Chapter 592: Energy Lifeforms

After browsing through the laboratory for a while, Jiang Li noticed that only a small portion of the extracted star cores was being used for scientific experiments.

“I saw Meteor Group mining tons of star cores when they exploded the stars. Where are all these star cores being used? For processed products?”

Kong Yi shook his head: “I heard the three Rulers need star cores for their experiments. Most of the star cores are transported to the Three Mother Stars.”

“What experiments are the Rulers conducting?”

“That I don’t know. The things the Rulers research are far deeper than what we can comprehend. The functions of star cores aren’t something we can understand. Perhaps they’re researching how to deal with the great demons, or maybe they’re studying other things, like time itself.”

“Time? Can you elaborate?” Jiang Li was surprised.

“I only heard my father mention it briefly, saying something about the Rulers researching a River of Time or something, and that every world corresponds to a river, with the River of Time existing in another dimensional plane.”

Kong Yi scratched his head and smiled apologetically: “This involves very profound knowledge that only the Rulers can comprehend and research.”

But he quickly found a reason why he couldn’t understand: “After all, the three Rulers are the longest-living beings, existing at realms beyond the Unity Stage that are simply unfathomable. It’s perfectly normal that I don’t understand what they’re researching.”

The three of them exchanged glances – this world was indeed extraordinary.

“Maybe the Rulers understand the Dao of Time even better than you do,” Bai Hongtu said with a smirk.

“As if you understand the Dao of Time yourself,” Jiang Li ignored Bai Hongtu’s childish provocation.

“How don’t I understand? I can see that I’m about to be kicked by you in a few seconds,” Bai Hongtu claimed he could see events several seconds into the future.

“As you wish.”

Bai Hongtu received Jiang Li’s merciless kick.

Jiang Li acknowledged that Bai Hongtu indeed understood the Dao of Time.

Yu Yin facepalmed, feeling that these two guys’ combined mental age didn’t exceed ten years.

“Stop fooling around.”

“Okay.”

The two responded obediently and continued performing their duties, cleaning up.

Finally, under Kong Yi’s guidance, the three of them bypassed numerous obstacles and reached the top-floor confidential room.

“According to intelligence, the computers here contain many secrets.”

Kong Yi’s eyes emitted green beams that scanned the computer. His ten fingers spread out, extending countless antennas that inserted into the computer’s ports, invading the internal network.

Jiang Li had already noticed that Kong Yi’s entire body had been modified, powered by nuclear energy while maintaining human form. According to this world’s classification system, he was at the Nuclear-Powered Nascent Soul stage.

“My hacking skills rank among the top ten across the entire Ninth Mother Star,” Kong Yi boasted proudly.

Ranking among the top ten meant he was somewhere between sixth and tenth place.

Kong Yi quickly cracked the extremely complex security and accessed the computer, searching for information about the Stellar Weapon.

But he found nothing.

Suddenly, the computer screen turned blue. Kong Yi tried every method but nothing worked.

“Kong Yi, stop investigating this matter,” a voice emerged from behind the four of them, coming from the very computer he was controlling.

If Kong Yi’s hacking skills ranked tenth globally, then this person ranked first.

“Three guests, we finally meet. Let me introduce myself – I am the CEO of Meteor Group,” the newcomer spoke courteously, treating Jiang Li’s trio as equals.

“Uncle,” Kong Yi felt somewhat dejected at being caught by the Meteor CEO.

Uncle Meteor was a Unity Stage expert who had unified the four fundamental forces – there was no possibility of escape.

Kong Yi had thought he was incredibly lucky to reach Meteor Group’s most confidential area undetected.

Little did he know this was merely permitted by the Meteor CEO.

“My apologies for making you witness this spectacle, accompanying a child’s mischief. Kong Yi’s father is a council member and my close friend,” the Meteor CEO wore an apologetic smile.

“I’ve been advising Kong Yi not to investigate this matter, but this child never listens to his elders.”

“As a last resort, I intentionally let him investigate within our group, hoping he would give up on this obsession.”

The Meteor CEO appeared less like a human and more like an azure energy form that just happened to take human shape.

Within the azure energy body were numerous small bubbles, with the internal form constantly changing to maintain optimal condition.

“Energy body?” After scanning with his spiritual sense, Jiang Li discovered that the Meteor CEO’s body didn’t belong to any known energy type – it was likely a technological creation of this world.

“Energy bodies are common here. In fact, physical forms like yours three are quite rare.”

Through surveillance, the Meteor CEO had seen Jiang Li’s trio’s forms and initially thought they were energy bodies disguised as physical forms. But upon seeing them in person, he realized how wrong he was – these three were fundamentally carbon-based lifeforms.

“Might I ask which region of the universe you three come from, and which Ruler promoted you? Perhaps we serve the same Ruler,” the Meteor CEO tried to establish rapport with Jiang Li’s group.

“Is it the Entropy Increase Ruler, the Entropy Decrease Ruler, or the Entropy Balance Ruler?”

In this world, anyone wanting to advance to the Unity Stage needed assistance from the three Rulers. The Meteor CEO assumed the three before him were no exception.

“What if I said we come from another world? Would you believe that?”

“Hahaha, Mr. Jiang Li, you’re quite the joker. The only beings that come from other worlds are the great demons. How could there be rational lifeforms like you?”

Seeing the three unwilling to discuss their origins, the Meteor CEO didn’t press further. He turned his attention to Kong Yi.

“Kong Yi, I’ve told you before – I have no information about the Stellar Weapon here. Why won’t you believe me?” The Meteor CEO gently shook his head – this child wasn’t usually this mischievous.

“But this planet really has been transformed into a weapon…”

“Silence! Don’t say such things!” The Meteor CEO’s gentle tone vanished, replaced by a sharp reprimand. His body rippled with waves, indicating emotional turmoil.

One couldn’t discern the Meteor CEO’s expression from his face – after all, energy bodies don’t display facial expressions – but his tone revealed extreme tension.

Jiang Li instantly understood – only one possibility could make the Meteor CEO this tense.

The Stellar Weapon was related to the three Rulers, and closely at that. Perhaps it was the three Rulers themselves who had done this.

The Meteor CEO, lacking vocal cords, spoke using electromagnetic force: “When we advanced to the Unity Stage, the three Rulers warned us not to speak about the Stellar Weapon matter. You three have quite the courage, accompanying a child’s mischief like this. Aren’t you afraid the Rulers will hold you accountable?”

Jiang Li found this amusing and imitated the Meteor CEO, also responding with electromagnetic force: “No problem. The Rulers know everything. Since they haven’t stopped us, it means we have the three Rulers’ tacit approval.”

The Meteor CEO genuinely admired these three’s courage.

Observers emphasized and pursued rationality, yet all he saw in these three was sheer audacity.

“But why exactly do you think the planet has been transformed into a weapon?” The Meteor CEO was puzzled. This was something even Kong Yi’s father didn’t know. Only he himself on the Ninth Mother Star knew this secret. How could Kong Yi possibly know?

“A person called the Executor of Karma told me. He said all the Mother Stars have been transformed into weapons.”

“What?”

This time it was Jiang Li’s trio’s turn to be shocked.
