Chapter 215: Polina's Desire

With the continuous accumulation of Mana, the magified hull began to tremble rhythmically. The Life Activation Magic Array lit up. Magical patterns and runes flashed, transforming into special Mana that surged into the entire hull.

The progress of the entire activation was exceptionally slow, far exceeding Ace’s expectations.

“Soul Spell-level activation is very different from Lesser Spell-level activation. It seems that while the vitality is greatly increased, the consumption of time and Mana has also increased tremendously!”

Ace did not hesitate. He immediately took out handfuls of Mana Stones from the Monster stomach pouch and quickly placed them at the pattern nodes, increasing the overall Mana input.

Buzz!

With the increase in overall Mana supply, the activation progress of the hull accelerated. After nearly three hours, when Ace had replaced the Soul Mana Stones eleven times, the entire hull finally completed its activation.

Sensing the fledgling mental telepathy of the hull, Ace activated the Covenant Magic Array. A magical paper filled with clauses floated over. The golden scale rose, and the Familiar Covenant was established.

With the establishment of the permanent Master-Servant Familiar Covenant, this activated Magic Ship became Ace’s familiar creature.

Ace performed a Permanent Activation on it. It could spontaneously siphon Mana through the Automatic Siphon ability granted by the Activation Magic Array and store it at the bottom of the hull.

Ace did not stop. The current activated Magic Ship was just a magical life form without much intelligence. It had to be enlightened. With the surge of Mana, the patterns near the Enlightenment Magic Array fluctuated bit by bit, then lit up.

Mana transformed into dots of starlight, circling the Magic Ship and slowly merging into it.

Through mental telepathy, Ace sensed a somewhat childish voice gradually emerging from the Magic Ship’s ignorant thoughts, babbling like an infant.

The cowlick on Ace’s head suddenly stood up. The Knowledge Infusion ability activated, packaging knowledge such as the Common Language, basic common sense, basic operation of the Magic Ship, attack, and defense, and stuffing it into this nascent consciousness.

Betty looked at the activated hull, a glimmer of longing in her eyes. She whispered: “I want to create an activated machine, an intelligent machine!”

It seemed that too much knowledge information had been stuffed in. The Magic Ship’s nascent consciousness fell into a deep sleep, seemingly slowly digesting this knowledge.

The mirror image returned to the Magic Castle in Nightlight City to continue producing muskets and cannons to equip the fleet.

Ace took the opportunity to complete the subsequent construction of the Magic Ship, coating its exterior with paint refined from Monster materials as a shell.

He inscribed rune arrays such as Fortification, Reinforcement, Concealment, and Mana-Crystal Shield on the shell. Wind Element Rune Arrays were inscribed on the sails to adjust direction. Displacement Propulsion Rune Arrays were inscribed below and behind the hull, allowing Magic to propel the sailing ship away quickly if necessary.

The interior space of the hull was fully inscribed with Seamless Expansion Rune Arrays, Mass Reduction Rune Arrays, Reinforcement Rune Arrays, and Constant Light Orb Rune Arrays. Different rooms were inscribed with various functional rune arrays.

At the bottom of the ship, there was a massive Mana storage medium and a Mana Conversion Array. The Magic Ship constantly siphoned Mana from the surrounding environment and stored it in the bottom Mana storage medium for the entire ship’s use.

On the hull’s exterior and interior, Ace led the apprentices to inscribe numerous offensive rune arrays bit by bit, making the entire Magic Ship a mobile magical fortress at sea, combining rapid navigation, magical defense, and magical offense.

A month had passed since all this was done. The other five ordinary ships had been launched long ago. Borg, with the prepared crew, had been drilling on the ships for nearly three weeks.

There were 80 crew members on the flagship and 60 on each of the other sailing ships, totaling 320 crew members. The flagship was equipped with 13 cannons and 30 muskets; the ordinary sailing ships were equipped with 8 cannons and 20 muskets.

The consciousness of the Magic Brig had awakened. The entire Magic Ship was staffed with only a few mortals responsible for catering. The Magic Ship could handle other matters on its own.

The fleet of six brigs was quietly docked at the military port berth of the harbor. Ace stood on the shore, looking at this 30-meter-long Magic Ship, a sense of pride welling up in his heart.

Except for the twenty-some Wizard Apprentices on garrison duty, all the remaining Wizard Apprentices had gathered on the shore, waiting to visit the first Magic Sailing Ship belonging to Wizards.

Ace addressed the Wizard Apprentices waiting on the shore, using the Amplification Spell to project his loud voice:

“This is a creation unique to Magic, a miracle unique to Wizards!

This is a Magic Ship with its own consciousness. This is a Magic Ship that can converse with people. This is a living and intelligent Magic Ship that can autonomously complete commands such as navigation, defense, attack, and internal cleaning under a Wizard’s order!

I name it the Seeker. It is composed of the prefix for ‘pursuit’ and the root for ‘knowledge.’ This name symbolizes our Wizards’ relentless pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge is eternal, Magic is eternal!”

The apprentices looked at the Seeker, their emotions stirring. This was a creation of Magic, a miracle of Magic. They cheered along: “Knowledge is eternal, Magic is eternal!”

Accompanied by their voices, the Seeker proactively sailed toward the shore. The hull leaned against the shore. The planks on the side of the hull blurred and surged, actually growing a wooden ladder that extended to the shore.

Led by Ace, the apprentices filed onto the fresh wooden ladder.

Polina followed the crowd, visiting this Magic Sailing Ship with a cheerful mood. The dense Mana environment made her feel thoroughly comfortable all over.

Under Ace’s command, they stood in a circle on the deck. The wooden deck beneath their feet squirmed, directly turning into a large circular wooden board, carrying them gliding across the deck.

After the circular activated wooden board carried everyone for a lap around the deck, Ace said to the amazed apprentices:

“This is one of the Seeker’s abilities. As an integrated magical creature composed of over ten thousand pieces of once-activated wood, it can separate a part of itself and activate it for a short time.

This activated wood can be of any shape and possesses a certain degree of intelligence and reaction, but it cannot exist for long. They will be natural crew members. Now everyone can visit freely.”

As Ace’s voice fell, the apprentices felt the deck beneath their feet squirm.

Clatter!

Clatter!

Little wooden figures crawled out of the squirming deck one after another. They were essentially sections of round short wood, only as long as half a person’s leg.

Round and chubby, they had short limbs made of wood, as well as wooden eyes, mouths, and ears.

This was a very important ability Ace bestowed upon the Magic Ship. Through proliferation, the Magic Ship could derive no more than 300 wooden Lesser Magical Lives in a short time.

These derived Lesser Magical Lives had diverse functions, including service types, crew types, and combat types. This was also why the Magic Ship didn’t need a crew; the derived Lesser Magical Lives were sufficient to complete all basic work.

Polina was instantly captivated by these little wooden figures. Her heart pounded, and an emotion named desire amplified incessantly in her heart.

I really want to know how to create this kind of magical creature. I really want to learn. If I can command a large group of magical creatures in the future, I won’t have to move bricks myself!

Just as Polina was imagining, Betty passed by her, deep in thought.

Betty gently waved her hands. Lesser Runes appeared one by one. As she pondered and tapped, they gradually formed a complex Lesser Spell Model.

Betty gently activated the Spell Model. Mana began to pulse. In front of her, a lump of earth appeared out of thin air, growing larger and larger. When the earth became about the size of a palm, it stopped growing and fell downward.

Betty reached out and caught the lump of earth, feeling its condition with a deep frown.

The introduction to the Life Rune Series had already appeared in the Grimoire’s Rune Library, and the basic Activation Spell had also appeared in the Spell Model exchange list. Betty learned it immediately and made micro-innovations.

The activation result was unsatisfactory. This Lesser Earth Elemental was very clumsy, which greatly disappointed Betty.

Polina, who witnessed all this from the side, looked at the lump of Lesser Earth Elemental in Betty’s hand. Her eyes instantly became bright. An emotion of extreme longing impacted her. She quietly approached the blonde, twin-tailed Betty from behind.
