Chapter 381: Screams
The Superhuman Cult member thought the Binhai Branch agents were utterly unreasonable. Since ancient times, there had been mutual courtesy—they didn’t even attempt honey trap tactics yet expected him to reveal the truth? What kind of unfair deal was this?
“I confess.” The cult member realized he couldn’t count on any honey traps and decided to talk. Calculating the time, his fellow cult members should have already begun their operation—whether he talked or not no longer mattered.
“Let me tell you the truth—this Bihai Branch has been infiltrated like a sieve. Care to guess how many of your colleagues are actually my comrades?”
The two interrogators sneered, dismissing his words as scare tactics. But soon their smiles froze.
The man accurately described numerous classified Bihai Branch operations—some even unknown to the interrogators themselves. Cold sweat drenched their shirts as they immediately considered reporting to Shao Junyi’s father.
But all internal phone lines had been cut, and the door was locked from outside—they were completely isolated.
The cult member leisurely continued revealing their plans: “Your branch only has six fourth-tier superhumans. Two or three are ours. Imagine what would happen if they acted—how many of your leaders would survive?”
“Not to mention we’ve infiltrated third, second, and first-tier superhumans too—quite a number actually.”
“Our leadership has decided—today, right now, we launch our assault on Bihai Branch as the opening battle of our revolution!”
“After Bihai, we’re attacking your Superhuman Management Bureau headquarters next.”
“For this operation, our headquarters invested heavily—airdropping numerous elite operatives to ensure success!”
“You’re dead!” The enraged interrogators lunged to kill him.
The cult member smiled, effortlessly breaking his restraints and subduing them both.
“Impossible!”
“Oh, didn’t I mention? My superpower is ‘growing stronger when beaten’—a specialized enhancement-series ability.”
Seeing their despair, he delighted in adding: “Here’s a free tip—we’ve even infiltrated your new recruit trainers. The signal to begin? Trainers executing trainees.”
“Three new recruits arrived for testing today, right? How wonderful—they’ll be remembered as our operation’s first sacrifices.”
One interrogator froze—how could the isolated prisoner know about new arrivals unless… He stared at his partner in horror, who responded with a cruel smile.
After a pause, the shocked interrogator mirrored the expression, pretending complicity.
“Actually… I’m with the Cult too.”
All three smiled viciously in the locked room, the temperature seeming to drop several degrees.
“How do we get out?”
“Wait for rescue.”
……
Shao Junyi’s group of four entered the training room, drawing attention from personnel pausing their work.
“Tch. These rookies and their mystical nonsense—’immortal cultivation superpower’? Just “Some illusion-type prodigy putting on airs.” The trainer sneered coldly, preparing to ruthlessly carry out the orders on the recruits.
“This is third-tier superhuman Ma Shu—his gravity manipulation creates localized high-gravity zones. Ranged attacks are useless—fire or lightning would just get pulled to the ground. He’s also a martial arts master—imagine fighting him while gravity crushes you.”
“Ma Shu’s even defeated fourth-tiers in combat. In practical terms, he’s top-five strongest in Bihai Branch!”
“Peng Lianghai—even with your enhancement-series close combat skills, moving under multiplied gravity will be impossible. Be careful.”
“Who’s first?”
Ma Shu loomed at two meters tall, his mere presence oppressive. Outwardly genial, he inwardly plotted how to torture all four—including Shao Junyi on his kill list.
Few knew Ma Shu wasn’t third-tier but a terrifying fourth-tier who’d infiltrated as a trainer, patiently waiting for today’s assault. For over a decade, he’d covertly planted cult agents and turned Bureau personnel.
No more restraint—today he’d unleash everything!
Ma Shu was confident. Even pretending to be third-tier ranked him top-five in Bihai. At full fourth-tier power? He’d be invincible in one-on-one combat.
“Who’s first?” He subtly locked the door—no one would escape!
Peng Lianghai, intrigued by Shao Junyi’s introduction, wanted to fight Ma Shu.
“I’ll go!”
Bai Hongtu cut in front.
“Your name?” Ma Shu demanded.
“Bai Hongtu.”
“I’ll remember that name.”
Ma Shu spread his arms—the entire training room’s atmosphere thickened with crushing pressure.
Terror gripped everyone under the overwhelming force. Peng Lianghai paled, realizing the vast gap between them—Bihai truly housed extraordinary talents. His muscles burned as his enhancement-series ability strained against the gravity.
Shao Junyi instantly recognized—this was no test. This wasn’t even third-tier power! Ma Shu had been hiding his strength! But why reveal it now? Something terrible was happening!
Jiang Li yawned in “terror.”
Bai Hongtu stretched “fearfully.”
“Die!” Ma Shu’s meteor fist struck like lightning—Peng Lianghai knew he couldn’t block it.
“Meteor Fist!” Shao Junyi gasped—this was Ma Shu’s legendary technique that defeated fourth-tiers!
“Look out!”
Bai Hongtu casually kicked Ma Shu across the room, muttering: “Meteor Fist? What kind of weak-ass meteor is this? My dandruff hits harder.”
Ma Shu lay stunned. What went wrong? Wasn’t this guy supposed to be illusion-series?
“Impossible! You asked for this!” Ma Shu prepared his hidden techniques.
Before he could move, Bai Hongtu kicked him into the wall again.
Ma Shu’s mind blanked—this opponent fought dirty! Bai Hongtu proceeded to “lightly” pummel him.
Battered and desperate, Ma Shu tried opening the door—only to find some bastard had locked it.
His agonized screams leaked through the cracks, echoing endlessly through the halls…
……
“Damn—sounds brutal. Ma Shu must’ve started on the recruits. Let’s move.”
Cult members throughout the facility began their coordinated attack.
