded. “I do.”

He looked at Yang and said, “You know him, but not fully. You don’t know how extraordinary his talent in arrays is. I do. When he says he can handle something in arrays, it’s not 100% guaranteed, but it’s extremely likely…”

Commander Yang still had doubts. “You really think he can draw a Grand Formation?”

Zhang Lan shook his head. “I trust him, but I don’t think he could do it alone.”

Commander Yang rolled his eyes. “Do you even hear yourself?”

Zhang Lan replied seriously, “I believe that since Mo Hua volunteered, he has a solution. If he says he can draw the Grand Formation, it will be done—but the person who completes it might not be him alone…”

Commander Yang was confused for a moment, then a realization struck him. “You mean…”

Zhang Lan said meaningfully, “Mo Hua has someone powerful behind him.”

Director Zhou and Commander Yang were stunned, then enlightened.

Exactly!

Even with Mo Hua’s talent, claiming he could draw a Grand Formation alone was incredible.

They could barely believe it themselves.

But if Mo Hua couldn’t do it, someone behind him could.

Mo Hua had a mysterious teacher guiding his array studies.

A teacher capable of producing a disciple like Mo Hua must be a master of unfathomable skill, capable of drawing a Grand Formation.

The great demon had appeared, and this master, unwilling to see mortal lives destroyed, used Mo Hua to help construct the formation and defend against the disaster.

It made perfect sense.

At least it sounded much more plausible than a ten-year-old array prodigy drawing a Grand Formation alone…

A hidden master orchestrating the Demon-Slaying Grand Formation—suddenly, the three felt much more at ease.

Zhang Lan speculated, “Mo Hua’s teacher probably doesn’t want to appear publicly, so Mo Hua steps forward.”

Commander Yang nodded seriously. “Masters like that keep low profiles, don’t show off, and act without drawing attention.”

Director Zhou sighed, “This is truly a blessing for the cultivators of Tōngxiān City.”

“But there’s still one question,” Commander Yang said with a hint of doubt:

“This master has no direct connection to Tōngxiān City. Why would he go to the trouble of helping us construct the formation against the demon? Is it really just out of kindness?”

Everyone frowned.

Director Zhou thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. “This master has two purposes. One, he cares for the people, to save Tōngxiān City. Two, he wants to instruct Mo Hua, letting him participate and learn the construction of a Grand Formation, so that in the future, Mo Hua can become the chief array master of a Grand Formation!”

Hearing this, Zhang Lan and Commander Yang were deeply moved.

Mo Hua’s teacher had such high expectations for him!

The chief array master of a Grand Formation was a cultivator with extraordinary skill and extensive knowledge—the leader of all array masters!

Director Zhou continued:

“Constructing the Grand Formation not only helps the cultivators of Tōngxiān City, but also helps Mo Hua gain experience and understanding, laying the foundation for him to become a chief array master in the future!”

Becoming a chief array master was profoundly significant, and this also paved the way for Mo Hua.

Commander Yang immediately nodded. “I agree!”

Director Zhou nodded. “Good! Then we unanimously agree to build the Grand Formation!”

The three made their decision. That night, Director Zhou wrote a note and sent it to Mo Hua. The note had only four simple characters: Grand Formation Approved.

It looked simple and hastily written, but it bore Director Zhou’s official seal.

This was the formal answer.

Mo Hua was surprised. He expected to wait several days, but hadn’t anticipated receiving a reply so quickly.

And Director Zhou and the others had agreed to build the Grand Formation so readily…

Why?

He thought long and hard, not realizing this was because of Mister Zhuang, and assumed everyone simply trusted him!

Mo Hua felt deeply moved, but also aware of the heavy responsibility on his shoulders. In his heart, he silently vowed:

“I must complete this Grand Formation and kill Feng Xi. I won’t let anyone down!”

But then he thought—what if he fails?

Mister Zhuang had said there were no absolutes in the world, and that unexpected events always occur…

If he couldn’t kill Feng Xi, the trouble would be enormous.

Mo Hua furrowed his brow.

Since everyone trusted him, he had to act meticulously, leaving no room for mistakes.

Even in the event of an accident, he needed a plan.

Mo Hua frowned, then gradually came up with an idea.

He still had one trump card—the Array Collapse Technique.

Looking toward the mountains, Mo Hua’s eyes gleamed coldly.

If the Five Elements Demon-Slaying Grand Formation failed to kill the great demon, he would collapse the formation and send Feng Xi to the afterlife directly!
