Runic World. Labyrinth of Caves L2.
Team 8911 was exploring with Runic Torches in their hands.
Suddenly, a strange sound was heard.
“What’s that sound?”
Zhou Hong was the first to react. She turned around and looked up, stunned at the sight of a weird-looking blank face looking at her.
The sudden appearance of the face scared Zhou Hong so much that she screamed and subconsciously hurled a fireball at it.
Then, the unexpected happened.
The face actually exploded upon being hit by her fireball. And a heart that was glowing light green appeared in its place.
“It-it’s a drop?”
Looking at the light green light, Zhou Hong was dumbfounded. The other members of Team 8911 were equally dumbfounded.
One casual fireball had earned them a green drop. Who would believe this?
“As expected of Sister Hong! Your luck is simply extraordinary!”
“Quickly check! Quickly check what dropped!”
Team 8911 excitedly rushed over to pick up the loot. Suddenly, a burly figure appeared beside the glowing heart in the next second. The figure picked up the heart.
“What the-? How dare you steal our loot?”
“Sister Hong! F*ck him-!”
Boom!
Before Team 8911 could finish speaking, the burly figure blasted the surrounding walls open, revealing its full two-meter-tall figure of bulging muscles.
He was wearing an exquisite-looking black leather armor on his upper body, had a yellow scarf on his head, a ferocious big blade in his hand, and black combat boots on his feet. The frightening sight of his appearance silenced Team 8911.
Although the Yellow’s equipment was not shiny, they could tell that the leather armor, the fierce-looking sword, and even those shoes were not ordinary items.
Those who could afford to wear such Runic Armaments were definitely big shots – not to mention that Yellow possessed such an intimidating aura.
That ‘fierce’ gaze of his made their scalps go numb.
However, Zhou Hong gathered the courage to step up and angrily spoke her grievances: “Senior, you just took our loot!”
“What makes you think that it belongs to you?”
At this moment, Wu Wei made his descent.
Looking at the four familiar figures in front of him, Wu Wei roughly understood what was happening. He immediately started to feel his head hurt.
“Why are you guys here?”
On the other side, Team 8911’s expressions changed when they saw Wu Wei.
Zhou Hong, in particular, became extremely excited. She immediately leaned over and asked: “Brother Wu? Is it really you, Brother Wu?
Then, is this big guy your summon? And the one earlier, too?
I didn’t believe Captain Zhou Tian when he told me you were a Runic Summoner. To think it was true!
However, you are much stronger than any Runic Summoner I’ve seen.
Let me tell you, our team also used to have a Runic Summoner. His surname was Wu – just like yours. His full name was Wu Wei.
However, that guy really just couldn’t make it. His first Core Rune was a useless Yellow Turban Soldier! Also, he was socially inept; because of him, I thought all Runic Summoners were like that.
Now that I see you, I know there are no trash classes – only trash people!”
“Oh right, Brother Wu, I accidentally injured your summon just now! I’m sorry, Brother Wu. How about this, let’s add each other’s Runic IDs so I can treat you to a meal as an apology?”
Seeing Zhou Hong ramble on and on confused Wu Wei.
At first, when Zhou Hong had called him Brother Wu, Wu Wei thought that she had recognized him, but now, it seemed that there was a more giant misunderstanding.
It was clear that Zhou Tian had not mentioned his full name to her!
Hearing his former captain’s enthusiastic back-handed remarks, Wu Wei started to have mixed feelings.
As a considerate person, Wu Wei chose not to clear up the misunderstanding.
“There’s no need to treat me to a meal. It’s a small matter. Oh right, you guys only arrived here today, right? How did you guys get to the second level so quickly?”
Although she was a little disappointed that she didn’t achieve her goal, Zhou Hong happily answered Wu Wei’s question.
“Because we have a map!”
“A map?”
“That’s right. A map of this Labyrinth of Caves. This was drawn by a sophomore senior. He sells it in Maple Leaf Town for 2 Runic Stones apiece!”
As Zhou Hong spoke, she took out a map – specifically, a ‘directory.’
Wu Wei took it from her and looked at it.
His mood was slightly dampened when he saw how incredibly detailed the map was.
It even showed the route from the entrance.
The first page depicted the main cave, and there were markings of all the branching tunnels and notations of the monsters residing in each of the smaller caves.
Wu Wei noticed that his path was marked with a red mark with the following note.
[The strongest Runic Monster of the first level of this Labyrinth, Spider Queen, resides here. Please do not approach carelessly.]
In addition, he also saw an area marked out for golems.
Looking at this map caused Wu Wei to feel extremely disheartened.
If he had had such a map in his hands when he came, he would not have his Runic Spirit Pills just to dig a hole – and Golem’s fate would have been different.
He had suffered losses equivalent to 50 Runic Stones, but 2 Runic Stones would have saved him all that trouble.
“Umm… where did you buy this map? Do you have another you could spare me?”
Zhou Hong replied shyly: “Brother Wu, if you don’t mind, I’ll give you this one. Take it as an apology for accidentally hurting your summon!”
“Alright, bye!”
Wu Wei was straightforward. He immediately put the map in his pocket, called Yellow, and left!
The abrupt manner of his departure left Zhou Hong flabbergasted.
What would it take for him to add her as a friend?
After regaining her senses, she attempted to catch up to Wu Wei but realized that he was now far from sight.
Looking at the empty air, Zhou Hong could only retract her gaze with regret.
“Sigh, I missed another opportunity to hug his thigh!
“Our team is still one person short. We will definitely soar if we can pull him into our team!”
“Sister Hong, you don’t have to be too disappointed. Our luck has been pretty good recently.”
“That’s right. We earned more than 100 Runic Stones back in the secret dungeon, and today, we were also able to earn dozens of Runic Stones by selling maps here in Labyrinth of Caves. Not to mention we even found a treasure chest! We’ve earned 100 Runic Stones just today!”
“That’s what I’m talking about. Before, we were being dragged down by Wu Wei. Now that he’s not around, we’re doing better!”
“Yes, yes, yes. When that kid left, he said those words as if we wouldn’t be able to survive in the Runic World without him. Now, if he finds out that we are doing well, he will probably cry and beg to join us, won’t he?”
Zhou Hong clapped her hands.
“Alright, alright, let’s not dawdle about. There’s still some time until 6pm. Let’s keep it up!”
Team 8911 continued on.
