Chapter 385: I Am a Wizard

Ace sensed the opponents approaching rapidly and displayed the scene within his Mental Imagery World , discussing it with Aleias.

“Lord Ace , these ten Great Heroes are the final trump card of the Northern City-States. If you can defeat them in one fell swoop, you will certainly be able to force them to swear an oath to the Deities!”

Aleias spoke with a face full of optimism. Although the opponents were numerous, no one could seal space, and they certainly hadn’t expected Ace to have fully recovered his state.

Ace’s True Spirit asked, “Why don’t we defeat them, occupy the entire northern city-states, and install puppets?”

Aleias said seriously, “Lord Ace, you must not. Without the authorization of a Deity, we cannot and must not invade a city-state or execute a King. This would incur Divine Punishment; it is the bottom line of the Deities.

“All we can do is use war to promote peace and seek the protection of a Deity. The High Tower Territory has one hundred thousand subjects. It is a thriving city. We can completely use the Status Power of the High Tower Territory to strive for the protection of a Demigod or even a Deity!”

Ace’s True Spirit asked with interest, “Where did you learn these secrets?”

Aleias said with reverence, “This is from the records of the ‘Son of the Artisan’. He was not only the founder of Bakar City, but he also achieved the status of Demigod. I heard he established a new city-state in the west of the New Continent.

“I was fortunate enough to see a few fragments of his diary. As long as we find a Demigod and are willing to support their blood descendant as King to rule the High Tower Territory jointly, we will likely obtain legal status.”

Ace’s True Spirit spoke no more. Aleias would not deceive him. Although he couldn’t believe it entirely, he couldn’t risk Divine Punishment to invade the city-states either.

Looking at the silent Ace’s True Spirit , Aleias said:

“Lord Ace , any King capable of mobilizing Status Power is qualified to swear an oath witnessed by the Deities. Once the oath is sworn, there is no room for remorse, and our goal will be achieved.”

She took out Bunian’s dagger and continued, “This dagger should be forged in imitation of the ‘Heart-Stealing Blade’. As long as it is within three meters, it can instantly destroy the heart of the locked-on target.”

Ace’s True Spirit played with the dagger in his hand, and the plan in his heart gradually became definite.

Nicholas followed the ten Great Heroes from a distance. He tracked the Divine Descendants relying on the ultra-long visual range of his mecha. In fact, he dared not get too close. His purpose was to save people, preferably by sneak-attacking and killing a Great Hero, but he couldn’t sacrifice himself in the process.

Ace opened his tightly closed eyes. The Great Heroes were getting closer. He waited no longer. Multitasking, he held the spells “Fixed-Time Stagnation” and “Frost Seal” in readiness, waiting for the enemy’s arrival.

“My spell coverage range is limited. I can’t control all the Great Heroes simultaneously; I must stall them.”

The Mental Imagery World manifested behind Ace. An ancient battlefield, seemingly existing since time immemorial, appeared. Negative Energy lingered and gathered here. Gloomy white bones emitted a pale, eerie light. Rusted weapons lay like sleeping beasts, seemingly ready to spring up and devour people at any moment.

Ace flew forward without hesitation, getting closer and closer to the Great Heroes.

Ludendorff exclaimed, “The ‘Dark Raven Devil’ seems to have spotted us. Instead of fleeing, he’s charging at us. Everyone, be careful.”

The descendant of the God of Combat , the Great Hero Croft, grinned hideously and said, “Then it’s just right for us to have a good fight with him!”

While they were speaking, Ace had already appeared before their eyes. Without any hesitation, the Mental Imagery Dream World covered this space, turning it into a gloomy and terrifying ancient battlefield.

Countless Undead crawled up from the battlefield. Holding weapons and riding bone horses, they charged toward the Great Heroes like a flood of white bones.

The Negative Energy brought great discomfort to the Great Heroes. The momentum of the white bone flood also scattered them instantly.

But they soon discovered that the combat power of these white bones was not strong. Croft initially dealt with the white bone Undead cautiously, only to find that these Undead were easily shattered.

He hesitated and tried multiple times, finally confirming that these bones didn’t have much combat power. He let out a roar, and a powerful shockwave instantly cleared the white bone Undead around him.

Ace could have increased the strength of the white bone Undead , even creating one or two white bone Undead with strength comparable to a Great Hero, but the consumption was too great and held no practical significance. All he wanted was to stall for time.

Ace pondered in his heart. He needed to let the Kings survive to swear an oath with him. The best way was to kill or drive away the other Great Heroes.

Just as Ace was thinking, the gloomy ancient battlefield suddenly became as bright as day. The flames of the Jim Brothers connected, raising a giant fireball like a blazing sun high above and throwing it into the pile of Undead.

“You’re the ones.”

Ace made up his mind. He instantly activated the Golden Spell “Time Stagnation” on the three brothers. Their time slowed down abruptly, and immediately after, they were entangled by tentacles formed of Negative Energy.

Ace did not hesitate. He instantly opened a Portal, and the Four-Element Pulferizing Disc protruded from his hand. The time stagnation was lifted. Before the three could react, their heads were ground off by the spell.

Negative Energy entangled the corpses of the three, pulling their headless bodies and souls into the ancient battlefield. Terrifying energy seemed to be surging and transforming them.

Ace paid no attention to the ancient battlefield’s transformation of the three dead Great Heroes. He stood with his hands behind his back, runes flickering in his eyes, seemingly looking for the next target.

The instant death of three Great Heroes caused the other Great Heroes to turn pale with fright. They shouted to each other, trying hard to gather together. Croft, enjoying mowing down the grass-like enemies, did not hear the others’ shouts.

Croft felt his hair stand on end. He turned his head slowly, meeting Ace’s cold and dazzling gaze. With just one contact, he felt a tremor—it was profound fear. The opponent was like a supreme Deity, leaving him unable to muster a single thought of resistance.

A trace of contempt appeared at the corner of Ace’s mouth. He had merely used the Fear Demon Eye, a fusion of Fear and Supremacy, and it had scared the opponent out of his wits. Ace did not hesitate. With one stride, the Portal opened. A gentle push of the Four-Element PulveiIng Disc pierced Croft’s heart.

Negative Energy tentacles extended from the ancient battlefield, pulling Croft’s corpse and soul into the endless sea of Negative Energy, transforming him.

Ace slowly hovered in the air. He took off his top hat, his long silver hair flowing in the wind. His cold voice spread to every corner of the battlefield.

“Good evening, everyone. You all call me the Dark Raven Devil, but today I want to formally introduce myself. I am a Wizard, a Supernatural being born from mortals!”

The six survivors present were bewildered and uncertain. Thoughts of retreat had already sprouted in their minds. The Kings felt regret in their hearts; had they known the opponent was so powerful, they should have honestly stayed in their own city-states. With the help of their Status Power, the opponent could never have killed them no matter what.

Nicholas had just arrived nearby. Just as he was astonished by the ominous and eerie ancient battlefield, Ace’s voice rang in his ears.
