Chapter 587: The Ancient Corpse Pulls the Coffin

After returning to the Nine Provinces, the immortal artifacts wanted to find the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal, hoping to challenge their big brother artifact together and show off the tremendous benefits gained from this promotion.

Since big brother had come up with such a great method of growing stronger through being beaten, they as younger brothers couldn’t slack off and needed to understand gratitude.

The Yin-Yang Heaven Seal had long anticipated this situation. By the time the immortal artifacts arrived at the Dao Sect, it had already disappeared to who knows where.

The immortal artifacts sighed repeatedly before returning to their original positions to digest their gains from this trip.

Originally, some worlds maintained connections with the Nine Provinces through summoning arrays. But now that the Brahma Tower had advanced, it could establish spatial passages between the Nine Provinces and all known worlds, with the Ten Thousand Languages World being among them.

The Great Scholar’s Manuscript returned to the Confucian School.

When the Four Seas Dragon Kings saw that the Four Seas Dragon Pearls had advanced, they immediately took the dragon pearls to Penglai Immortal Isle to settle scores.

Then they ran headfirst into Island Master Mo attacking with the Other Mountain Stone, leaving the Four Seas Dragon Kings covered in bumps and bruises.

The Wishful Gourd, silently alone and helpless, could only sneak off to the Joyous Sect to spend the night, appearing quite pitiful.

Jiang Li gathered all the Human Sovereign candidates into the consciousness space and informed them of their mission: to help the Ten Thousand Languages World develop rapidly.

Afterward, the Human Sovereign candidates prepared themselves and together stepped through the spatial passage, arriving at the Ten Thousand Languages World which had just begun using bronze tools.

Jiang Li then went to the Human Sovereign Hall and told Commander Liu that the three of them were going to explore the void.

“The void is vast, and I might not return for quite some time, unable to oversee the Human Sovereign Hall. During this period, I’ll trouble you to oversee the Human Sovereign Hall, Commander Liu.”

Seeing Jiang Li’s serious tone, Commander Liu almost thought Jiang Li regularly oversaw the Human Sovereign Hall and he was only substituting for a short while.

“Alright, then I’ll return the task of overseeing the Human Sovereign Hall to you after you return, Hall Master.”

“This matter is of great importance. We’ll discuss it further after I return.”

After finishing his instructions, Jiang Li and his two companions could set off with peace of mind.

“There’s a problem here. Your coordinates are quite far from the Nine Provinces World. The void astral winds aren’t something us two at the Tribulation Transcendence Stage can withstand. Brief stops are manageable, but we can’t endure them for long periods,” Bai Hongtu expressed concern.

“I have a solution for this,” Jiang Li had long thought of a resolution method.

…

In the depths of the void where coldness and darkness coexisted, an ancient corpse of the Human Sovereign pulled two bronze coffins, existing eternally.

The ancient corpse pulling coffins was filled with terror and ominousness.

“Damn you, Jiang Li! If you have what it takes, let’s fight one-on-one!”

A roar emerged from one coffin like that of an ancient demon god suppressed for billions of years, exceptionally terrifying, as if symbolizing that this journey wouldn’t be smooth, making people feel uneasy.

“Quiet down. I racked my brains to come up with such a good method – what are you dissatisfied about?” Jiang Li’s yang spirit sat on the coffin, knocking on it while single-handedly suppressing the demon god inside.

Jiang Li used corpse driving techniques, with his yang spirit leaving his body to control it.

“Using your image as coffins to provide protective barriers for both of us is indeed a good method.”

A muffled female voice came from the other coffin, echoing through the void, chilling people to the bone.

If some young cultivator accidentally entered a damaged ancient battlefield and found ancient texts, they might vaguely discern the honored names of these two demonic heads from between pages eroded by time.

The honored names of these two demonic heads were ancient taboos – once spoken, one would suffer terrifying pressure arriving from across the River of Time.

Jiang Li lowered his voice and said, “One demonic head is named Bai Hongtu, the other is named Yu Yin.”

“I don’t mind anything else, but could you stop with this inexplicable narration?” the female demonic head in the coffin protested.

Forced by reverence for these two ancient venerables, the young cultivator quickly fell silent, not daring to speak recklessly again.

“The journey is quite boring. I’m just talking to entertain you all, and you still have complaints.”

Jiang Li shook his head, apparently his two friends didn’t feel warmed by his thoughtful actions – truly regrettable.

“How about we make up a story, each adding one sentence at a time,” Jiang Li thought of another way to pass time.

Jiang Li continued, “I’ll start first. Once there was a young cultivator who had just entered the martial world, aiming to become a great hero who punished evil and promoted good.”

Bai Hongtu added, “After arriving in Great Zhou, he was quickly arrested and imprisoned for intentional assault.”

Yu Yin said, “The young cultivator felt that since ancient times, no great hero avoided imprisonment. Suffering unjust accusations was an inevitable path for heroes.”

“All those imprisoned in the jail were evil people, making the young cultivator feel it was a perfect place to punish evil and promote good.”

“Because the young cultivator fought in prison, his detention period was doubled.”

“A person sharing the same cell with the young cultivator saw the youth’s exceptional qualities, unlike ordinary people, and took out a secret manual from his bosom to bestow upon the young cultivator.”

“Opening the manual revealed four glaring large characters: Great Zhou Criminal Code, dazzling the young cultivator’s eyes.”

“The young cultivator obtained the manual, devoted himself to cultivation, and finally received a sentence reduction.”

“Congratulations all around, we’ve arrived.” Jiang Li’s yang spirit returned to its position, pulling the two coffins.

“This is where the Immortal Realm passed through a thousand years ago.”

This part of the void had nothing special about it, just like other void spaces – empty, silent, dark.

Bai Hongtu jumped out of the coffin, breathing in the fresh void air.

“Indeed, the Immortal Realm is long gone from here.”

Not even a shadow of the Immortal Realm could be seen here.

“There’s a world here that feels somewhat strange.”

Yu Yin pointed to a peculiarly shaped world not far away.

Normal worlds were shaped like eggs, but this world resembled a cracked egg with a small portion missing.

What made the three even more curious was that this world had installed countless small metal boxes on its dimensional barriers, one at regular intervals. If the entire barrier was covered, the number of small boxes would be terrifyingly large.

The three approached for closer observation and, through analyzing the principles, reached a conclusion.

“This thing is a camera powered by nuclear energy, capable of long-term operation. But why install cameras here?” Bai Hongtu didn’t understand.

Jiang Li pondered for a moment before saying, “There’s only one possibility for installing cameras here – their cameras can see through the dimensional barriers to observe the void’s scenery.”

Bai Hongtu was momentarily stunned, not having considered this possibility.

Void astral winds meant that aside from immortal-level power, nothing else could remain in the void for extended periods and conduct observations.

To observe the void, one could only set up cameras at the world’s boundaries.

If Jiang Li’s guess was correct, then this world’s technological level was more advanced than the Mingzhong World, making it the most technologically advanced world Jiang Li had encountered among all worlds.

“But why? What in the void is worth noting?”

The void contained nothing, so logically speaking there shouldn’t be any observational value. Yet this world expended massive resources to observe the void – this was unreasonable, leaving the three puzzled.

“Unknown. Perhaps we can find answers by visiting this world.”

The three exchanged glances and entered this world.
