Chapter 148: Tisha Xia'er (Three)
The moment Punk saw the small wooden box beneath Tisha Xia’er’s abdomen, he immediately activated the “Anywhere Door” spell stored in his Master-level Robe—a spell that could be used three times per day.
Though the dusty little wooden box looked like an ordinary sewing kit commonly found in poor households, emitting not a trace of magical fluctuation, anyone with keen eyes could see a thumb-thick stream of energy continuously emanating from the box’s center and flowing into Tisha Xia’er’s body.
Without a doubt, this was the Legendary Equipment Punk had been dreaming of!
After opening the Anywhere Door, Punk extended a Mage Hand through the portal, with the exit point set right beside the wooden box. His Mage Hand traversed spatial distance to reach for the box.
As for Kangkai—still suspended mid-air with depleted Battle Aura—the jointed bone blade thrust toward the ranger’s heart, and the swarm of self-destructing spiderlings leaping toward Bahanger, Punk paid them no mind.
Why had he gone through all the trouble of forming a black ops team to take down Tisha Xia’er? Wasn’t it precisely for this Legendary Equipment with a 100% drop rate? If he could obtain the equipment, Punk would absolutely turn and flee immediately. As for what might happen to the abandoned Bahanger and Kangkai, Punk’s attitude was: You can all die here! It’d be perfect if you perish together with Tisha Xia’er!
However, Tisha Xia’er—though having lost two limbs and gone berserk—hadn’t been rendered stupid. Her reaction speed remained undiminished.
The moment Punk used the “Anywhere Door,” Tisha Xia’er immediately recognized his intention. Fury made every inch of her carapace tremble, and her enraged roar seemed to be forcibly squeezed from her throat.
“No, damned heretic!”
In her frantic state, Tisha Xia’er instantly contracted her abdomen, launching several dozen glowing green spiderlings that struck Punk’s extended Mage Hand like cannonballs.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!!”
The terrifying high-energy explosions directly shattered the Mage Hand’s spell structure. At that moment, Punk’s Mage Hand was merely one centimeter away from the wooden box!
“Damn it!”
Punk cursed bitterly in his heart. This assault had clearly failed, and Tisha Xia’er would definitely heighten her vigilance. Finding another opportunity like this would be nearly impossible.
Despite his deep disappointment, Punk knew they were still in the heat of battle. Seeing over a dozen dark green spiderlings attempting to crawl through the Anywhere Door, he had no choice but to reluctantly terminate the spell.
Though this attempt had failed, the trio gained one piece of bad news and one piece of good news from the encounter.
The good news was—Kangkai’s life was saved. Because Tisha Xia’er had to focus entirely on countering Punk’s “backdoor attack,” she missed her chance to strike the nearly defenseless ranger. After a second of recovery time, Kangkai gritted his teeth and mobilized his faintly recovered Battle Aura to leap aside in mid-air.
The bad news was—Tisha Xia’er had truly gone mad!
From excessive energy circulation, her entire black carapace had transformed into an eerie dark green. Instead of pursuing the evading Kangkai, she used her fastest speed to first dig the small wooden box out from the ground, then swallowed it whole. However, at the very moment the wooden box left the ground, the pillar of faith energy that had been connected to Tisha Xia’er’s body abruptly severed.
“So that’s it. The reason the equipment was kept on the ground was to absorb energy.”
The wooden box had been removed, and in the cavity left behind, even with his perception greatly impaired, Punk detected a massive torrent of energy. It seemed vast amounts of energy were being concentrated in this room through some magical circuit, channeled into that small wooden box, and ultimately converted into faith energy to be absorbed by Tisha Xia’er—a being without divinity.
By this point in the battle, Punk had formed several theories about Tisha Xia’er’s actions.
“It appears this was once a mage’s laboratory. That mage was likely a Master-Level expert who possessed that mysterious Legendary Equipment and conducted research on faith energy here until one day meeting with misfortune.
Hmm, that ‘misfortune’ was probably caused by the creator of this Great Rift—a Legendary Sword Saint!
Then this experimental base was abandoned until Tisha Xia’er arrived. She obtained this Legendary Equipment and activated the base’s defense system—that construct behemoth. But Tisha Xia’er clearly lacks sufficient alchemical knowledge, so she couldn’t modify the base’s energy circuits, not even performing basic renovations. Yet the operation of Legendary Equipment consumes enormous amounts of energy, forcing her to remain immobilized in this stone chamber during her advancement!”
Punk believed his deductions were at least eighty to ninety percent accurate. Since Tisha Xia’er wasn’t the true master of this abandoned base, there was no need to worry about her arbitrarily drawing power from the elemental pool.
After all, fighting on home turf versus away turf were completely different concepts. If Tisha Xia’er truly controlled this base, Punk would have no choice but to turn and flee!
Although this stone chamber couldn’t be considered Tisha Xia’er’s home ground, the combat prowess of this giant spider was nothing to scoff at—especially when she was completely unrestrained and utterly mad!
The interrupted Tisha Xia’er no longer seemed concerned about resource consumption or hidden cards. She screamed in furious roars:
“You ruined my advancement! You destroyed all my hopes! All my efforts have been wasted! I’ll extract your souls and soak them in acid venom! I’ll make you wish you were dead!”
As Tisha Xia’er roared, a dark green ring rapidly formed beneath her feet. With the final syllable of her scream, the emerald ring swiftly expanded, transforming into a circular haze of pale green mist that spread across the ground. Everything it touched corroded into boiling pus.
“Extremely dangerous. Must not make contact!”
This was Punk’s first instinct upon seeing the green mist.
Within mere seconds, the green mist had reached Punk’s feet. He hastily activated the solidified spell on his Master-Level Robe—Chaos Cloak. As for his precious Golem Number One… Punk could no longer afford to worry about it!The filthy, murky black energy rapidly enveloped Punk’s entire body, eventually forming a tattered cloak that constantly shifted in shape. The moment it made contact with the cloak, the mist was broken down into a chaotic mix of various elements—sparks of fire, electric currents, and water vapor scattered wildly at the point where the cloak and mist met.
By now, Punk had three layers of defense on his body—the Chaos Cloak, Greater Mage Armor, and Deflection Field!
Even so, the mist was only barely held at bay, a testament to the sheer terror of Tisha Xia’er’s attack this time.
Equally aware of the danger, Kangkai activated one of his necklaces. A pillar of pure white light enveloped him just before the green mist could reach!
Formal-Level Divine Spell—Euboean Etherealization!
Tisha Xia’er is about to be finished! Once they return to Doleiz, it’ll be a fierce struggle between Punk, Kangkai, and Bahanger. Hurry and subscribe!
