Chapter 436: Please Ask Some Normal Questions

“Can President Mingzhong remove the time restriction function from the holographic simulator?”

This question resonated with everyone. While the holographic simulator was fun, the daily usage time was too short to fully enjoy it.

“No.” Jiang Li refused on Mingzhong’s behalf.

The time restriction was implemented to prevent another situation like the Gouge Civilization incident, where collective consciousness uploading led to the entire civilization’s demise.

“The Corpse Driving Sect has a request.” The Sect Master of Corpse Driving Sect had pale skin and fingers – a result of prolonged contact with corpses.

“Go ahead, as long as it’s not advertising.”

The sect master clasped his hands gratefully: “Could the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal enlighten the corpses we refine? Due to our cultivation techniques, we look frightening and gloomy, making it hard to attract female cultivators…”

“Next question, anyone else?”

Jiang Li remained expressionless. Giving intelligence to corpses? That idea wasn’t even worth considering.

Originally, Luo Ying and his sister thought having several Unity-stage cultivators from the Corpse Driving Sect in their world would be beneficial.

Now it seemed this sect was somewhat… abnormal.

The Luban Sect Master looked sympathetically at his counterpart. Both sects had struggled with attracting women, but now that Luban Sect members had found partners, only the Corpse Driving Sect remained struggling.

The Luban Sect Master clasped hands, silently thanking the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal and vowing to forever remember its great kindness.

The Luban Sect’s marriage ceremonies with puppets strictly followed traditional rituals: bowing to heaven and earth, bowing to parents, and bowing to each other as husband and wife – not a single step was omitted.

This was their responsibility toward the puppets.

The “bowing to parents” segment involved bowing to a portrait of the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal.

“The Buddhist sect has a concern.” Wuzhi spoke up unusually, catching Jiang Li’s attention.

“What is it?”

Wuzhi turned to Meng Youyou: “Could the Joyous Sect please refrain from establishing branch sects near Buddhist temples?”

If given a choice, Wuzhi wouldn’t have brought this up at the Nine Provinces Assembly, but he had no alternative.

At the foot of Sumeru Mountain, the Joyous Sect had opened a branch. Every time Wuzhi went to persuade them, he was greeted by scenes of scantily clad female cultivators who playfully pulled at him, nearly causing him to fall from grace.

There was simply no way to negotiate.

In recent years, Meng Youyou had expanded the Joyous Sect’s operations, establishing branches in the Great Wei Dynasty, Mengjiang Dynasty, and other locations – much to the delight of their emperors who frequently “inspected” these establishments.

The only exception among the nine great dynasties was the Great Zhou Dynasty, where operations were temporarily prohibited due to the Joyous Sect’s activities violating several laws.

Meng Youyou retorted: “We’re not opening inside your temples, so why does it matter where we establish ourselves? We go where there’s demand.”

“But there’s no demand from our Buddhist sect!”

“Nonsense! Our Sumeru branch is one of our top-performing locations.”

“Moreover, your Buddhist sect practices Joyful Meditation, which isn’t much different from our methods. Why discriminate against us?”

She argued convincingly, still resentful about the Buddhist sect setting up their recruitment platform opposite the Joyous Sect during the Shangsi Festival – clearly a deliberate provocation.

“Sect Master Meng, let it go,” Jiang Li interjected. “The Buddhist sect doesn’t want to escalate this. If they have all their arhats and bodhisattvas chant calming mantras, neither your disciples nor customers will have any… desires left. That benefits no one.”

Seeing Jiang Li’s stance, Meng Youyou relented, having already achieved her goal of annoying the Buddhist sect.

“The Confucian school has a question for the Human Sovereign.”

“What is it?”

“Since the Human Sovereign frequently changes surnames while traveling, we’re concerned the ‘Hundred Family Surnames’ might be insufficient. Would you like us to compile a ‘Thousand Family Surnames’?”

“No need.”

The Beast Taming Sect Master spoke up: “I have a lovely young daughter – let me show you all.”

He projected an image of a graceful, beautiful young woman.

Jiang Li asked curiously: “Is there any issue?”

“No particular issue, just wanted to show off.” The sect master withdrew the projection.

Jiang Li contemplated whether to throw him out or kick him out.

Commander Liu knocked and entered the conference hall, whispering something to Jiang Li before leaving.

“What did Commander Liu say? Any urgent matters?” Everyone wondered why he’d interrupt now.

After hesitating, Jiang Li explained: “Commander Liu requested that you restrain yourselves during battles – stop casually moving mountains and filling seas. Or at least return the terrain to its original state afterward. Modifying maps is too troublesome.”

“He also said that if any faction fails to clean up after battles again, they’ll be assigned to redraw the Nine Provinces maps.”

Representatives from other worlds exchanged strange looks – such problems were uniquely Nine Provinces issues.

Their worlds would never face such situations.

What they didn’t know was that weather forecasting in the Nine Provinces was similarly problematic.

There were no weather forecasts, as the weather changed according to the whims of powerful cultivators, making predictions pointless.

The Human Sovereign Hall was responsible for map-making. After creating the initial version, maps were imprinted on jade pendants for mass distribution. To ensure accuracy, Commander Liu would send inspectors to constantly monitor geographical changes.

He discovered that the greatest threats to the Nine Provinces’ terrain weren’t tectonic movements, but irresponsible Spirit Transformation and Unity-stage cultivators who insisted on fighting on land instead of in space, destroying countless mountains with each battle – a sight that made his blood pressure soar.

This conference was the perfect opportunity to address this issue.

Li Er guiltily shrank his neck. His Dharmakaya Sect enjoyed playing with planets and altering their orbits in space. Fortunately, the Human Sovereign Hall didn’t need star charts, or his sect would be in trouble.

“The Eastern Sea Dragon King has a small question,” the dragon spoke up.

“Go ahead.”

“I recently had a son with exceptional cultivation talent and extremely pure dragon bloodline. However, he has a congenital defect hindering his growth.”

“What defect?” The Spirit Herb Sect Master asked, as this was his expertise.

“He’s allergic to seafood.”

Jiang Li facepalmed. What kind of ridiculous questions were these? Couldn’t they ask after the meeting?

Every conference was filled with bizarre problems rather than serious matters.

These people clearly had too much free time on their hands!

Internally grumbling, Jiang Li recalled reading meeting records from previous Human Sovereigns’ reigns – they dealt with preventing wars between nations or mediating irreconcilable conflicts between sects.

Why was his tenure plagued by such trivial issues?

Solving them brought no sense of accomplishment.

Despite his complaints, Jiang Li earnestly helped resolve their problems.

Several days later, the Nine Provinces Assembly concluded, leaving Jiang Li mentally exhausted.

Representatives from other worlds unanimously agreed this conference had been… eye-opening.
