Chapter 227: Summoning

Accompanied by intense fluctuations of Mana, the mist transformed from the sacrifice on the Sacrifice Magic Array surged into the Random Positioning Magic Array.

The entire Non-directional Summoning Magic Array was composed of four Magic Arrays: Sacrifice, Random Spatial Positioning, Covenant, and Summoning.

The Sacrifice Magic Array was an old friend of Ace, frequently used in Mirror Image Rituals and Blessing Rituals. It could be adapted with slight modifications.

Random Spatial Positioning was a completely new Magic Array. After researching the forbidden knowledge of the Abyss, Ace obtained a Spatial Coordinate Rune. Through this rune, he could communicate with corresponding locations within the world, whether on the Inner Plane or the Outer Plane.

However, Ace dared not communicate recklessly. This coordinate was almost certainly leading to a layer of the Abyss, quite possibly the layer of the Lord of Greyness. Communicating with it would be courting death.

After several experiments, Ace modified the coordinate rune. He spent more than half a year deducing a new rune group, the Random Coordinate Rune Group, used to generate random coordinates.

The Random Spatial Positioning Magic Array, in addition to random coordinate positioning, also had the functions of Mana Sensitivity and Insight Perception. In this way, Ace could judge the approximate strength of the targeted object and its environment.

If the strength was too high or the environment was wrong, he could terminate the process at any time.

The Summoning Magic Array was independently nested within the composite Magic Array, including the Spatial Coordinate Rune of Ace’s location and the Summoning Rune Group.

The entire summoning process involved first performing a sacrifice, then using the sacrificial mist as a driver to randomly locate a creature and judge its strength. After confirmation, a covenant would be established, and finally, the creature would be summoned.

There were currently three types of covenants: Master-Servant Covenant, Mutual Benefit Covenant, and Trade Covenant. Each covenant had a clause preventing harm to the summoner.

This was the result of Ace’s research and study over nearly half a year. The Spirit of the Book stored a vast amount of covenant knowledge that Ace could not understand yet, but even the small portion he could understand benefited him greatly.

Soon, the sacrificial mist merged into the Random Positioning Magic Array. Mana drove the sacrificial mist to breathe rhythmically. The spatial barrier was gradually breached, and the Random Coordinate Rune Group on the Random Positioning Magic Array flashed at high speed.

A string of peculiar symbols emerged, gradually merging into a unique rune. Ace hurriedly recorded it in his Grimoire. This was a Directional Spatial Coordinate Rune.

The perception effect activated. Ace’s mental tentacles touched the Random Positioning Magic Array. Instantly, like traversing space, he sensed the scene on the other side of the spatial barrier.

Ace, like a spirit body, suddenly crossed the spatial barrier. Through the effect of spatial positioning, he peered into the other side: a boundless grassland where herds of gigantic beasts were resting.

Under the touch of Mana Sensitivity, no Mana seemed to be detected. Ace felt somewhat incredulous. This was spatial positioning within the world. Could there be a Mana-less space somewhere?

The creatures’ actions seemed extremely rapid. The sky turned from night to day in an instant. Ace, observing, felt as if he were slowing down, or rather, time was flowing extremely fast at the coordinate location opposite.

He tried to find the targeted creature. After searching for a long time, he only found a human skeleton, which seemed to have been dead for decades.

Because no stable covenant relationship was established with the targeted creature, Ace was quickly rejected by this strange land. The spatial barrier gradually thickened. Like a dream fading, Ace’s consciousness instantly returned to his body.

He opened his eyes. The summoning ritual had failed, but he felt no frustration; instead, he was extremely excited.

“According to the description of the Spirit of the Book, this world is divided into Inner and Outer. The Inner is the Material Plane, and the Outer is the Sea of Illusion and Reality, containing countless dimensional spaces, demi-planes, and quasi-planes. I most likely located an unknown place, at least a dimensional space.

If the recorded spatial coordinates increase, I can create a book dedicated to recording these coordinates and information about related spaces, demi-planes, sub-planes, quasi-planes, and other strange lands. This book will be called the Book of Coordinates.

The Summoning Magic Array can pull and teleport creatures from the other side of the spatial barrier. Reverse summoning will inevitably be possible in the future. Perhaps one day, I will roam the entire World of Kaya!”

Ace became more excited as he spoke, finally almost shouting in the laboratory floor.

“It’s a pity the mirror image clone is gone; otherwise, he would definitely say, ‘Worthy of me.’”

Ace said with a hint of regret. Since the mirror image detonated the giant Monster, it had turned into soul fragments and returned to the host body.

He had a new concept for the Mirror Image Projection Ritual, aiming to use telepathy to realize the idea of the main consciousness commanding the sub-consciousness, allowing the main consciousness to descend into the clone’s body at any time.

He also had new ideas about separating soul fragments.

Restricted by his current strength and knowledge, he couldn’t perform it for the time being. Therefore, Ace decided not to project temporarily but to wait for the growth of the Wizard collective, attempting to use the collective power to shake the door of life level ascension.

Ace conducted multiple summoning experiments and recorded seven different spatial coordinates. These seven times, he did not encounter spaces with different time flow rates; all seven locations were somewhere within the Inner Plane of the World of Kaya.

He didn’t locate any humans or Monsters; they were all ordinary beasts or even plants, possessing no summoning value.

He also couldn’t reverse summon himself to the other side. After all, he hadn’t researched the method of reverse summoning yet; this was merely a hypothesis.

“This is the eighth time. I hope I randomly get a valuable, not-too-powerful creature.”

Ace muttered in a low voice while activating the Sacrifice Magic Array. As the sacrificial mist poured into the Random Positioning Magic Array, the spatial barrier seemed to be pulled closer. Ace was rapidly approaching a mysterious place.

A unique spatial coordinate rune emerged. After recording it, Ace touched the Random Positioning Magic Array with his mental tentacles. With a feeling like traversing space, he peered at that coordinate location like a spirit body.

Dazzling deep red light, several pale red lights, a magnificent hall. Several people seemed to be discussing something. As soon as Ace’s spirit perspective appeared, the people with pale red lights did not react, but the figure with deep red light seemed to sense something. His eyes stared with anger in the direction of Ace’s spirit perspective.

“Holy crap! Did I locate the lair of some Great Hero? Sorry for disturbing!”

Ace, in spirit perspective, almost suffocated, although he shouldn’t be able to feel suffocation right now.

If a spirit body could scramble, then he scrambled to withdraw his mental tentacles rapidly, trying to cut off the connection with the coordinates before the other party could react.

The distance of the spatial barrier began to lengthen. Ace, as a spirit perspective, was sneaking away.

The Divine Descendant Noble of Great Hero level sitting in the main seat seemed to sense something. With a cold snort, a left hand seemed to extend from under the deep red light, and a dazzling light like the morning glow appeared.

Ace, retreating along the original path, was grazed by the aftershock of the dazzling authority like morning glow. The power of the morning glow burned up along his mental tentacles like maggots on a bone.
