Chapter 9: Third Brother

After getting Qiao Yue’s concurrence, Qiao Jing left her room without looking back.
When Qiao Jing opened the door, he bumped right into Qiao Ze. Qiao Ze looked a little confused, while Qiao Jing looked at him expressionlessly and walked past him.
“Little Five! Why are you with him again?” Qiao Ze asked gloomily.
“Is there something you need?” Qiao Yue said as she unpacked the clothes she had brought with her.
Qiao Ze chuckled and said, “Xiao Yue! I heard that you have a Walther PPS, let me have a look!”
“What for? It’s not like you haven’t seen one before.,” Qiao Yue answered with raised eyebrows.
“I’ve seen one before, but the family doesn’t allow us too much exposure to firearms. I’ll return it to you after I look at it.”
Qiao Ze was telling the truth, but from what the servants told him, Qiao Yue’s Walther PPS seemed a little different from normal.
Qiao Yue glanced at Qiao Ze and threw him the gun at her waist.
Qiao Ze’s eyes brightened as he fiddled with the exquisite weapon in his hand. It was indeed different from the normal PPS. The grip of the gun was smaller, and the barrel also seemed to be smaller. Were the bullets inside also specially made?
At the thought of this, Qiao Ze was about to open the magazine to check, but Qiao Yue grabbed his wrist.
“You said you would only look.” As soon as Qiao Yue finished speaking, he flipped Qiao Ze’s wrist and the gun was back in her hand.
Qiao Ze’s eyes followed the gun as he said, “Xiao Yue, where did you get this gun?”
Firearms were dangerous items to begin with, and most people only dared to use the original. There were only two kinds of people who would modify their guns like Qiao Yue. First group consisted of laymen who weren’t aware of the danger, and the second group were people extremely proficient in firearms and very confident that the modified weapon wouldn’t go off by accident. From the looks of Qiao Yue, he seemed to be in the second group.
“From where?” Qiao Yue smiled and repeated Qiao Ze’s question.
“I picked it up,” Qiao Yue said smilingly, obvious that she was trying to fool Qiao Ze.
Qiao Jing had long been suspicious of her identity, but he knew that he would not get an answer from her, so he did not even ask.
Qiao Ze was unhappy as he said, “Xiao Yue, you’re not a good boy. How dare you lie to your third brother.”
“Third brother, since you want to know, why don’t you go and find out? I’ve shown quite a few things, you can check them out as you see fit,” Qiao Yue teased with smiling eyes.
The slanting rays from the setting sun filtered into the black and white room, adding warmth to the room.
The teenager stood in the orange tinge, smiling warmly and wantonly. Qiao Ze was dazzled for a moment and stared at Qiao Yue, unable to look away.
“Third brother, it’s getting late. I’ll tidy up first.”
Qiao Yue was ready to drive him away. Qiao Ze blinked in response and then immediately reacted.
“Xiao Yue, what do you need to tidy up? Do you need my help?” Qiao Ze said as he winked at Qiao Yue.
Qiao Ze was indeed born with good looks. Such a childish action still made him look handsome.
“There’s no need to trouble third brother,” Qiao Yue said as she dusted her clothes, indicating that she was going to tidy up the bloodstained clothes she was wearing.
Understanding Qiao Yue’s signal, Qiao Ze did not continue to stay in Qiao Yue’s room. He turned back several times as he left the room, thinking about things he could talk to Qiao Yue about. His fifth brother was too mysterious, and he would very much like to hang around him.
Qiao Ze had just dawdled to the door and turned to talk to Qiao Yue when he heard a “bang” and the door was closed.
Qiao Ze touched his elegantly straight nose that was almost hit. He felt even more depressed. His fifth brother said one thing but did another. He felt like he had met a smiling tiger.
After Qiao Ze left, Qiao Yue checked the room and made sure there were no surveillance cameras. She then took out a change of clothes and a chest wrap from her bag.
Her phone beeped and a message appeared on the screen.
“Boss, information about you, including Nanshan Village, have all been changed.”
“Okay.”
Qiao Yue replied with a single word before she picked up her clothes and walked into the bathroom.
After removing the bandages around her neck, a long scar was revealed at the back of her neck. When Qiao Yue took off her shirt, the scar could be seen extending from her neck to her back.
Qiao Yue quickly took a cold shower to wash away the bloody smell on her body. She had to go downstairs for dinner later. This had always been a routine in the Qiao family, and she did not want anything bad to happen.
