Chapter 583: The Return of the Four Seas Dragon Pearls

There were two trees in front of the Dao Sect’s entrance, one was a hawthorn tree, and the other was also a hawthorn tree.

Both were newly planted by Bai Hongtu.

Before even entering the Dao Sect’s interior, Jiang Li could sense thick malicious intent.

At that moment, two gatekeeping disciples were unfurling a banner, which read:

Welcome immortal artifacts to come study at the Dao Sect, welcome Yu Yin to visit the Dao Sect, and incidentally welcome Jiang Li

“Nonsense, how could you be so unclear about priorities, is Jiang Li really that unimportant!” Bai Hongtu appeared, scolding his disciples.

The disciples suddenly understood, hurriedly changing the banner to:

Welcome immortal artifacts to come study at the Dao Sect, welcome Yu Yin to visit the Dao Sect, and incidentally welcome the very important Jiang Li

Only then did Bai Hongtu nod with satisfaction, turning his head to discover Jiang Li and Yu Yin had already arrived: “Huh, you arrived so quickly, the banner was just finished when you came.”

Jiang Li could tell at a glance that this was Bai Hongtu’s clumsy conspiracy deliberately designed to anger him, and he absolutely couldn’t take the bait.

I’m not angry.

Bai Hongtu enthusiastically welcomed the two, telling them not to stand on ceremony, saying that coming to the Dao Sect was just like being at the Human Sovereign Hall or Tianyuan Dynasty – they should make themselves at home.

Jiang Li thought this was actually a roundabout way of telling him to leave.

At the Dao Sect, Jiang Li saw many scholars from the Mingzhong World currently conducting technical exchanges with Dao Sect elders, developing new products.

“We’ve achieved significant results in combining cultivation and technology. For example, look at this one – an automatic takeout ordering machine. It’s very popular in the Mingzhong World. It automatically detects what the owner wants to eat, then contacts restaurants to place orders.”

“What’s the use of this thing?”

“Of course it’s useful. Some people want to lose weight but still want to order takeout, yet feel embarrassed about ordering takeout. At that moment, the automatic takeout ordering machine activates, ordering takeout for the owner.”

“This way the owner can say the machine ordered the takeout, not them. When the takeout arrives, not eating it would be wasteful, so they still have to eat it. The machine can’t eat food, so the owner reluctantly helps by eating it.”

“Who researched this thing?”

“I researched it.” Bai Hongtu answered proudly.

“Do something proper.”

“How am I not doing proper things? Look at this training puppet, also researched by me. Their levels range from Qi Refining to Nascent Soul, and they can fight with cultivators, allowing cultivators to grow through combat.”

“That sounds good, but why do all the puppets your Dao Sect develops look so beautiful?” Yu Yin was puzzled. Generally speaking, puppet appearances were usually plain and simple, yet the puppets before them were each more attractive than the last.

“It’s like this – we considered that during battles, male cultivators often can’t bring themselves to strike female cultivators because they find them attractive, leading to female cultivators defeating stronger opponents. To eliminate unnecessary mercy, we specifically studied the Luban Sect and changed the puppet appearances.”

“This way, male cultivators will get used to the puppets and won’t hold back in combat.”

Jiang Li nodded, feeling Bai Hongtu made perfect sense. He used the same intensity when hitting Bai Hongtu as when hitting Yu Yin.

“However, recently some male cultivators wanted to add daily-use functions to the puppets, which I sternly rejected, but it hasn’t been very effective. We still receive similar requests.” This troubled Bai Hongtu quite a bit.

Bai Hongtu displayed a series of achievements where the drawbacks outweighed the benefits before finally bringing the two to where the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal was located.

Ever since Jiang Li brought the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal back from the Mingzhong World, it had remained in a stone chamber, never leaving its residence, wholeheartedly researching methods to enhance immortal artifact strength.

Immortal artifacts didn’t have clear level divisions, but there were differences in power – otherwise the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal wouldn’t have become the leader among immortal artifacts.

Piles upon piles of reports were spread before the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal, all collected by the Dao Sect from various locations regarding problems spiritual treasures encountered during cultivation.

The Yin-Yang Heaven Seal analyzed and organized these reports, improved spiritual treasure cultivation methods, and drew experience from them.

Jiang Li’s group were the last to arrive – the Brahma Tower, Great Scholar’s Manuscript, Other Mountain Stone, and Four Seas Dragon Pearls had all arrived.

“The Four Seas Dragon Pearls have returned too? Weren’t you exploring other worlds?”

“Reporting to the Human Sovereign, we just finished exploring and were about to report our results to the Human Sovereign Hall when Big Brother Yin-Yang Heaven Seal called us here.”

“What kind of world did you visit? What did you encounter?”

Jiang Li remembered the Four Seas Dragon Pearls had taken some people from Great Zhou and dragon clan members to an unknown world.

“The world we visited is called the Ten Thousand Languages World, a continental world. This world was cursed by Outer Realm Demons – everyone born there masters one language from birth, but everyone masters different languages and cannot learn others’ languages. In other words, they cannot communicate with each other.”

“We spent considerable effort to learn some people’s languages.”

“Learning all of them was impossible – that world has tens of millions of people speaking tens of millions of languages.”

“Why so few people?” Jiang Li frowned. A planet usually has billions of people – the human population on a single continent should be larger than that number.

“This is what I was about to explain next. The Ten Thousand Languages World is very backward, somewhere between the Stone Age and Agricultural Age. Forget cultivation and technology – they rely on luck just to survive beast attacks.”

“When we four first arrived there, we thought it was simply slow development. Later, after being recalled by the Human Sovereign and learning about the Outer Realm Demons’ conspiracies, we re-explored the world and discovered the problem.”

“This world was originally a technological world, though developing very slowly – they had just invented steam engines to free up manual labor. Then the Outer Realm Demons released the curse, cutting off language connections. They lost their original languages and couldn’t understand books anymore.”

“Books and the knowledge recorded in them were buried by wind and sand. Their technological level rapidly declined all the way back to the early Agricultural Age, and the population decreased accordingly.”

“Based on inferences from ancient records, it should have been an Earthly Immortal-level Outer Realm Demon who released the curse at the cost of its life. The Earthly Immortal curse enveloped the entire continent.”

“The Ten Thousand Languages World lacks water resources – drinking water comes from rainfall. Human settlements concentrate in areas with consistent rainfall. Humans there view rainwater as divine miracles, worshipping the heavens whenever it rains, while the clouds themselves are the curse released by the Outer Realm Demons.”

“Anyone who drinks rainwater receives the curse and affects the next generation.”

“The beasts in that world are extremely powerful – humans can only fight them with stones or crude iron tools. Their very survival is problematic.”

“After investigating clearly, we broke the curse, had the dragon clan use their innate divine abilities to summon wind and rain, filling riverbeds, and had Great Zhou’s people teach language, creating rules and order.”

“This work was time-consuming and labor-intensive, so we contacted the Zhou Emperor and Four Seas Dragon Kings, asking them to send people to help.”

“Like this, after several years, we finally made everyone in the Ten Thousand Languages World learn their original language.”

Originally, the Four Seas Dragon Pearls wanted to directly teach them the Nine Provinces language for convenience in future contact, but Great Zhou’s people proposed that this would essentially make them lose their true history – they should be taught their ancestors’ language instead.

“We left some people behind to teach them the technology they once mastered. Perhaps because ancestral memories still remain in their bloodline, they progressed quickly. The Ten Thousand Languages World is now on the right track.”
