Chapter 235: Equivalent Summoning

Having made up his mind, Ace took advantage of the fact that he had just used the Youth Potion and his body was still relatively robust to hurry to a secret room on the third floor of the West Tower.

He was able to construct the secret room and encrypt Magic Items thanks to the Sure-Hit Spear obtained in the Baal Mountains seven years ago.

Ace’s clone analyzed the spear, obtaining the secret of rune encryption within it, and acquired the conceptual rune of Sure-Hit. Once the Sure-Hit rune is added to an offensive Spell Model, the Mana consumption increases drastically, and the attack range shrinks to less than a meter.

The throwing spear worked by aiming and throwing it near the locked enemy first, then letting the spear rely on the Sure-Hit concept to complete the final stage of the attack.

The application range of the Encryption Rune was very wide. Not only could it create secret rooms, but it could also encapsulate the rune structures of Magic Items, making it impossible for others to observe them effectively with mental perception.

Ace placed his hand on the key-sensing door of the secret room. Matching with soul fluctuations, the sensing door slowly opened.

Inside was a circular room, five meters high with a radius of five meters.

Dense, mysterious patterns were drawn on the floor and walls, flickering intermittently.

Feeling his body weakening every moment, Ace dared not wait long. He sat on a Magic Array, took out the spatial stomach pouch from his waist, and placed the Soul Mana Stones inside.

Then he stood up and placed Soul Mana Stones on another Magic Array.

“I hope I can contact that benevolent existence from last time and trade with him.”

Ace dragged his exhausted body out of the secret room and went to the magical material storage room, which was inscribed with Organ Preservation Rune Arrays. Ace packed the head and shattered heart of the giant Monster into the spatial stomach pouch and returned to the secret room shortly after.

This dense composite Magic Array was called the Equivalent Summoning Ritual Magic Array by Ace.

It consisted of the Spatial Positioning Magic Array, Summoning Magic Array, Fair Covenant Magic Array, Equivalent Exchange Magic Array, and Token Magic Array.

Ace skillfully embedded the corresponding Spatial Coordinate Rune into the Spatial Positioning Magic Array and placed the token obtained from the last equivalent exchange—a small bubble.

Ace gazed at the bubble; it was colorful inside.

Dream Bubble of Joy. This was the name of the token. The owner of the token had turned his joyful mood into a dream and stored it inside.

Because an Advanced Apprentice’s perception was insufficient to observe this magical item, Ace had wanted to keep it until he advanced to Formal Wizard to study its mysteries.

Unfortunately, there was no time to wait now. His physical problems compelled him to contact that existence again.

Ace placed the Dream Bubble of Joy on the Token Magic Array and activated the Spatial Positioning Magic Array and the Token Magic Array. Mana pulsed rhythmically. The spatial barrier gradually thinned, and Ace was constantly getting closer to the node discovered by chance last time.

On the Outer Plane of the world, endless spaces, demi-planes, sub-planes, and quasi-planes floated here. Void Beings roamed in the Sea of Illusion and Reality, and countless Dream Beings shuttled through it.

A gigantic, crystal-clear creature was resting somewhere in the Sea of Illusion and Reality. Calling it gigantic was relative; it was about a hundred meters long, with a waist circumference close to sixty meters.

In its sleep, He was yawning. Colorful dream bubbles emerged from his nostrils, surrounding him, forming a dream mist stretching for thousands of meters.

A Void Worm accidentally entered the mist and was instantly captured by it, unable to move.

The sleeping crystal-clear creature seemed to be awakened by the worm. He snored somewhat unhappily, spread his crystal-clear wings, and opened his eyes, revealing colorful pupils.

He “stood” in the void. Short, thick limbs, lion claws, a snake tail, and a lizard-like head. Looking closely at his crystal-clear skin, one would find it covered with a layer of tough, glowing scales.

His soft abdomen was inlaid with various supernatural gems, forming a sturdy abdominal armor.

“So hungry. I want a big meal! What is wrong with this world? Why can’t I enter the Material Plane? I am not a True God, just a Demigod. Is the world discriminating against me because I am an outsider?”

Having just feasted in his dream, He opened his eyes to find himself still floating in the endless Sea of Illusion and Reality, having eaten nothing. Angrily, He grabbed the Void Worm and kicked it around like a ball.

“Should I try entering a dimensional space again?”

He kicked the Void Worm for a while, feeling very bored. He tossed it onto the mist to hang and pondered.

In fact, He had tried entering dimensional spaces many times. Regrettably, these spaces were too fragile to withstand the descent of a Demigod existence. He tried to force his descent to find some food, resulting in the destruction of these dimensional spaces.

Destroying dimensional spaces within the world increased the World Source’s aversion to Him. As a great existence capable of traversing the Astral Plane, He felt very wronged.

He just wanted to find something delicious. Why was it so hard?

After thinking carefully for a while, He finally chose to give up. As for other demi-planes and sub-planes, they all had solid planar crystal walls. More importantly, having consumed most of his power traversing the Astral Plane, He was no match for the Demigods and Deities of this world.

Just then, He felt waves of weak and familiar summoning.

“Interesting bug. He contacted me again. I wonder what he prepared this time.”

Bored out of his mind, He responded to the summoning with great interest.

Ace watched the space drawing closer bit by bit. He could sense the situation on the other side, the intertwining of illusion and reality. The Spirit of the Book on his head was also observing and communicating with Ace.

No mistake. The other side was indeed the Sea of Illusion and Reality. The other party was a great existence capable of surviving in the Sea of Illusion and Reality.

Ace remembered clearly that to survive in the Sea of Illusion and Reality, apart from Void, Dream, and Quasi-Rule Beings, only existences above the Legendary Hero level could do so.

Even across the spatial barrier, Ace could feel the other party’s power and vastness. It wasn’t deliberately created, but pressure inadvertently revealed by the other party.

Under the observation of the Mana Sensitivity spell, nothing could be discovered, which further convinced Ace that this was an existence of terrifying strength. If it weren’t absolutely necessary, Ace wouldn’t want to call upon this one, even if He seemed friendly and communicative last time.

The gap in life forms was too great. It was like if an ant called upon a human. The human would certainly look curiously, or even satisfy this strange ant’s idea, but given the huge gap, even if the human had good intentions, it might not lead to a good result.

In just an instant, many thoughts flashed through Ace’s mind. The Fair Covenant Magic Array began to activate. Ace called upon this crystal-clear existence, attempting to communicate with Him.

He looked at the emerging covenant and grinned with his large, crystal-clear mouth: “What an interesting bug, actually wanting to trade fairly with Me. I grant it. I bestow upon you the opportunity for fair trade. Now let’s see what you can offer Me.”

Through the Magic Array, Ace heard the existence’s words. It wasn’t the Common Language, but it struck directly at the soul, allowing Ace to understand instantly.

Ace said respectfully: “Great Existence, I wish to sacrifice the fresh head and heart of an Intermediate Monster to You in exchange for a gift that can restore my body’s foundation and reach the Hero level.”

Crystal-clear He stood up, peering through the Magic Array at Ace and the Monster’s head and heart, and said:

“You seem to be a pure mortal-blood creature. To have achieved a leap in soul level is not simple.

However, your body has not kept up with this leap. The body cannot bear the soul; the final result is only collapse. It is not impossible to save, but I am not interested in your sacrifice.”
