Chapter 387: Meeting

That condensed, pitch-black lustrous elemental sphere seemed somewhat unstable. Ace’s Eye of Truth (Pseudo) could see the terrifying energy contained within it.

There was less than one-tenth of the brilliant Star Mana left in his Lake of Mana. After more than a minute of channeling, this spell was finally completed.

“It’s not quite perfect. Let’s call it the Unstable Elemental Annihilation Sphere.

“Perhaps if I advance the spell to the 4-Ring level, I can achieve a perfect spell effect. I have to maintain this sphere personally and push it into the opponent’s body with my own hands.”

Ace did not open a Portal, because once this unstable annihilation sphere underwent a spatial leap, it would inevitably cause an astonishing explosion.

This Elemental Annihilation Sphere contained amazing power, but it was essentially still a semi-finished product. It couldn’t be projected and could only be balanced as much as possible using Mental Power.

Ace walked slowly toward the “Monument” as if holding a work of art. The runes in his eyes were dazzling, and the truth-breaking rune structure rotated rapidly to analyze, quickly determining the location of what he wanted.

That heart—the crystal-clear heart that converged all the Golden Runes—was what Ace wanted. Apart from that, everything else was useless.

Ace held the “Unstable Elemental Annihilation Sphere” high in his right hand and extended his left hand forward. At extremely close range, he activated the spell Portal, targeting the position of the opponent’s heart.

Undoubtedly, this was very difficult. The opponent’s heart was the core, dense with energy, making it extremely difficult to open a Portal there.

If the opponent hadn’t been controlled by “Time Stagnation,” Ace’s Portal would have either been easily dodged or failed to open.

But now, the Portal opened successfully!

Thump, thump, thump!

Strong heartbeats. Ace’s left hand caressed this heart. Glazed Heart Fire burned at his fingertips. Below Level 3, nothing could withstand its burning; even Level 3 materials could be slowly calcined by time.

The frozen “Monument” struggled violently. The effect of “Time Stagnation” was about to be broken. Ace hesitated no longer and pulled hard, dragging that beating heart out.

The Unstable Elemental Annihilation Sphere held high in his right hand landed gently on top of the “Monument’s” head. A Portal opened, and Ace instantly shifted to a location 1 km away.

He didn’t wait and continued to flash. After three consecutive flashes, he stopped in mid-air. He froze the heart he had just obtained and threw it into his Mental Imagery World, then withdrew the manifestation of the Mental Imagery World, causing the ancient battlefield to vanish.

Boom!

A terrifying mushroom cloud rose into the sky. The ultra-high temperature turned the “Monument,” which had lost its heart, into gas without any resistance. Although the five Kings near the center of the explosion tried their best to support themselves, their shields were not the “City of Protection” after all. They were swept by the violent shockwave and heatwave, leaving them critically injured and dying.

After being awed by Ace, Nicholas had just broken free from the state of awe when he noticed Ace flashing away from the ancient battlefield.

Although he didn’t figure out the situation, Nicholas’s years of combat instinct made him immediately manipulate his mecha to eject and fly in the opposite direction of the ancient battlefield.

Before he had flown even 500m away, the violent shockwave and heatwave rushed toward Nicholas layer by layer. Fortunately, he activated his protective shield in time and wasn’t at the epicenter of the explosion. He stabilized himself after suffering some damage.

Nicholas stood up somewhat tremblingly; his mechanical legs were actually shaking a bit. When he saw the scene, his pupils shrank.

The ancient battlefield had disappeared, but the mountains that once existed in the Larr Mountains had also vanished. There was only a charred deep pit. The original appearance of the center could no longer be discerned; only vitrified liquid substances remained.

The heatwave and shockwave had plowed the surroundings flat. The landscape, resembling the aftermath of a fallen star, made everyone’s heart palpitate.

Inside Ace’s Mental Imagery World, the Lake of Mana had bottomed out. Only a shallow layer of Star Mana remained at the bottom, reflecting the sky full of stars.

Although his Mana was nearly depleted, Ace’s imposing manner remained ample. His Blood Qi churned throughout his body. Even without magic, he himself was still a powerful Golden Life!

An aura of fear and self-supremacy permeated the air. Ludendorff, Yves, and the others couldn’t even move. Looking at Ace suspended in the sky, they felt as if they were seeing a Demon Archon from hell, feeling that their lives had reached the end.

“Perhaps, we can still negotiate with him. I don’t want to die.”

Facing death, Yves wept bitterly. He struggled desperately, prostrating on the ground, hoping to gain a shred of Ace’s mercy.

“Coward! If a man dies, he dies. How can you make such a gesture? I am ashamed to be associated with you.”

The King of Norton’s voice was like a thunderclap. He tremblingly took out the golden statue of the God of Strength from his bosom, wanting to make a final struggle.

Ludendorff looked regretful. It was he who had strongly advocated gathering all forces to completely eliminate Ace, and it was he who found Ace’s location. If he could do it all over again, he would absolutely hole up in his City-State and not come out.

Ace didn’t speak. He walked down from the sky step by step. Each step carried terrifying majesty and fear, beating in everyone’s heart like a drum.

When the enemy was already terrified, this power of deterrence was sometimes more powerful than magic with direct lethality.

Step by step, time passed so slowly. Ace finally reached the flat ground. He took a step forward and arrived in front of the five.

Ludendorff swallowed hard and said in a low voice, “Respected Wizard, I think we have a misunderstanding. We can discuss this.”

Ace’s eyes were cold as he spoke slowly in an emotionless voice: “Misunderstanding? Does a misunderstanding allow you to wantonly slaughter Wizards and wantonly oppress ordinary people researching the supernatural? Then how do you propose to eliminate this misunderstanding?”

The King of Norton raised the statue high, suddenly springing up to make a last-ditch effort, but was awed by Ace’s majestic Blood Qi. Glazed Heart Fire burned Ace’s Blood Qi, surging out and burning the King of Norton’s hands to ashes.

The golden statue of the God of Strength fell to the ground with a clang. Ace cautiously did not touch the statue. He said softly, “There is another friend. Having watched for so long, shouldn’t you come out?”

The voice reached Nicholas’s ears like thunder. Nicholas trembled all over and walked out mechanically and stiffly.

Nicholas tried hard to adjust his expression. He took a deep breath, and actually instantly put on a proper smile. Walking naturally to Ace, he said sincerely:

“I am Nicholas, thirteenth on the Salia purification list, called the ‘Mechanical Sin Fox’ by the Divine Descendants. I discovered their tracks and wanted to wait for an opportunity to sabotage them and see if I could help you. I didn’t expect you to be so brave and powerful, so I didn’t dare to intervene. I hope you will forgive me.”

Ace turned his head. He hadn’t expected to see Nicholas here, nor did he expect Nicholas to look like this—a mechanical body, seemingly having lost his original human form for the sake of power.

Thinking of this, Ace’s memory seemed to return to the time when he first read Nicholas’s diary. His eyes softened slightly, carrying a trace of nostalgia.
