Chapter 506: Signing
Drafting the contract terms wasn’t particularly troublesome. Following Punk, Kane and “Smile”—who still had a dagger pressed against her neck—both wrote their required clauses on the parchment. Thus, the information on the parchment now appeared as follows:
First came a section of elegant italicized “regular script” handwriting, which constituted Punk’s contract terms:
“The ‘Crimson Sand God’s Treasure Adventure’ shall commence from the moment this contract is signed and shall only conclude when all three present parties have obtained the Crimson Sand God’s treasure and completely moved beyond each other’s perception range through any means, or when all parties mutually agree the plan can no longer proceed. During this period, all signatories are prohibited from engaging in any hostile actions against one another!
Regarding loot distribution—should the ‘Crimson Sand God’ adventure succeed, spellcaster Punk Cyan shall have the right to claim all Divinity from the Crimson Sand God’s treasure, two-thirds of all magical materials, and the damaged God Realm. Any magic equipment discovered shall be distributed according to professional requirements and alignment suitability, though Punk Cyan retains priority selection rights!”
Punk’s contract terms could be described as wildly ambitious. While these clauses appeared to follow standard adventurer loot distribution templates, Punk had positioned himself as the majority-share leader, claiming two-thirds of the wealth and an entire God Realm from the outset, while showing no willingness to share even the slightest portion of Divinity.
Regardless of feasibility, Punk immediately staked his claims first—after all, this was how bargaining worked.
The next to write after Punk was the slightly trembling “Smile”. Since the Sarathiel Family had degenerated into becoming synonymous with “bottom-feeder thief clans,” the unsystematically educated “Smile” struggled with penmanship, her characters appearing somewhat crooked:
“Alice Saratira accepts Punk Cyan’s definitions regarding the ‘commencement and conclusion’ of the ‘Crimson Sand God’s Treasure Adventure.’ Should this adventure succeed, ‘Alice Saratira’ requires only the Crimson Sand God’s remaining Divinity as compensation!
Punk’s criteria for initiating and concluding the ‘Crimson Sand God Adventure’ are entirely reasonable, hence ‘Smile’ raises no objections to Punk’s contract terms. She desires only the Divinity, and nothing but the Divinity.
As the weaker party currently, ‘Smile’ possesses no qualifications to overreach!”
Next came Kane’s turn to write on the Eye of Judgment contract. When the cautious knight saw Punk’s initial paragraph, he maintained his smiling expression, but upon reaching the loot distribution section, his writing arm abruptly stiffened…
“Bloody hell! Punk, are you having me on? These damned terms show absolutely no sincerity!”
Kane threw down his quill and pointed accusingly at Punk while shouting loudly. Just as Punk had anticipated, it would’ve been truly astonishing if Kane hadn’t objected to these terms. Punk’s outrageous demands had provoked even crude language from the knight.
“Cyan, you must realize this is impossible!”
Maintaining the blade firmly against “Smile’s” neck, Kane declared emphatically to Punk in loud protest.”This treaty meant to fool idiots is pure nonsense! Cyan, are you putting yourself in the role of Boss here? Even if you were the leader of an adventure group, you couldn’t possibly exploit your subordinates like this!”
Exaggeratedly brandishing his Lance, Kane’s expression showed absolutely no hint of jest—his refusal was dead serious. If they really went along with Punk’s distribution method, wouldn’t all his efforts, risks, and hard work become a complete joke? Before Punk could even respond, Kane immediately laid out his own demands:
“I admit you’re the strongest, Punk, but don’t push your luck too far. After we get the treasures, you can toss useless stuff like the Divinity to some Little Girl if you want, but the remaining Divinity, magical materials, and the God Realm should be split evenly between us. That’s my bottom line—no negotiations!”
“Split evenly? Fine with the magical materials, but can the God Realm really be divided in half? And its control permissions can’t possibly allow two people to manage it at once, right?”
With a disdainful glance at the now-silent Kane, Punk silently calculated the value of the “God Realm.” Of course, he knew his outrageous, lion’s-share demand wouldn’t win Kane’s approval, but negotiation was all about testing and haggling. Now that Punk had leveraged his strength and status to drive up the “price,” it wouldn’t be easy for Kane to “bargain” it down.
Splitting the God Realm evenly was, of course, impossible—it simply wasn’t something that could be divided. Kane understood this too, so he ignored the sarcasm and stated clearly to Punk:
“Alright then, since the God Realm can’t be split, this massive treasure is destined for only one person. However, the one who gets the God Realm must make concessions on the other treasures. How about it? After all, even a damaged God Realm holds immense value.”
Kane was serious. Hearing this, Punk’s eyes flickered with surprise and delight.
In fact, Kane’s proposal aligned quite well with Punk’s own intentions. Punk had little interest in the God Realm, especially since it was a “half-wrecked” one. He even felt that acquiring such a sensitive item would only create complications for him.
Of course, Kane’s mention that the “God Realm still has value” carried its own implications—it suggested the knight had intel indicating the God Realm remained highly valuable. And Kane’s remark about “yielding some benefits” to the one who obtained the God Realm hinted at his own strong interest in it.
In this regard, Punk and Kane were unexpectedly on the same page. What Punk needed most were those five portions of Divinity. As for the God Realm… to secure the full five portions of Divinity, he could accept letting Kane have it.
So, as soon as Kane finished speaking, Punk promptly replied with seriousness:
“In that case, let’s settle it like this—all of the Crimson Sand God’s ‘Divinity’ goes to me, and the Crimson Sand God’s God Realm belongs to you. Once ‘Smile’ ascends to godhood, she’ll transfer the God Realm’s permissions directly to you. As for the various materials, I’ll take two-thirds, and you take one-third.”Punk’s tone was anything but polite; the look in his eyes resembled a “command” more than a “negotiation.”
This time, Kane did not continue to deny Punk’s proposal.
Although it was clear that Kane was still very displeased with Punk taking two-thirds of the magical materials, “the one who obtains the God Realm must concede a significant portion of the benefits” was something he himself had just stated. Kane had originally thought Punk would continue to haggle, but he never expected this greedy mage to simply hand over the God Realm to him.
Despite his dissatisfaction, Kane had to admit this was a win-win situation. After all, Punk had guessed correctly—for reasons unknown to Punk, Kane was indeed very interested in the Crimson Sand God’s “dilapidated God Realm.”
So, tilting his head in thought, Kane waved his hand and altered the contract on the Eye of Judgment, aligning all the terms with Punk’s final proposal. Then, the quill carrying Kane’s soul energy swiftly and elegantly signed Kane’s name—Kane Bisadas!
Kane had agreed!
