Chapter 495: Borrowing

Flipping over the ellipsoidal crystal wall of the Kaya World, what appeared before his eyes was not the empty and desolate Astral Void, but an incredibly huge, pale green sphere with a dim color.

Calling it a sphere wasn’t quite right.

This was half a sphere. It seemed to have been split open from the middle by some mighty force. Only half of the World Crystal Wall remained, and the matter inside the world flowed wantonly like a broken eggshell.

Ace looked at this strange scene, landing slowly on the crystal wall, shocked beyond words.

Inside that half-world, there seemed to be a towering tree. Perhaps it once truly stood upright between heaven and earth, but now its crown had been shorn off, leaving only half of the trunk and the hardened roots.

Ace lay on the World Crystal Wall, murmuring: “This is simply a tree supporting a world. It can be called the Giant Tree World.

“In my perception, the complete Giant Tree World should be stronger than the Kaya World. I just don’t know what kind of mighty force could split a world more glorious than the Kaya World in half from the middle.”

At this moment, Ace truly felt the terror of the Astral Plane. Perhaps the so-called Astral Predators and Astral Storms were not as terrifying as this mighty force.

White light bloomed in his eyes. He looked closely and saw countless tiny, shining stars lying between the Kaya World and the Hemispherical Giant Tree World.

Ace observed carefully and gradually discovered that those were sub-planes and semi-planes. He could faintly see the figures of Deities flashing past.

And similar things descended from the opposite world, lush and green, seeming to confront the Kaya Deities.

Ace didn’t even dare to speak. He felt as if he had discovered the huge secret of this world. The Kaya Deities had already made contact with the “Deities” or similar existences of another world, but he didn’t know if it was a blessing or a curse.

A thought emerged in his mind: Could the continuous iteration of civilizations and the birth of a large number of Demi-gods and Deities all be for this protracted war?

The Inner World was so calm, and the Deities looked peaceful. Who exactly went to the battlefield in the Astral Void to fight or negotiate with the “Deities” of the other world?

At this moment, Ace finally saw the reality of this world. The Kaya World was not as stable and peaceful as it appeared. Besides the demons and devils inside, there were such strong enemies outside.

Ace’s mental imagery world began to manifest. Precise parts were generated out of nothing, and magic lenses appeared one by one. In less than a minute, an extremely precise Magic Mechanical Telescope was formed.

Accompanied by the rhythm of dream bubbles, that extremely exquisite and precisely constructed Magic Mechanical Telescope fell into Ace’s hands. He carefully adjusted the telescope, observing seriously the sub-planes and semi-planes like pearls and jade stars between the two worlds.

There seemed to be a sub-plane in a leading position, leading the group of sub-planes and semi-planes moving slowly like clouds in this Astral Void. There seemed to be some small light spots rushing out from the sub-planes and semi-planes.

Ace’s vision was blurry, but he could faintly judge through the Magic Telescope that each of those small light spots was an existence above the Legendary level.

The opposite world had plane-like existences resembling lush green leaves, confronting the Kaya Deities. The situation seemed extremely dangerous, but both sides seemed very restrained, as if wanting to communicate.

“A brand new era. An era fraught with crises, where opportunities and dangers coexist, is coming.”

Ace murmured. There was a haze in his heart. Perhaps the time for peaceful development was not as much as he imagined. Seeing that the two sides seemed to talk for a while and then engaged in combat, Ace’s heart shivered.

“In such a situation, a terrifying life-and-death war between worlds might occur. It is extremely unsettling. It is not safe here either. I cannot stand under a dangerous wall; I’ll return to the Outer World first.”

Thinking while moving, Ace turned into a stream of light, found a groove on the World Crystal Wall, and drilled in.

At the same time, among the group of planes, a Deity in the form of a lion seemed to look back, sensing something.

Another female Deity saw this and asked: “Holiness Tugan, what’s wrong?”

The lion-shaped Deity Tugan hummed: “I seemed to see a light flashing on the crystal wall, then disappearing.”

The female Deity frowned slightly and said: “Could it be a living being from the Other World? I don’t know why His Majesty the God King doesn’t seal the World Crystal Wall. If this goes on, spies from the Other World will inevitably infiltrate.”

Tugan shook his lion head, his mane trembling slightly:

“How can we know the thoughts of His Majesty the God King? But for existences below the level of Deity from the opposing world, even if they enter, they can’t cause much trouble.

“As for existences above Deity level entering, losing the protection of the Great Source of the Other World, their strength will decrease significantly.

“Our world is one of the few worlds possessing an inner side. The great God King has already sealed the Inner World, allowing at most Demigods to enter. With strict control on the outside and looseness on the inside, it would be extremely difficult for the opponent to cause destruction.”

The female Deity nodded: “At the beginning of the previous civilization era, we observed the Other World falling from the upper layer. After such a long time, the Other World finally reached us.

“I just don’t know what kind of great existence could tear a world of a higher level than ours into two pieces, leaving only half a world to fall. The Other World probably won’t last long either.”

The lion Deity Tugan replied: “Since the opponent’s world cannot last long, they must want to seek life in death. The astral void is like a sea, and the world is like a boat. If our boat is sinking and another boat comes from the opposite side, what should we do? Prepare yourself; this is likely a protracted war that will not cease until death.”

…

Traversing along the long and narrow spatial tunnel for an unknown amount of time, Ace finally reappeared in the Sea of Reality and Illusion. He was somewhat shaken.

Always eager to explore the unknown of the astral void, he never expected to see such a scene. Ace turned into a stream of light and instantly returned to the Inner World, Thoth City-State, West Tower.

As soon as he arrived here, Ace keenly discovered that the authority of the entire city-state was being sucked by the Temple, seemingly nurturing something. There was almost no doubt that Demigod Thoth’s true body must have descended to the Temple.

“You’re back, Ace.”

A gentle young male voice suddenly sounded behind him. He had approached him silently, and inside the West Tower at that. This made Ace’s hair stand on end. Thirteen Star Noble Phantasms manifested instantly, shrouding himself and the person behind him.

Looking back, the white light of the “Eye of True Knowledge” shone, only to find that the person was Thoth’s clone, Hook Thoth.

Ace hurriedly put away the thirteen Star Noble Phantasms, slowly merging them into his own mental imagery world, and bowed to Thoth: “So it is Your Holiness who has arrived. My reaction was overly cautious; I am very sorry.”

Thoth’s clone waved his hand and said indifferently: “It’s nothing. I have something to discuss with you. I want to borrow something from you.”
