Chapter 483: Caws
Luther kept his eyes tightly shut. With such calculation power, he was confident he could directly construct the spell he had imagined.
Mana surged violently as runes appeared and vanished beside Luther. Allen remarked casually, “Luther really knows how to seize an opportunity, jumping straight into deducing a 2-Ring Spell.”
The chubby Bruce waved his hand, saying generously, “Since he’s going to be acting with us anyway, consider this his advance payment.”
Inside Luther’s Soul Sanctuary, a unique spell model was slowly being constructed. It resembled phantom images of countless weapons, but just as it was about to be born, Luther scrapped it.
His Attribute Panel had opened, silently connecting to the Dream Forum, manifesting phantom images and descriptions of various natal artifacts deduced by Official Wizards.
Countless numbers seemed to tumble and flash in his eyes as he muttered, “Simulate, simulate. Universal Rune as the core!”
Mana gathered in a spiral like waves. Luther was the eye of that mana sea. He devoured the mana like a whale, his mind racing as the spell model took shape rapidly.
Hundreds of phantom images of magic crystal tools appeared behind Luther, causing Allen and the others to turn serious.
Eva looked grave, her eyes gleaming as she activated the 2-Ring Spell “Eye of Discernment.” Allen and Bruce also activated their respective sensory spells to observe the miraculous spell Luther was constructing.
The phantom images of the natal artifacts solidified bit by bit. One, two, three… a total of seven natal artifact phantoms completely solidified. Luther stood up, panting heavily.
The seven natal artifacts behind him flew out instantly, clashing in the air with a cacophony. Two of the tools collided, causing a violent explosion that instantly destroyed most of the Difference Engine.
The Difference Engine was scrapped, and Luther was instantly forced out of synchronization, rolling on the ground while clutching his head.
Allen looked at Luther with a mix of annoyance and amusement. He called out his panel and, with a pinch of heartache, tapped the Dream Space Reset button. As his fantasy points rapidly decreased, the Difference Engine was instantly restored.
He walked over to Luther, bent down, and said with suppressed anger, “Luther, you completely wrecked my Difference Engine. Resetting the space costs fantasy points. What do you intend to do?”
Luther’s headache gradually eased. His mana was exhausted, and he suffered from spiritual backlash. After meditating for a while to recover, he said, “I’m very sorry, Allen. I will compensate you for your loss.”
In the end, with a face full of frustration and pain, Luther transferred nearly a year’s worth of accumulated fantasy points to Allen, covering the loss.
“Alright, setting that aside, I’m more interested in the 2-Ring Spell you just created. Can you introduce it? It’s an extremely powerful 2-Ring Spell. I predict that if you sell the reproduction rights on the Dream Forum, you’ll quickly earn a large sum of fantasy points.”
Eva also researched magic crystal shaping, but this series seemed to lose its luster after the Official Wizard level; even the founder, Daina, had switched to studying lightning and advanced to Level 2 based on that.
Luther said frankly, “I want to keep the specific composition of the spell to myself, or at most spread it within a small circle. I don’t want to share it on the forum for now. However, I can discuss the concept with you. If you are willing to sign an Oath Scroll, I can even share it with you conditionally.”
Everyone nodded in understanding. Bruce was a bit impatient: “You can discuss the specific details separately later. Let’s talk business first. The vampires have risen rapidly in recent years and have become a force to be reckoned with in the Delat Kingdom. This time, they even dared to ambush an Official Wizard. We must take action.”
Allen frowned, his voice betraying his worry: “We can’t just let it slide without retaliation. But if we do retaliate, we will inevitably come into conflict with the ‘Golden Wizards’ Polina and Caroso in the dream world.”
Eva nodded as well:
“That’s true. Polina and Caroso are 3-Ring Wizards in reality, and ‘Golden Wizards’ in the dream. The Bloodline Wizard School they founded is a specialized branch of Supernatural Transformation and has a large number of supporters. This school has strong adaptability and combat power; it cannot be ignored.”
Bruce pinched the bridge of his chubby nose, feeling a splitting headache. “We definitely can’t just let it go. If we do, anyone will think they can walk all over us.
“But the rapid expansion of the vampire forces has a lot to do with the indulgence of the two founders. Vampires are their best experimental subjects; their bloodline modification experiments are conducted directly on vampires.”
Luther looked at the group and asked in confusion, “We just want to strike at a Blood Kin named Elena, right? Why do we have to oppose the entire Bloodline Wizard School? If we are really afraid of offending the two ‘Golden Wizards,’ we can visit them and inform them to show our sincerity.”
Bruce and the others looked at each other. The chubby Bruce slapped his thigh with his large hand: “We really made a simple problem too complicated. We can just go see the two ‘Golden Wizards’ directly; it won’t be too late to act after that.”
Eva nodded in agreement: “Exactly. No matter how real ‘Fantasia’ is, it is just a dream. We, Polina, and Caroso are all High Tower Wizards. We don’t need to have so many scruples. It might be better to approach them directly.”
They quickly reached a consensus. Bruce would personally visit Caroso Manor in the suburbs of the City of True Knowledge.
That afternoon, Bruce arrived at the manor to meet Caroso.
The entire manor was somewhat gloomy, with the caws of crows everywhere. Bruce explained his purpose to the guard and showed the magic badge on his chest.
After a long while, a wizard apprentice walked out, bowed slightly to him, and led him into the manor.
Caroso’s figure remained thin. Although he usually had no interaction with Bruce, Bruce was, after all, a 2-Ring Wizard in reality, so it wouldn’t be appropriate to refuse him.
After simple pleasantries, Bruce said with a humble attitude, “Lord Caroso, I apologize for disturbing you. I have something to discuss with you. I am ashamed to say that I was ambushed by the Blood Kin Baroness Elena and her men, and I almost died in northern Delat.
“I must take revenge on Elena and the relevant personnel, but I have no intention of opposing you or the entire Bloodline Wizard School.”
Caroso pondered slightly. He knew of Elena. After Polina went to guide the Blood Kin and used different bloodlines to develop their potential, this woman quickly stood out.
There were thirteen Blood Kin in the entire “Fantasia” world who had reached the strength of a Baron, which meant Level 1 Life, and one Blood Kin Count who had reached Level 2.
That Count was of great importance. As long as it wasn’t the Count, the other Blood Kin were not a major issue.
“What you say is reasonable. Our Bloodline Wizard School must also be reasonable. Because the Blood Kin are under our protection, we Bloodline Wizards will not actively hand them over. You can carry out the operation yourself and hunt down the three who ambushed you.
“I will sign a contract with you under the witness of the God of Dreams that I will not obstruct you.”
Bruce left Caroso Manor with satisfaction. He couldn’t wait to see the look of despair on Elena’s face.
