Chapter 207: Artificial Elemental Life

“What exactly will be born from a spell composed of the Lesser Vitality Rune and the Lesser Fire Element Rune?”

As Ace finished speaking, the Spell Model activated. The surrounding Mana was rapidly siphoned, and the temperature in front of Ace began to rise, accompanied by the whoosh of burning flames.

A small flame was born in front of Ace and fell to the ground with a splat.

This flame did not go extinguish, but its light was slightly dim. Under Ace’s observation, the small flame actually stood up in a human-like manner, looking around somewhat blankly.

The mirror image canceled the other two Spell Models and observed this miraculous little flame with Ace.

“This is indeed fire,” the mirror image said after reaching out and getting burned by the flame. “The perceived temperature is not very high, and the flame is red.”

Ace took out a cast iron rod and passed it through the flame. The flame shivered like a living creature and looked around.

“There is almost no actual change to the cast iron. The temperature where it was burned by the flame increased slightly. The overall temperature of this flame is not high, which is expected since the Lesser Scorching Rune was not added.

Now, let’s test its reaction, obedience, and intelligence level.”

Ace commanded the flame using the vague connection between them, constantly telling it to run and jump. Under Ace’s mental command, the small flame began to run and jump. Before long, its flame grew dimmer, and its Mana seemed largely depleted.

It began to resist Ace’s mental commands. Ace increased his mental power, and the flame was forced to obey.

“Jump forward three times, then run straight to the parchment ahead and burn it.”

The flame “heard” Ace’s mental language. It jumped forward three times, then looked somewhat confused; it could not understand what parchment was.

After multiple attempts, Ace found that directly commanding it to move forward and stop on the parchment was easier to achieve.

“Low intelligence level, low comprehension. Overall, it requires a lot of mental command to control its actions. Mental commands that endanger its safety or excessive mental commands will trigger its instinctive resistance, which can only be resolved by strengthening mental power.”

Ace recorded the situation of his mental connection with the flame in his Grimoire. Suddenly, the scene of him being influenced by the whispering surfaced in his memory. He quickly wrote down another line.

“From the perspective of the ‘flame,’ is my mental influence on it also a kind of whispering from an unknown existence? Moreover, this whispering is more powerful and direct than the Abyss’s influence on me.

Can we hypothesize that when a higher-level existence has a close magical connection with a lower-level life form, the higher-level existence can intentionally or unintentionally produce an effect similar to whispering, thereby achieving influence or even control over the lower-level life?”

Ace immediately put his idea into practice. He began to consciously think about how to attack and kill. He did not use mental power specifically to influence it, but his fragmented thoughts were received by the flame through their vague mental connection.

The flame, having received Ace’s influence, seemed to become somewhat agitated. Its flame grew even dimmer. It seemed to hesitate, then rushed toward the mushroom patch, seemingly wanting to burn the mushrooms with fire.

Whoosh, whoosh. The evaporation of a large amount of water vapor from the mushrooms made the flame even dimmer. The flame frantically attacked and burned the mushrooms, finally extinguishing completely with a sizzle.

While observing the death of the flame and recording its short life, Ace recorded his thoughts in the Grimoire.

“First, it can be confirmed that this Spell Model composed of the Lesser Activation Rune, the overall unknown rune, and the Lesser Fire Element Rune can create a life-like elemental entity.

This elemental entity possesses life instincts and even simple thoughts, though no intelligence has been discovered so far.

Second, as its creator, I naturally have a strange mental connection with it. This connection is a huge discovery. Based on this connection, we can consider several questions.

How far is the range of this mental connection? What does it mean that this mental connection can produce an influence similar to the Abyssal Whispering? How can we fully utilize this mental connection, or even transplant its application to other areas?”

The mirror image also leaned in and said to Ace:

“Respected Host, we currently have two major discoveries. First, the Spell Model composed of Activation Runes can activate plants or inanimate objects, with extremely broad application scope and imaginative space. Second, this vague mental connection seems to be a rule, perhaps a rule of the world. If we can explore its secrets, perhaps we can solve the synchronization problem between the host body and the clone!”

Ace finished recording, nodded to the mirror image, and said: “Indeed. The second discovery cannot be thoroughly researched in a short time. Let us first figure out the basic applications of the first discovery, then experiment with the other two new runes and determine the situation with the unknown rune.”

Ace and the mirror image looked at each other and began synchronized thinking. Since the Fire Element could create elemental life, could other elemental lives be created, or could other inanimate objects and plants be activated?

Could they add more runes to explore more application possibilities?

The Aces thought for a while and decided to test an idea first.

“Based on the rune structure composed of nine runes just now, let’s add several different runes and check the effects one by one.”

Ace waved his hand casually. Accompanied by his mental tracing, nine Lesser Runes appeared in front of him.

“First, replicate three times.” With Ace’s mental replication, 27 Lesser Runes appeared. A total of 36 Lesser Runes formed four groups of rune rings, with nine runes in each group.

“Then, add the Lesser Luminous Rune, Lesser Scorching Rune, Lesser Explosion Rune, and Lesser Thought Activation Rune.” Ace said, tapping his finger lightly, causing the Lesser Runes to appear one by one.

The four different Lesser Runes flew to each group of rune rings respectively. Under Ace’s control, they formed four different Lesser Spell Model structures.

In the field of mental perception, the four Spell Models glittered like shy maidens, waiting for a miracle. As Ace slowly injected his mental power, the four Spell Models were activated, rapidly siphoning the surrounding Mana and driving a mysterious magical rhythm.

Ace and the mirror image carefully observed the magical rhythm within. There seemed to be an invisible rhythm, fleeting, creating an alternative connection between Ace and the Spell Models.

Ace and the mirror image looked at each other. The mirror image carefully observed the host body. That’s the fleeting rhythm!

Just then, the four spells were completed. Splat!

Four small flames of varying appearances fell to the ground, and the vague mental connection also emerged.
