Chapter 469: Little Tiger

Chapter 470: Little Tiger

“Have some time, I need to go check the mine…”

Mo Hua thought silently to himself.

He wanted to know what these walking corpses were actually doing in the mine.

But he couldn’t leave yet.

Mo Hua left the main gate of the Stone Hall, wandered around briefly, and then went back to sleep properly.

Over the next few days, Mo Hua used his complete concealment technique to secretly observe the situation inside the Stone Hall without Lu Chengyun knowing.

There were indeed many zombies here, and their strength was considerable.

Even stronger than the visible power of the Lu family.

If one day, the Lu family refused to let Lu Chengyun be the head of the family,

and Lu Chengyun gave the order, controlling the iron corpses and walking corpses, he might truly be able to destroy the Lu family…

Mo Hua frowned, pondering.

Could it be that the Lu family patriarch was wary of this, which is why Lu Chengyun was made the head?

But that didn’t seem quite right.

Building such a large Stone Hall, raising so many zombies—

it would require many body cultivators, formation masters, corpse cultivators, plus herbs for corpses, coffins, corpse-controlling bells, and bodies…

Converted into manpower and material resources, it was not a small sum.

Without the support of the Lu family, Lu Chengyun definitely could not have built it.

There were probably still secrets between the Lu family patriarch and Lu Chengyun…

But there were too few clues, so Mo Hua couldn’t guess for now.

Mo Hua thought it was time to contact his Little Senior Brother and Little Senior Sister.

Coordination from inside and outside would make things easier.

In case of an emergency, they could help him.

Mo Hua took out a map, showing the terrain of the Lu family’s mines.

He also took out a sheet of paper and, from memory, sketched the entrance of the corpse mine and the approximate location of the Stone Hall.

By comparing the two, he roughly estimated the Stone Hall’s position within the mine.

Then, based on the location, he could infer where the stone walls were thinnest, so he could dig a way out.

First, his current room wouldn’t work.

Looking at the map, Mo Hua realized his stone chamber was deep inside the hall, with the thickest stone walls to the outside, meaning it would take the longest to dig out.

Moreover, the surrounding area was full of formations—any dig would trigger them.

These formations couldn’t be touched.

Lu Chengyun was also a formation master, and his mastery of formations was impressive.

If he hadn’t noticed Mo Hua’s presence before, a small tweak in the formations might go unnoticed temporarily.

But now, under his watch, any reckless tampering would surely be detected.

Mo Hua also suspected that the formations in the Stone Hall were integrated as one system.

Lu Chengyun would definitely use some means to monitor the formations throughout the hall.

Otherwise, Mo Hua wouldn’t have been discovered immediately after dismantling the Dust-Revealing Formation.

He had dismantled that formation deliberately, to let Lu Chengyun notice.

But now, digging a tunnel must remain undetected.

At night, slipping past Lu Chengyun, Mo Hua went to a few stone chambers on the right side of the hall.

These chambers were empty, clearly newly excavated, uninhabited, with no coffins inside.

Based on Mo Hua’s comparison, these chambers were closest to the outside stone walls, making them easiest to dig. Even better, there were very few formations here.

This was the weakest spot in the Stone Hall’s formations, as calculated by Mo Hua.

A small tunnel would be enough.

Mo Hua took out a little tiger.

It was a wooden puppet, given to him by Old Kui. It felt like wood but was unusually tough.

The Little Tiger had the Spirit-Pivot Formation drawn on it by Mo Hua.

The Spirit-Pivot Formation was used for control.

Additionally, its limbs and teeth had the Sharp-Gold Formation, allowing the puppet’s hands and feet to be sharp enough to dig through stone effortlessly.

Mo Hua intended to use the Little Tiger to deliver messages.

He couldn’t leave personally for now.

So a small tunnel would suffice.

Mo Hua found a hidden corner, placed the Little Tiger there, then controlled it with his Divine Sense, guiding it to dig through the stone using the Spirit-Pivot Formation.

The formations on the Little Tiger glowed slightly, and it came alive, running a few circles around Mo Hua, then finding a corner to scratch with its small paws. Small stones fell rapidly, and soon a fist-sized tunnel appeared.

The Little Tiger went in and continued digging outward.

Within the tunnel, fragments of stone continuously fell.

Mo Hua thought for a moment, then drew a concealed earth-type formation to dissolve all the debris, preventing detection.

After that, Mo Hua returned to his room.

Whether day or night, as long as Lu Chengyun wasn’t watching, Mo Hua remotely controlled the Little Tiger to dig the tunnel.

In the silent corpse mine, among the blackened stones,

the Little Tiger dug tirelessly, gradually moving farther away.

A few days later, Mo Hua felt a sudden lightness in his Divine Sense, realizing there was no more stone left to dig.

“The tunnel’s done!”

He rejoiced in his heart.

Mo Hua then let the Little Tiger lie in the grass, waiting for either his Little Senior Brother or Little Senior Sister to find it.

Once he left Tongxian City, they would surely know.

If they searched for him, they would likely look near the mine.

The Little Tiger, being from Old Kui and handled many times by Mo Hua, was familiar to his senior disciples. A scan with Divine Sense would reveal it immediately.

The area near the mine was open, making it unlikely that other cultivators would find it.

Mo Hua waited until dawn.

Then, moving his Divine Sense slightly, he saw the Little Tiger being picked up, the aura familiar.

It was either Little Senior Brother or Little Senior Sister.

After the Little Tiger was picked up, something seemed to be placed on it. A moment later, it was thrown back into the tunnel.

Mo Hua again controlled the Little Tiger to climb back.

The Little Tiger returned to the entrance and waited quietly.

Only after midnight, when Lu Chengyun’s Divine Sense left, did Mo Hua conceal himself and retrieve the dusty, dirty Little Tiger.

On its belly was a note.

Mo Hua unfolded it. The handwriting was delicate and beautiful, with a sentence:

“Where have you been?”

There was also a simple drawing.

A little face with a stick tapping its head.

The drawing was unmistakably by Little Senior Sister. The face was Mo Hua, being tapped on the head.

It seemed she was a little angry…

Mo Hua felt helpless and put the note he had prepared into the Little Tiger, explaining the events, including the corpse mine and Stone Hall.

The note also had a small formation drawn; if someone else got it, Mo Hua could make it self-immolate with Divine Sense.

He placed the Little Tiger back at the tunnel entrance.

The Little Tiger scurried up again.

The next night, it returned, and Mo Hua saw a new note attached, simply saying:

“Got it.”

There was also a little face, expressionless.

It seemed she was no longer angry…

Mo Hua breathed a slight sigh of relief and left the Little Tiger in the tunnel to relay messages to his senior disciples.

He would remain cautious for now.

His Little Senior Brother and Little Senior Sister outside could also be prepared in advance.

Two days later, Lu Chengyun finally found Mo Hua, clasped his hands politely:

“I’ve made all preparations. Please, young sir, assist me.”

Mo Hua’s eyes brightened. He asked:

“What do you want me to help with, Head of Family?”

“Follow me, young sir.”

Lu Chengyun gestured politely.

Mo Hua followed him out, through the corridors of the Stone Hall, circling around, arriving at the previous main hall.

Zhang Quan was there, and upon seeing Mo Hua, snorted coldly.

But he didn’t say anything or dare to attack Mo Hua.

Mo Hua snorted in return, while secretly planning how to trap Zhang Quan and then steal his ancestor.

Lu Chengyun saw the tension but, as neither acted, nodded slightly.

“Brother Zhang, open the door.”

Zhang Quan’s eyes focused. He nodded: “Alright.”

Mo Hua was momentarily stunned, confused.

“Open the door? What door?”

There was no visible door here.

Mo Hua frowned, then saw Zhang Quan approach a massive wall.

On the wall was a mural, depicting vicious zombies, terrified cultivators, overturned coffins, and hands reaching out from them.

Zhang Quan chanted incantations and made hand seals over the mural.

Mo Hua was slightly stunned.

The movements looked familiar.

Similar to what he had seen in front of the screen at the Walking Corpse Village, but more complex, with longer incantations.

So this mural, like the screen, was the entrance to a secret chamber?

Sure enough, moments later, the lines on the mural merged into a blot of ink, layers forming clearly, revealing a half-human, half-corpse face.

The face was stern and harsh, eyes greedy.

Being part corpse, it looked grotesque and terrifying.

The face opened its mouth wider and wider until it became a blood-red maw.

The fangs on both sides were sharp, with top and bottom teeth like a demon beast.

This mouth was the entrance.

Lu Chengyun said: “Young sir, please!”

He then walked toward the mural.

Mo Hua hesitated briefly, then followed him into the blood-red mouth of the zombie.
