Chapter 7: True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control
Several days later.
Inside the Cave Abode, Lu Yang sat upright on a meditation cushion. His right hand formed a seal, and a speck of spiritual light condensed at his fingertips, finally transforming into a white bone flying sword as thin as a cicada’s wing.
The sword was pale white, and when it vibrated, it resounded with the sound of thunder.
“Go!”
Lu Yang flicked his finger, and the white bone flying sword instantly turned into a magnificent streak of light several dozen feet long, shooting out. The sword light whistled through the air like rolling heavenly thunder.
“Good sword art!”
Seeing this, a look of joy appeared on Lu Yang’s face. He then changed his hand seal, and the white bone flying sword immediately split into two in mid-air.
In the next second, Lu Yang’s figure vanished from his original spot as if teleporting, reappearing directly where one of the sword lights was located. As the seals in Lu Yang’s hands changed, his figure seemed to transform into a bolt of lightning, moving freely between the two streaks of sword light.
This continued for a long time until Lu Yang finally stopped, his face full of excitement.
“Good! What a [True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control]!”
This sword art was actually quite simple. Once a cultivator mastered it, they could split sword lights and then instantly teleport into any lights.
The higher the spiritual power, the farther the teleportation distance.
If the Sect Master of the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion] were to personally take action, he could even sit within the sect and strike with a sword that teleported ten thousand miles away, effortlessly taking an enemy’s head while talking and laughing.
And this was merely the elementary variation of the sword art.
It was said that at higher levels, one could truly manifest the might of Divine Lightning within the sword light. Unfortunately, that part of the cultivation technique was not something Lu Yang could get his hands on.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t extract it, but rather that Yun Miaoqing herself didn’t know it.
However, this was normal. After all, if it were the complete [True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control], a mere 1000 Contribution Points certainly wouldn’t be enough to buy it— 10,000 points would be more like it.
“Hmph, incredibly stupid!”
A cold sneer came from behind. Lu Yang turned around to see the woman from the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion] looking at him with disgust, disdain, and contempt.
After spending many days together, Lu Yang had gained a relatively deep understanding of her.
The woman’s name was Yun Miaoqing. She was an Inner Sect disciple of the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion], studied under Master Shen Xiao, majored in the [True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control], and once possessed a cultivation base at the Sixth Layer of Qi Refining.
Lu Yang looked at Yun Miaoqing and asked curiously, “Did I use the sword art incorrectly?”
Hearing this, Yun Miaoqing turned her head away. “Do you think I would tell you? Demon, even if you secretly learned my sword art, you’re just imitating a tiger with a cat as a model!”
“Why bother?”
Lu Yang shook his head and walked up to Yun Miaoqing, looking helpless. “Are you sure you don’t plan to tell me? Or are you going to force me to use that again?”
“That…”
Yun Miaoqing stared fixedly at Lu Yang.
“Isn’t it just that Demonic Art? Do you think I will yield?”
“Although you say that… you’ve already yielded once.” Lu Yang pointed to the crest on Yun Miaoqing’s chest and said, “You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
“You’re talking nonsense!”
Looking at the mark on her body, Yun Miaoqing pursed her lips in humiliation. “That time was just you taking advantage of my weakness!”
After speaking, she tightly gripped the pendant hanging around her neck.
It was an exquisitely constructed small white jade sword. It was a dharma sword that only disciples of the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion] could possess, functioning similarly to Lu Yang’s disciple token.
“I am a disciple of the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion]. I am irreconcilable with the Demonic Path and this will absolutely never change!”
“No matter how powerful your Demonic Art is… the human heart will not change because of the bewitchment of these evil, heretical paths.”
“My loyalty to the Sword Pavilion will also absolutely never waver.”
“I swear upon my dharma sword!”
As her voice fell, Yun Miaoqing gritted her silver teeth and looked at Lu Yang with firm eyes, like a pure lotus flower deeply mired in mud yet unstained by dust.
Another day later.
Inside the Cave Abode, Lu Yang sat cross-legged on the cushion in the five-hearts-to-heaven posture.
After a long time, Lu Yang exhaled a heavy breath of turbid air.
“You have actually mastered the [True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control] very proficiently. There are no major problems. Even if there is a problem, it lies in external objects…”
Yun Miaoqing said weakly.
Under Lu Yang’s severe interrogation, she had finally begged for mercy. When Lu Yang asked her again, she just snorted coldly, then obediently explained:
“Disciples of our Sword Pavilion, upon entering the Qi Refining Realm, use the sect’s secret method to take the Essence of Metal and supplement it with various external medicines to refine a Sword Pellet. All sword techniques in the Sword Pavilion require the assistance of a Sword Pellet to unleash their full power. The higher the quality of the Sword Pellet, the greater the power of the sword technique.”
After Yun Miaoqing’s explanation, Lu Yang finally understood.
Currently, cultivating the [True Art of Divine Lightning Sword Control], he could only differentiate two sword lights, and the effect was limited to teleportation. The speed was fast, but the attack power was insufficient.
However, once he had the boost of a Sword Pellet, the number of sword lights Lu Yang could differentiate would at least double.
At the same time, he could merge his body with the Sword Pellet. While maneuvering within the sword lights, he could unleash astonishing slashing attacks. Relying on this to battle others would give him a dominant advantage.
In a head-on clash, Lu Yang only needed to control the Sword Pellet and scatter sword lights around. Once the opponent was surrounded by sword lights, it would be like falling into his trap.
Thereafter, no matter what methods the opponent used, he could easily evade and attack from another direction, leaving them exhausted from parrying. After pulling them back and forth for a few rounds like this, the opponent would naturally reveal a fatal flaw. At that time, he would strike with full force, and the opponent would basically be doomed.
“Therefore, the disciples of my [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion] are the number one in combat in Jiangnan!”
Speaking of this, a look of pride instantly appeared on Yun Miaoqing’s face.
When she said this, a proud expression instantly appeared on Yun Miaoqing’s face.
However, the very next second, with Lu Yang’s sudden movement, the pride on her face immediately disappeared, replaced by a blush, and she could not help letting out a nasal sound.
Yun Miaoqing closed her beautiful eyes tightly and silently waited for a moment, but found Lu Yang not moving anymore.
Feeling uneasy, she twisted a bit, then opened her eyes
“Demon, you…”
Lu Yang stood up and changed his clothes. “So the difference lies in the Sword Pellet. I also know the method of refining it now… Hmm, I’m done with you. Go rest.”
Yun Miaoqing: “???”
Suddenly separated, the only emotion left on Yun Miaoqing’s face was confusion.
Is he lying? It’s over just like that?
Where’s the ‘torture’?
In the next second, she snapped back to reality and subconsciously gripped the dharma sword around her neck tightly. “No, this is fine… I am a disciple of the [Jade Pivot Sword Pavilion]…”
…
“I have to make money.”
Walking out of the Cave Abode, Lu Yang began to think about the future.
“I currently only have 50 Contribution Points. After deducting 30 points for this month’s Cave Abode rent, if I don’t make money soon, I’ll have to move back to the [Joyous Union Hall] next month.”
In the Primordial Saint Sect, there were many ways to earn Contribution Points.
These included, but were not limited to, salaries for various positions within the sect, selling personal items, rewards for completing bounties, sect missions, and so on.
“But for a ‘Three-No’ disciple like me—no backer, no property, no strength—there’s no way to get introduced to a sect position. Most of my personal items aren’t worth much, and I don’t have the ability to complete high-priced bounties. My only choice is sect missions—working for the sect just to barely maintain a living…”
The more Lu Yang thought about it, the angrier he got.
I’m already cultivating immortality, and I still have to work?!
