Chapter 382: Malgan

Ace’s heart throbbed slightly. In his Mental Imagery World, the stars twinkled in the sky, bringing an inexplicable sense of palpitation. Hidden within Helix’s shadow, Ace manipulated the stars of his Mental Imagery World and subconsciously used the 3-Ring Spell “Astrological Divination”!

As the Spell Model—a sphere mixed with stars and trajectories of destiny located on the second layer of the pyramid of rune structures deep within the Mental Imagery World—shone brightly, the Mana inside the Mental Imagery World began to surge like a turbulent storm. A mysterious connection formed between the stars in the Mental Imagery World and the real stars outside. The strings of destiny seemed to be plucked gently, as if a pair of wise eyes had pierced through layers of fog to glimpse a trace of the future.

Ace did not use or affect the mana of the Prime Material Plane, as that would inevitably cause mana disorder throughout Norton City, thereby exposing him to the enemy.

Inside Ace’s Mental Imagery World, the water level of the dazzling Lake of Mana dropped at a speed visible to the naked eye. Massive amounts of Star Mana evaporated. The starry sky of the Mental Imagery World arranged itself according to a certain law, harmonizing with the real world. Fate’s sprites seemed to be singing. Ace’s True Spirit held the 3-Ring Spell Model “Astrological Divination” high. Stars surrounded him like a brilliant galaxy. An invisible rhythm was plucked, and the song of destiny quietly rang out.

Ace saw it. Amidst the haze, in an ancient and simple palace, Ludendorff stood before a giant mirror, seemingly murmuring something. Opposite the mirror was a magnificent palace where a burly man wearing a pure gold laurel crown was saying something to Ludendorff.

Their expressions were solemn and serious, as if something extremely significant was happening.

Ace instantly realized that Ludendorff had used some kind of wonder to exchange information directly with the kings of other city-states.

“Helix may not have been exposed yet, but we cannot pin our hopes on the other party being unaware. We must act immediately!”

Under Ace’s urging, Helix took steps that covered the distance of three, then simply flew up and charged directly toward the mansion of Malgan Norton, the only Golden Hero in the Northern Border.

His rough and rapid behavior naturally attracted people’s attention. Since Helix often served as an envoy to various city-states, many Divine Descendants of Norton City-State knew him.

“It’s the Great Hero Helix from Milne City-State!”

“Even so, he shouldn’t behave like this. Flying within another city-state is too rude!”

“Maybe there is some urgent matter?”

…

While people were discussing spiritedly, Helix had already rushed to Malgan Norton’s mansion. He rolled and landed on the ground, shouting loudly, “Lord Malgan, I am very sorry, but I have an extremely urgent matter!”

Malgan was in the courtyard lifting a stone block made of baroth stone (an exceptionally heavy stone) to exercise his body. Seeing Helix rushing in, he put down the stone block and walked over slowly.

He was nearly three meters tall, his body a solid slab of muscle. He walked like a prehistoric beast, carrying a unique, imposing momentum, as if an irresistible force was pressing down.

“Helix, what is it that makes you so panicked? This is beneath your dignity. Flying over Norton City can be considered a provocation by anyone!”

Helix bowed slightly to Malgan and said apologetically, “I am very sorry, Lord Malgan. I have no intention of provoking Norton, but the matter is truly too grave. Did you know? Lord Bunian is dead. The Great Divine Artisan of Bakar City-State, Lord Bunian, was killed in his own mansion by the ‘Dark Raven Devil’!”

Malgan’s expression froze upon hearing this. He seemed to find it hard to accept. As a Golden Hero, Malgan had a high opinion of himself. Aside from the Great Divine Artisan Bunian, he didn’t think much of the other Great Heroes of the five Northern City-States.

Malgan seemed to be recalling something. He clenched his fists hard, and his ancient gauntlets creaked. These were wonder weapons forged personally by Bunian for him, capable of permanently increasing his strength by about ten percent.

“The Dark Raven Devil? The Desecrator who killed Karim? Good, very good.”

Malgan suppressed his anger, walked up to Helix step by step, and said slowly through gritted teeth, “I want to know more details.”

While Helix and Malgan were conversing, the shadow Ace had transformed into slowly connected with Malgan’s shadow. He infiltrated Malgan’s shadow bit by bit, brewing magic.

In the Norton Palace, the King had finished his meeting with Ludendorff. He frowned and muttered to himself, “This ‘Dark Raven Devil’ seems even trickier than the ‘Mechanical Sin Fox’ from back then. Desecrators really do emerge one after another in Salia.”

As he spoke, he walked out of the palace.

Helix was recounting the situation of the ‘Dark Raven Devil’ to Malgan with a solemn and serious face.

“He is the Desecrator ranked third on our Salia region’s purification list. He possesses a magical spatial jumping ability. It is unknown why he possesses the ability to tear open spatial barriers, which only Legendary Heroes should have, but this ability makes him extremely difficult to deal with.

“Secondly, he also has…”

Malgan was listening seriously when he was caught off guard by a shadow climbing up his body. Instantly, he was bound by dozens of shadow tentacles. Extreme cold transmitted from the shadow tentacles, instantly freezing him into an ice sculpture.

His eyes widened in disbelief, filled with blazing anger. The entire ice sculpture began to shake violently, as if it could no longer hold him.

Ace didn’t hesitate. He commanded Helix to hug Malgan, then emerged from the shadow. He elegantly took off his hat, his silvery-white hair dazzling in the sunlight, and said softly, “I am the ‘Dark Raven Devil’ you speak of. Feel the wrath and vengeance of the High Tower!”

Ace’s silver hair stood on end. In his Mental Imagery World, the Lake of Mana was consumed immensely. Since Ace had advanced to Golden Wizard, the 4-Ring Spell “Fixed-Time Stagnation” no longer consumed life force but instead consumed a massive amount of Mana.

coupled with the fact that Malgan was the only Golden Hero, Ace didn’t hesitate at all. He directly activated the Golden Spell “Fixed-Time Stagnation,” slowing down the time of both Malgan and Helix.

Ace took a deep breath and adjusted his state. In the Mental Imagery World, Ace’s True Spirit held two Spell Models high: “Unstable Subspace” and “Random Portal.” The two Spell Models shone together. The entire Mental Imagery World distorted, heaven and earth cracked, and the whole world seemed about to be torn apart.

Ace held his hands out flat and used the combo spell “Spatial Banishment” on Malgan. The figures of Malgan and Helix began to distort, and space began to deform. Countless spatial coordinates flashed through Ace’s eyes. He struggled to maintain the spell, striving to banish Malgan to the outer plane.

The King of Norton discovered the abnormal Mana changes and spatial surges at Malgan’s mansion. He gave a loud shout and pulled out a small statue of the God of Strength from his bosom. His body blossomed with pale golden light—a Pseudo-Rank Legendary Hero!
