361 The Bronze Land
Indeed, the flame longevity technique was potent. However, due to the urgency of the situation, Qin Huai could only channel five years of power into his flame longevity technique. There was no helping it. Wen Zonghao was simply too fast.
“Qin Huai! You’ve genuinely taken me by surprise!” Wen Zonghao was livid, the murderous intent in his eyes intensifying.
His overwhelming power bore down like an avalanche, causing Qin Huai’s breath to hitch. However, the white light in the latter’s eyes shone brighter, resolutely warding off the monstrous power.
Still, there was no escape. The substantial difference in power became apparent to Qin Huai after those two exchanges. Unless given sufficient time, he would be unable to pose a genuine threat to Wen Zonghao.
Meanwhile, the strange green gas in the surroundings grew denser as Qin Huai gritted his teeth, pushing his four-directional tiger-wolf technique and the nine dragons true qi technique to their utmost limits.
!!
“Forbidden technique, three beasts!” He hurled a punch at Wen Zonghao. His formidable power seemed eager to dissipate Wen Zonghao’s killing intent.
“Useless. Your previous attack did nothing. How can such a move kill me now?” Wen Zonghao sneered dismissively.
Boom!
With a thunderous sound, Qin Huai punched out. The explosive force reduced the surrounding debris to dust. Yet, Wen Zonghao remained unscathed at the heart of the attack, revealing a mocking smile on his face.
The next moment, however, the smile froze on his face. A massive amount of the strange green gas had started to envelop Qin Huai, akin to a giant beast gradually consuming him.
“No!” Wen Zonghao’s expression twisted in dread as he finally realized Qin Huai’s intention. “Even after entering the strange land, you won’t escape death!”
Simultaneously, Wen Zonghao threw a punch at Qin Huai. The giant python apparition erupted from his fist, swallowing both Qin Huai and the strange green gas.
Bang!
The giant python’s mouth snapped shut and exploded in mid-air. Dust and smoke billowed up, and the waves roiled. Water cascaded from the sky like a torrential downpour into the Qingzhou River.
Standing amidst the storm, Wen Zonghao watched with a grim expression as the blood in the river rapidly diluted.
“Has he entered the strange land… He must be dead now,” he mused, his gaze on the turbulent Qingzhou River obscured by complex emotions.
…
Qin Huai found himself trapped in an endless fog, forced to deactivate his dragon king form.
Blood spattered all around, his body riddled with dozens of severe wounds. If it weren’t for the support of his dragon king form, all of his bones would have been crushed under Wen Zonghao’s attack.
Thankfully, he was now seated cross-legged on the ground, activating the blood heart technique. His injuries began to heal visibly. All the while, he was anxiously observing the peculiar fog around him.
The roar of a colossal beast echoed in his ears. An enormous shadow, almost a hundred meters tall, whizzed past at the edge of the foggy sky. Ground-shaking entities, comparable in size to small mountains, ambled nearby.
Qin Huai Jing tensed up, preparing himself for battle at a moment’s notice.
After some time, the strange fog around him began to thin, revealing peculiar traces on the ground. A wave of pain shot through his feet, and despite his injuries, he forced himself to stand up, refraining from using his energy to heal.
To his surprise, the ground began to emit a soft green glow. Memories of the old man’s words in Storm Tower flooded his mind, prompting him to crouch down for a closer look.
“It’s really the bronze land!” Qin Huai was taken aback. To the naked eye, it appeared as though he was standing on bronze ground covered in dust and sand, with thick snake-like bulges scattered across it.
“That old man… He must have really visited this strange place,” he thought, dumbfounded.
Just as he raised his head, a gust of wind swept past him, causing his hair to billow. A giant bird, its green wings spanning more than ten meters, charged toward Qin Huai. Its beak, adorned with mystic patterns, shone like a treasured weapon.
Instantly, Qin Huai activated his boiling blood and blood dragon form. White dragon and snake patterns illuminated the gaps in his muscles as an overwhelming power surged from within him. At the same time, fresh blood began to seep from his reopened wounds, draining the color from his face.
Boom!
The giant beast came to a halt right before Qin Huai. The flapping of its enormous wings generated a whirlwind, filling his sight with flying dust.
Struggling to maintain his footing, he sank a couple of meters into the ground. Startled, he realized that this malevolent bird possessed the strength equivalent to the fifth-level bone pattern realm.
“Rise!”
Qin Huai ordered his muscles, once again, to surge with blood, pushing his energy to its limits. As he shouted the command, faint roars of a tiger and howls of a wolf echoed around him. Within seconds, he had pinned the formidable bird to the ground.
Boom!
Dust swirled as Qin Huai raised his fist, the tip glowing with white light. Blood quickly infused it, triggering the roars of tigers and wolves.
“Forbidden technique, three beasts!”
As he unleashed the forbidden technique, he landed a heavy punch on the vicious bird’s head. What followed was a relentless barrage of forceful punches, as Qin Huai spared no effort in his assault.
Bang!
With a final, echoing sound, the bird let out a mournful cry, and its once formidable aura drastically dwindled. The bird’s skull, shattered from the onslaught, collapsed on the ground, its eyes slowly losing their life. As its eyelids mournfully closed, the world quieted down.
Gasping for breath, Qin Huai surveyed his bloodied body, stained with both the bird’s blood and his own.
“I’ve barely entered this strange place and I’ve already encountered a vicious bird at the fifth-level bone pattern realm… This truly is a bad omen,” he murmured, his eyes heavy with dread.
Overwhelmed by the peculiar environment surrounding him, he continued to cautiously scan his surroundings.
