Chapter 84: Desiring to Pacify the Shaman-Ghost Realm!

Shaman-Ghost Secret Realm, Main Altar of the Nether Whisper Sect.

Unlike other places in the secret realm, as the main altar of the Nether Whisper Sect, with various Ghost Messengers clearing away Shaman-Ghosts, over time, a city was even built here.

Its name was ‘City of Unjust Deaths’.

In the center of the majestic city, a divine statue shot straight into the clouds.

Almost eighty percent of the secret realm’s population gathered within this ‘City of Unjust Deaths.’ Every minute and second, they could see this heaven-reaching statue.

Its appearance was shockingly that of Patriarch Nether Whisper. Below the statue stood a magnificent and resplendent palace, the seclusion ground for the eight Elders of the Nether Whisper Sect. The Nether Whisper Sect had no Sect Leader, solely revering the Patriarch. Therefore, all affairs were decided jointly by the eight Elders.

Usually, only one of the eight Elders was on duty, while the other seven remained in a dormant state.

After all, the Nether Whisper Sect’s system involved feeding ghosts with one’s body, resulting in extremely short lifespans. Without this method to extend their lives, they would suffer backlash from the Shaman-Ghosts within a few years.

However, at this moment, a full six Elders had entered a state of recovery.

Grand Elder White Impermanence sat at the head seat. He looked extremely young, dressed entirely in white, tall and thin, with a creepy smile always hanging on his face: “The Patriarch Statue being destroyed is no small matter.”

“Before the statue was destroyed, a decree came from the Patriarch, ordering us to find the person who destroyed the statue at all costs. That is why I awakened all Junior Brothers together.”

Speaking of this, White Impermanence looked at the two empty seats and frowned: “Where are the two Junior Brothers, Civil and Military Judges?”

A sturdy man clad in armor and holding a sharp weapon, with a bull’s head hanging from one shoulder armor, stood up and said: “They just returned to their positions; recovery still needs time.”

White Impermanence nodded upon hearing this: “Fine, the matter is not urgent for a moment.”

Before his voice fell, another Daoist in black robes stood up. His face was fierce, his body wide and fat, and he said maliciously: “If you ask me, why wait for them to recover?”

“According to the sect’s records, although there are many experts in the outside world, those truly reaching the Patriarch’s level dare not enter. And cultivators below the Patriarch are at most on par with us. Wasn’t that the case with those outsiders who trespassed on the main altar a few days ago, claiming to be ‘Divine Martial Sect disciples’?”

“Rather than waiting bitterly here, why don’t we take a step ahead?”

“Anyway, the Day and Night Wandering Gods have both returned to their positions. We can just monitor inside and outside the secret realm. Let’s see how that outsider can hide; he certainly cannot escape our palms.”

“What Senior Brother says is very true.”

The person who agreed was a handsome youth with a third eye on his forehead. He laughed: “A mere wild cultivator from the outside world, how can he be our opponent?”

The Eight Great Elders of the Nether Whisper Sect might have had their own names before being promoted, but after becoming Elders, they would only use the names of the Red-Clothed Ghosts they controlled as their external titles. They were Black and White Impermanence, Civil and Military Judges, Ox-Head and Horse-Face, and Day and Night Wandering Gods, each with their own miraculous means.

The three-eyed youth who spoke was the ‘Day Wandering God’ of the Day and Night Wandering Gods.

As the name suggested, his Shaman-Ghost was the third eye on his brow. Golden in color and shaped like the great sun, opening the eye allowed him to observe all manifest things within the secret realm.

The other ‘Night Wandering God’ was the exact opposite, able to observe all hidden things within the secret realm.

With the two joining forces, everything happening inside the Shaman-Ghost Secret Realm was like observing patterns on their palms to the Nether Whisper Sect. No matter how powerful, nothing could escape their Dharma Eyes.

Clearly, the eight Elders were vaguely divided into two factions.

White Impermanence and Ox-Head and Horse-Face counted as one faction, advocating prudence and wanting to wait until all eight were present before searching for the person who destroyed the Patriarch Statue.

Black Impermanence and Day and Night Wandering Gods were full of confidence, believing outsiders were nothing special and that they could easily handle it themselves.

“Junior Brother is too reckless.”

Grand Elder White Impermanence shook his head, the smile on his face unchanged: “This matter is not just about the Patriarch Statue being destroyed and the sect losing some face.”

“It is because the person who destroyed the statue concerns a grand plan of this sect.”

“Junior Brothers are all aware that although this place is good, it is ultimately a cage. If we want to live longer, or even reach higher realms, we must leave.”

“Oh?”

Black Impermanence’s eyes flashed slightly upon hearing this, but he said unbelievingly: “Senior Brother means that person can help us leave this place? Impossible. Who can break the Heavenly Sword?”

At these words, the other Elders also revealed looks of fear one after another. The so-called “Heavenly Sword” was naturally that Golden Core Sword Qi hanging high above the Shaman-Ghost Secret Realm. For a thousand years, it had long become a nightmare in the hearts of everyone in the secret realm. No one dared to harbor thoughts of contending with it.

“Just because we can’t break it doesn’t mean no one outside can.”

White Impermanence chuckled lightly: “The Patriarch has long planned this. As long as we find a way to capture this person, we can naturally use his strength to leverage a counterattack and break that damned Heavenly Sword.”

White Impermanence spoke with certainty, appearing extremely confident.

Although Black Impermanence and the others still harbored doubts, since White Impermanence explicitly stated this was the Patriarch’s plan, they no longer insisted on their own opinions.

Just then, two more auras surfaced within the great hall.

On the empty seats, two figures, one substantial and one illusory, emerged. One holding a brush and book, the other hanging a bright mirror high—these were precisely the final two Elders.

“The Civil and Military Judges have also recovered!”

White Impermanence laughed loudly seeing this: “Good. I ask Day and Night Wandering Gods to take action. As soon as the target is locked, Ox-Head and Horse-Face will help us rush over quickly.”

Day and Night Wandering Gods nodded upon hearing this, then both opened their Dharma Eyes.

However, the next second, they were stunned.

“Two Junior Brothers?” White Impermanence frowned and said in a low voice: “Could it be that the person who destroyed the Patriarch Statue is extremely good at hiding, and you cannot find his tracks?”

“No…”

Day and Night Wandering Gods revealed looks of disbelief, then said hesitantly: “He isn’t hiding anywhere else… He is right outside the City of Unjust Deaths.”

Outside the City of Unjust Deaths, Lu Yang’s main body held the Myriad Spirits Banner, standing with hands clasped behind his back.

How can one allow others to snore beside one’s bed? Since he intended to turn the Shaman-Ghost Secret Realm into his base, Lu Yang naturally couldn’t allow the Nether Whisper Sect to exist.

Moreover, he also wanted to meet that remnant elder of the Shaman-Ghost Dao behind the Nether Whisper Sect.

“Let’s say hello first.”

With a thought from Lu Yang, a round light reflected behind his head, clear as a mirror. Borrowing the stature of [The Sage Steals], he looked down at the city from above.

Almost simultaneously, nearly all cultivators of the Nether Whisper Sect sensed it.

However, no one understood what was happening. They only saw the Shaman-Ghosts inside their bodies suddenly start to riot, emitting indescribable miserable screams.

The next second—

“Mystic Yin Seizing Form Great Art.”

Lu Yang made a cutting motion with his fingers. The round light that reflected the entire city shattered quietly. Subsequently, a terrifying curse-killing power spread out.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Without any warning, inside the City of Unjust Deaths, the mortals were unaffected, but the cultivators suddenly showed expressions of horror, then clutched their necks.

On their necks, a fissure emerged.

Immediately after, blood flowed like a fountain.

Thud!

The sound of countless heads falling to the ground converged, uniform and orderly, turning into an earth-shattering muffled thud that instantly spread throughout the entire city!

In an instant, countless Shaman-Ghosts lost the cultivators restricting them. They rushed into the sky, yet swarmed uncontrollably toward Lu Yang outside the city. Lu Yang opened the Myriad Spirits Banner, swallowing like a whale and drinking like the sea, refusing no one. In less than a moment, he had collected hundreds, even thousands of Shaman-Ghosts!

“Audacious madman!!!”

Only then did eight scarlet escape lights rise with a boom from the center of the City of Unjust Deaths. Within the escape lights, the eight Elders of the Nether Whisper Sect had eyes splitting with rage.

They didn’t care about the almost completely annihilated congregants.

However, Lu Yang’s act of collecting Shaman-Ghosts instantly enraged them. Every Shaman-Ghost was vital to the Nether Whisper Sect; this was digging up their roots!

White Impermanence immediately stepped forward: “Are you the thief who destroyed the Patriarch Statue of my sect?”

Lu Yang ignored White Impermanence’s question. He simply looked around, seeming to sense something, then looked at the heaven-reaching statue inside the City of Unjust Deaths.

“So it was there.”

The next second, Lu Yang’s figure vanished from the spot.

“What!?”

The eight Elders turned pale with shock, subconsciously looking around. Finally, they saw Lu Yang sitting cross-legged atop the head of that heaven-reaching statue in the center of the city.

He lowered his gaze to look directly at the statue and smiled calmly: “I have come as invited. Where is Senior?”
