Chapter 340: Dual Transformations

The Dragon Ascension Tribulation was a trial all flood dragons yearned for. The South Flood Dragon Clan had exhausted all means to gather resources, all for the sake of elevating one of their own to the level where it could undergo this heavenly ordeal.

Yet for nearly five hundred years, not a single flood dragon from the South Flood Dragon Clan had reached the threshold to trigger the Dragon Ascension Tribulation.

To pass meant becoming a True Dragon soaring through the heavens. To fail meant being reduced to ashes beneath the tribulation’s might.

Though the tribulation descended upon only a small area, its influence spread boundlessly.

Demonic beasts and contract beasts especially felt this innate bloodline suppression, as if some primordial colossus was slowly awakening to announce its existence to the world.

Even the two six-star contract beasts and two six-star demonic beasts were affected.

Having reached the Unity Stage through instinctual cultivation proved their powerful bloodlines. Yet even their ancestors would have no choice but to prostrate themselves before a True Dragon.

Boom—

The thunderous tribulation crashed down, shaking every observer to their core with palpable dread.

Many had witnessed five-star beasts advancing to six-star before, but none had ever seen anything as terrifying as this unknown heavenly tribulation.

A soldier gulped nervously—even facing the black tide of a Nation-Destroying Beast Tide hadn’t made him this apprehensive.

In the distant storm clouds, the serpentine silhouette of a colossal beast flickered in and out of view. The lightning illuminated its form, and though he doubted his eyes, the soldier swore the giant serpent had four legs—unlike any snake he’d ever seen.

“What… is that? A snake with legs?”

Old Feng recalled Jiang Li’s words by his bedside a year ago, his excitement beyond words.

“That’s a dragon! A dragon!”

Had someone told him a year ago that a contract beast could advance from zero stars to six stars in a single year, he’d have scoffed at such obvious trickery—only fools would believe such nonsense.

Yet now, the Dragon Ascension Tribulation unfolded before his very eyes.

Then another thought struck Old Feng—if six-star contract beasts were already the pinnacle of power in Lingxi World, how terrifying must Jiang Li be to elevate Little Green Snake to True Dragon status in just one year?

That so-called “Nine Provinces World” was surely an understatement. Perhaps the legendary Immortal Realm itself was called the Nine Provinces World!

The more he pondered, the more plausible it seemed.

“Dragon?”

None present had ever heard of such a creature, leaving them utterly bewildered.

Using high-powered telescopes, the command center finally obtained a clear view of this mysterious being.

Their first impressions: massive, terrifying, noble, transcendent, and utterly unfathomable.

Stretching five hundred meters long, it resembled a world-devouring serpent with emerald scales radiating vibrant vitality. Its four claws exuded primordial strength, its horns jutted proudly, and its vertical pupils reflected cold indifference.

Countless tribulation bolts struck the majestic creature, only to make its scales gleam more brilliantly.

Noticing the command center’s observation, the being cast an icy glance toward the scouts. Every monitoring device aimed at it instantly shattered.

The scouts froze, feeling as if some indescribable entity had fixed its gaze upon them.

As the tribulation ended, the storm clouds dispersed, leaving crystal-clear skies and absolute silence across the land.

The flood dragon had ascended. Little Green Snake had survived the Dragon Ascension Tribulation, her bloodline transformed as she officially stepped into the Unity Stage—becoming a True Dragon.

The colossal azure dragon vanished, replaced by a classical beauty with waterfall-like black hair. Jade-green dragon horns crowned her head above alluring cherry lips, while her icy draconic pupils added an irresistible charm that stirred men’s primal desires to conquer.

Her pale green shirt strained against ample curves, barely containing them, while slender legs remained mostly exposed beneath a willowy waist.

Little Green Snake glanced down at her chest—still unfamiliar with human form, she’d accidentally made her shirt one size too small. With a thought, she adjusted it for comfort.

“You’re… Little Green Snake?”

Xia Chao’s jaw dropped. Even at the Divine Transformation stage, he couldn’t stop his pounding heart. He’d never imagined his contract beast could take human form—let alone such breathtakingly beautiful form.

“Foolish question.” Her gaze softened momentarily upon seeing Xia Chao before resuming its usual frosty demeanor, her tone as flat as ever.

That signature coldness laced with disdain confirmed her identity beyond doubt, putting Xia Chao at ease.

“Come. We’re ending this war.” With a wave, she flew toward the battlefield. Finding Xia Chao’s speed lacking, she grabbed his hand to carry him along.

“ROAR—!” The Golden Bear roared at Little Green Snake, its instincts screaming that this woman—beast or human—posed an extreme threat.

The giant boar, white stag, and water buffalo similarly released their auras—they all sensed the same danger.

The beastmasters controlling the bear and buffalo had received orders identifying this stunning woman as their ally, commanding their beasts to submit.

But these so-called “tamers” were more like glorified feeders—under the Master-Servant Contract, the beasts were the true masters.

Masters don’t obey servants.

They chose war.

“Four against one after all,” Little Green Snake sighed. Newly advanced to Unity Stage, she stood no chance against four mid-to-late Unity Stage demonic beasts alone.

She needed Xia Chao’s help.

“Hey! It’s not four against one if I’m fighting too!” Xia Chao objected to being ignored.

After painstakingly reaching Divine Transformation Stage—an achievement that would mark him as a genius even in cultivation-prosperous Nine Provinces—how could Little Green Snake not even count him as combatant?

Hadn’t he trained this hard precisely to support her in moments like this?

Little Green Snake rolled her eyes at his denseness. Couldn’t he understand? Battles between Unity Stage experts were perilous—she wanted to keep him out of direct combat if possible, bringing him along only as emergency support if she faltered.

Given current circumstances, only with Xia Chao assisting from the start could they hope to win.

Qiu Shi glanced at the white-haired girl beside him with resignation.

“Did Little Green Snake and Xia Chao forget about us?”

The vivacious white-haired girl sported a ponytail and swishing tail, her feline pupils adding exotic charm as she stretched lazily midair, showcasing a figure rivaling Little Green Snake’s.

“Understandable. I’m only at late Divine Transformation Stage, and you’re at late Nascent Soul Stage—we can’t fight Unity Stage opponents.”

The Bone-Winged White Tiger had just taken human form, leaving Qiu Shi unsure where to look—he settled for averting his gaze.

“Little Green Snake waited until Unity Stage to transform. How come you could at late Divine Transformation?”

Like a kitten, the white-haired girl appeared soundlessly before Qiu Shi, baring cute fangs as her tail brushed his nose.

“Actually, we could’ve transformed much earlier. Sister Baixue Ling said early transformations would distract you two from cultivation, so we waited.”

Though reluctant to admit it, Qiu Shi acknowledged Baixue Ling’s wisdom—had the white-haired girl transformed sooner, he’d likely have abandoned cultivation altogether.
