Chapter 134: The Frost Blessing

Every reflection possessed strength no less than that of a Hero. They attacked the Heroes in groups of two or three.

In an instant, the Heroes of the fortress found themselves engaged in a fierce struggle.

The dark worshipers rushed to the scene. Under the enhancement of the night, the power of darkness grew stronger. The Divine Descendants at Moore’s mansion were in grave danger.

Some Divine Awakened wielded marvelous Wonders, activating various strange powers, skillfully dealing with the shadow attacks of the dark worshipers.

Other Divine Awakened were poor and had only their flesh and fists to confront the terror of death at this moment.

The Pseudo-Heroes, relying on their awakened innate Authorities, fought back and forth with the dark worshipers, occasionally managing to kill a few unfortunate ones.

Ace, the eagle, soared in the sky. His Insight Perception and ordinary vision were pushed to the limit. Seizing the opportunity of the chaotic battle, he was ready to make a huge profit!

These were not just Heroes and dark worshipers; they were martial techniques, Authorities, and runes!

Alexius stood aside. With a wave of his hand, the waiting dark priests moved out. The Pseudo-Heroes were quickly trapped in a desperate struggle.

“This is only the appetizer. My main course, Moore Rona, I hope you arrive soon.”

Accompanied by Alexius’s whisper, a projection of a Great Demon gradually emerged from the pitch-black shadow behind him.

Ambrio looked at the crowd fighting fiercely in front of Moore’s mansion, gently shaking his head. A look of scornful amusement crossed his sinister face. With a wave of his hand, a swarm of hairless dogs appeared.

Their bodies were highly decomposed, and their movement was incredibly swift. From afar, they looked like skinned dog meat that hadn’t been cooked well.

“Then let them perform for me on the final stage. Please allow me to retreat first.”

Ambrio bowed slightly toward Alexius and vanished into the shadows.

Alexius noticed the swarm of hairless dogs. They were creations of a unique, maverick dark priest. Calling this priest “maverick” was because he could communicate directly with the Great Lord of Darkness, Dorkabach.

Although Alexius deeply resented him and viewed him as a threat, he could not bypass Dorkabach and kill him.

Now, too, the priest brought his hairless dogs but retreated first, clearly seeing through Alexius’s scheme, which only increased Alexius’s displeasure.

“The last person who displeased me—it seems his soul has been tormented in the shadows ever since. Will you be the next?” Alexius’s eyes flashed with ruthlessness as he watched the swarm of hairless dogs charge the Divine Descendants.

On the other side, thanks to Alexius summoning all the priests, the dark worshipers and Divine Descendants were concentrated at Moore’s mansion, fighting fiercely. Except for the Witch, no one noticed the Wizard Apprentices’ escape.

Betty, driving the Apprentice Model 1 and carrying four people, finally reached the first alley near the South Gate. She was panting heavily, her Mana consumption severely depleted.

Betty looked around and saw the familiar black cat Bayen, several members of her Enchantment Enthusiasts Research Group, and several people she had never seen before.

“I am Bayen, Emissary of the Torch-Bearer. Please follow my guidance and leave the fortress together. The covenant will inflict the deserved penalty on anyone who disobeys.” Black cat Bayen stood on the wall, conveying his words to every apprentice and their companions using the Lesser Sound Spell.

“Time is up. I can only express my regret for the Wizard Apprentices who did not arrive in time. All apprentices must bear the responsibility for the families or friends they brought. The consequences of your choices are yours to bear.”

The mirror image Ace, transformed into a Night Owl, had already prepared everything. He activated the charmed Solon. Using Solon’s familiarity with the South Gate and his status as a squad leader, they successfully opened a side door of the South Gate, quietly leading the crowd out of the vortex of chaos.

Just then, a Divine Awakened leading a squad of soldiers, who had been tasked with reinforcing the gate defenses, rushed over.

“Captain, that is the one who let those strange people out! Should we pursue them?” a soldier yelled, grabbing Solon.

“No need. We must first guard the gate. Lock this man up. We will interrogate him properly at dawn!”

The Witch glanced at Solon, her eyes complex and shifting. It was unclear what memories were resurfacing.

In the darkness, she watched the fleeing Wizard Apprentices and mortals, watching the leading black cat Bayen and the vigilant Night Owl Ace in the sky. Her red lips curved upward.

“How interesting. Are those the Devil worshipers the city-state speaks of? I wonder how they differ from me.”

The Witch was in no hurry. She watched the quietly escaping Wizard Apprentices, her eyes filled with fervent interest.

“How long has it been since a supernatural seed spontaneously emerged among mortals? Should I give them a push, further escalating the chaos, or should I crush this seed immediately?”

The graceful figure slowly dissolved. Only the enchanting, clear sound of her voice echoed, but no one knew her true intentions.

Inside the fortress, at Moore’s mansion.

It was past midnight, the darkest time. The power of darkness was at its most active and potent.

The influx of the hairless, rotting, cooked-meat dogs had turned the tide. The Divine Descendants in the fortress were on the verge of collapse.

Ace, the eagle, flew higher, looking toward the edges of the battle. He recognized these rotting dogs. Daina was almost killed by them. They were now even more powerful and ominous.

Ace felt uneasy. He prepared to record the battle while retreating!

Just then, Great Hero Moore Rona finally arrived with his men.

He saw the scene before him, his eyes tearing with rage!

The ice crystal short sword in his hand emitted a dazzling white light, instantly turning the darkness into day.

Accompanied by the dazzling light, the several streets surrounding the mansion were instantly frozen, turning into an ocean of frost.

This Frost Ocean contained Mana that surged like waves. All dark power that came into contact with it was instantly frozen. The dark worshipers who failed to escape were transformed into eternal ice sculptures in the brilliant light.

Ace, retreating, felt his eyes almost splitting from the intensity. That power is invincible. I want it so badly!

The Spirit of the Book instantly popped onto his head. The child-like voice said: “What refreshingly cold knowledge! This is the aura of a Pseudo-Epic!”

Alexius was also very familiar with the Wonder in Moore’s hand. The moment he saw Moore, he immediately retreated, quickly moving out of the Wonder’s attack range.

He was surprised that even the seemingly foolish hairless, rotting, cooked-meat dogs largely escaped, gathering together and starting to bite each other.

“A quasi-Treasure Wonder: The Frost Blessing!” Alexius whispered a few words, his eyes filled with apprehension.

Legend says this ice crystal short sword was the relic of Rysio Rona, the only son of the Rona ancestor, Rona, the God of Frost, who died young.

Rysio Rona, the Son of Frost, trusted his comrades implicitly but was betrayed by a fellow Divine Descendant and ambushed by Abyssal Demons. He died of exhaustion.

Before his death, he brandished this short sword, using the power of his Treasure.

Rysio’s Treasure could permanently transform the entire area into a world of frost. This frost was imbued with Mana. As long as one stood on this frost, Rysio possessed inexhaustible strength.

The active frost could also conjure various solid frost beasts and frost weapons to defeat the enemy.

Ultimately, Rysio was lifted high into the sky by the Demons and killed there. The short sword fell, becoming the famous quasi-Treasure Wonder, The Frost Blessing.
