Chapter 424: Chapter 423: Attempts and Gains
Black Demon Fire Silk Array, seemingly just an elementary runes sorcery array consisting of 16 runes bundles, requires almost Enchantment Master-level proficiency in Enchantment. This renders most sorcerers unable to meet the threshold.
Unlike the previous impartation of the Black Magic Wind Fire Array, this time, Ivan did not choose to share all his insights.
Instead, he allowed the qualified sorcerers to comprehend it on their own. Whether they could penetrate the secrets of the Black Demon Fire Silk Array was up to them. Ivan treated everyone equally; if they couldn’t master it, they only had themselves to blame.
After handing over the Formation, Ivan had gained some resources.
This was merely the tuition paid by others, which wasn’t substantial because the results required time to manifest. Chairman Hadi said that once sorcerers at his level harnessed the Witch’s Favor, there would certainly be a generous reward, and a sizable favor Ivan couldn’t escape.
Ivan had no objections to this; he also looked forward to sharing some of the Witch’s Favor with the big shots.
In fact, the emergence of the Black Demon Fire Silk Array didn’t cause much of a stir in the sorcerer world. Most ordinary sorcerers and apprentices didn’t even know such a thing had happened. The matter mainly spread among the middle and upper echelons.
During this period, besides receiving congratulatory messages from acquaintances like Solomon and Narnya, Ivan’s normal life remained undisturbed.
One day, Dorothy visited Rapid Wood Tower again.
“Scholar Yiven, I apologize for intruding,” Dorothy said, devoid of her previous aggressiveness and displaying a humble demeanor.
“You’re too kind,” Ivan replied without turning her away.
“Scholar Yiven, I sincerely apologize for my previous impolite behavior and hope to be forgiven,” Dorothy said earnestly, even before taking a seat.

“That’s alright, sorcerer Dorothy, just speak your mind. If you are here to learn the Black Demon Fire Silk Array, I must refuse, as the guild has already set detailed statutes, and I cannot lead in violating them,” Ivan stated bluntly.
“No, not to learn, but to collaborate–,” Dorothy hastily explained.
She proposed the same idea that Ivan had suggested to President Hotter. She wanted to find and nurture suitable apprentices from Alien Races and then have Ivan help them advance to official sorcerers.
“It’s a coincidence, actually. I’ve specially consulted the Chairman about this. The chances of acquiring the Witch’s Favor in this way are very low for you,” said Ivan, unsurprised by her proposal and giving a slight shake of his head.
This was indeed no lie; of course, he hadn’t deceived President Hotter either.
He could adjust based on the results, tweaking until the collaborating parties could gain the Witch’s Favor, but changing the partner to Dorothy, Ivan wasn’t sure how much effort he would need to expend in the process.
Dorothy’s proficiency in Enchantment was far too low, making the efficiency of helping her gain the Witch’s Favor equally low.
Moreover, Dorothy’s status was far from comparable to President Hotter’s. Once he opened that door, Ivan could foresee a constant stream of trouble from others catching wind of it.
Ivan would not create trouble for himself.
Soon after, Dorothy left Rapid Wood Tower deeply disappointed, her demeanor as dejected as it had been spirited just days before.
Ultimately, the path of a sorcerer relies on genuine capability and knowledge.
Dorothy, lacking a strong foundation herself and aspiring for something unattainable, was simply delusional.
After her departure, Ivan summoned Angie, the Silkworm Queen, the Scented Butterfly, the Wind Moth, the Swamp Ant, and the Flame Scorpion to ask them about something.
“Boss, what do you need us for? Are we going to fight someone?” Locke appeared as well, all eager and ready.
“I don’t recall calling you here,” Ivan said indifferently.
“Really?” Locke glanced at the Silkworm Queen and the Swamp Ant.
“Step aside, I’m looking for them,” Ivan waved his hand dismissively and then turned his serious gaze to Angie and her group. “Among all of you, is there anyone who wants to learn the Meditation Method?”
Upon hearing this, the swamp ant immediately dodged to one side and consciously stood next to Locke.
The Silkworm Queen and the flame scorpion did the same, well aware of the complexities of sorcerer training and not wishing to trouble themselves.
As for Locke, he had long ago tackled the ‘Black Beard Chapter’ without any real understanding. Clearly, he was not cut out for the path of a sorcerer.
“I will not learn either,” Angie promptly declared. “As a knight of the Centaur Race, I must stay true to the Knight’s Path.”
“Suit yourself. What about you two?” Ivan did not mind; he knew Angie was keen on knightly training and even tried to entice the well-acquainted Helen to join her, rejecting other forms of training at heart.
Only the Scented Butterfly and Wind Moth had not declared their intentions.
The two rapid wood silkworms looked awkwardly at their mother, the Silkworm Queen.
“Sorcerer Ivan is asking you, why are you looking at me? Don’t expect me to join you; I’m not studying. Learning too much gives me a headache,” the Silkworm Queen glared at the two rapid wood silkworms, as if warning them not to drag her into this.
“Your mother has always enjoyed taking it easy; don’t mind her,” Ivan said.
Hearing his words, the Silkworm Queen was tempted to defend herself but feared being forced into service, so she decided to feign ignorance.
“We are willing to learn.”
The Scented Butterfly and the Wind Moth exchanged looks and nodded emphatically. Especially the latter, which had long been stuck at Level 2, unable to advance.
It appeared that the Wind Moth had reached the upper limit of its potential, and Sorcerer Ivan’s attention towards it had decreased noticeably.
The Wind Moth, being strong-willed, could not help but temper its temperament and chose to explore another path.
In fact, the Wind Moth had its strengths in sorcerer training.
Years ago, it had fortuitously absorbed a sorcerer’s residual power, igniting its spiritual intelligence and transforming it into an intelligent creature.
There was a certain connection between the Wind Moth and sorcerers.
Ivan was aware of this and held a favorable view of the Wind Moth in this aspect.
However, he did not teach meditation directly. The rapid wood silkworms, after all, were too different from humans, and the Meditation Method needed significant adjustments.
His offer to teach meditation was not impulsive but a meticulous attempt and a deeper exploration of the Meditation Method.
If the rapid wood silkworms succeeded in practicing the Meditation Method and even progressed to official sorcerers, the future spreading of the sorcery training system would extend vastly, nurtured continuously by the Witch’s Favor.
Now, with many Level 4 Sorcerers advocating it, teaching other races the Meditation Method was becoming inevitable, and he need not hold any reservations.

It couldn’t be that those who learn his Formation knowledge could do it, but he, the one imparting the knowledge, could not.
Unknown to others, while other sorcerers turned their attention to alien races, the creator of the Black Demon Fire Silk Array had turned to insect lifeforms.
Time swiftly passed, and before long, it was three months later.
While busy in his lab, Ivan suddenly noticed a disturbance nearby; a colorful force emerged out of nowhere, radiating with a familiar primordial essence, then quietly seeped into his body, invigorating him.
What else could this be if not the Witch’s Favor?
