Chapter 535: Fighting the Air

Ace cautiously applied several layers of concealment spells upon himself, sneaking into the Celestial Realm with minimal disturbance. Seeing that there was no situation of a group of angels aggressively surrounding him to watch, he felt slightly relieved.

It wasn’t that Ace was overly cautious. Although he had advanced to a Demigod, he was not the strongest Demigod after all. He was merely an ordinary Demigod who had completed the sanctification of his soul and body, clearly understood his True Spirit, and fused his body and soul into one.

Without the substantialization of his mental imagery world and the ability to project a demi-plane, if it weren’t for the assembled Demigod Artifact, Ace wouldn’t have dared to come to the Celestial Realm at all. To say that a fierce Demigod like the Holy Light, which could kill a Creator God, had no real ability—Ace wouldn’t believe it.

Of course, this Holy Light seemed to have been schemed against by the Angel King. Could it be that its brain didn’t work very well? Maybe it could be outsmarted?

Letting his imagination run wild, Ace carefully transformed himself into the appearance of an angel. He even used the mimicked Virtue Holy Light to simulate the Holy Light shrouding himself. Looking from afar, it was no different from the real Holy Light. He flapped his wings and fluttered towards Mount Celestia.

Mount Celestia was still holy, shrouded in milky white halos. The souls of some believers here had transformed into Petitioners. These devout believers were still praying. Life on Mount Celestia was very leisurely. Some rivers flowed with milk, some with red wine; the trees bore soft white bread, and the leaves were smooth butter.

Between the rivers were lush green grasslands. There were a large number of docile pigs, horses, cattle, and sheep here. All believers who transformed into Petitioners could enjoy nearly two hundred years of life here without worrying about food, clothing, shelter, or use. For many people, this was indeed heaven.

As for two hundred years later, the Petitioners would completely merge with Mount Celestia, becoming a part of the milky white Holy Light.

Ace flapped his wings and flew over. Suddenly hearing the Petitioners on the ground cheering, he slowly descended.

“It’s an angel, it’s an angel!”

“Haven’t seen Lord Angel for a long time. I told you the angels were just busy.”

“I’ve been feeling uneasy recently; seeing Lord Angel makes me feel much better.”

Hearing their chattering, which felt very close, Ace asked: “I am an angel who just returned from executing a task in the lower realm. Tell me one by one.”

Hearing that Ace didn’t come down from Mount Celestia, the Petitioners panicked a bit again. Several of them opened their mouths at once, buzzing with talk. Having no choice, Ace picked an old man and told him to speak alone.

At first glance, the old man looked old, but upon closer inspection, he had white hair and a youthful complexion, with a sturdy body. He said in a resonant voice: “Lord Angel, we haven’t seen an angel for several years. We don’t know since when, but most of the angels went to the lower realm, and finally, only one streak of light came back.

“About half a year after that, all the angels disappeared overnight. We are just ordinary believers and cannot approach Mount Celestia. Although we are very worried, there is nothing we can do.”

Another woman also said: “Moreover, the water levels of the milk river and wine river near Mount Celestia have obviously dropped recently. No angels have come to bestow new cattle and sheep either, and the bread on the bread trees is growing slower and slower.”

Ace understood their meaning. They were worried that a major incident had occurred, and even more worried that their beautiful life would be gone forever.

All the believers who came to Mount Celestia could be said to be true believers of the Holy Light. They were all worried. It seemed this had been going on for a long time. Ace wandered around a few more times and finally confirmed that no angels had appeared for nearly ten years. He frowned and muttered to himself: “Could something really have gone wrong with the Holy Light? Or is there another conspiracy?”

Maybe it went to request reinforcements from other worlds? It couldn’t possibly just leave directly, right?

Ace didn’t quite believe that a Demigod who dared to invade a world and succeeded would leave so easily. This was an opportunity to control a world. Although it was only a Level 2 World, this meant a massive amount of resources.

He considered it very carefully for a while, and finally gritted his teeth, saying: “No matter what your conspiracy is, if you really are here, you will definitely have to come out when Mount Celestia falls.”

Ace no longer maintained his disguise. He morphed back into his original image: a black wizard hat, a black magic robe, and a Seven-Ring Hexagram Badge on his chest.

The thirteen Star Noble Phantasms appeared sequentially behind him. Holding the Gravitational Torsion Balance high in his hand, he pondered for a moment and decided to hold back a little, not using his full strength first. One Star Noble Phantasm behind him was pulled forward, instantly becoming gigantic, blooming with dazzling brilliance like a scorching sun, rushing straight at Mount Celestia.

“Noble Phantasm – Spell: Blazing Sun!”

That Star Noble Phantasm fell like a blazing sun, crashing directly from the sky onto Mount Celestia. With a loud boom, Mount Celestia actually shattered directly, collapsing with a crash. Flames burned violently, almost incinerating everything.

Ace was somewhat dumbfounded. He had thought of many possibilities, but no matter what, he didn’t expect it to be like this.

The Eye of Truth had long been activated. Ace’s eyes shot out sharp glints. He didn’t find any high-energy reactions within that sea of fire. There seemed to be no one there.

Still somewhat worried, he made the remaining twelve Star Noble Phantasms enlarge sequentially, falling like a string of blazing suns, smashing the location of Mount Celestia to pieces. It wasn’t until this moment that Ace faintly believed that perhaps the Holy Light really wasn’t in this world anymore.

He carefully inspected the place and finally confirmed that both the Holy Light and the angels had disappeared. For so long, he had been battling wits and courage with the air. For a time, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Hovering blankly in mid-air, looking at the Petitioners below wailing and running wildly, it actually felt a bit comical.

Settling his mind, Ace whispered: “What is certain now is that the Holy Light has really left, but I can’t be sure if It will come back, so I can’t let my guard down. But no matter what, since It left, no one in this world can compete with me. I am the true King of the World.”

Boom!

A thunderclap sounded. Thick clouds suddenly gathered in the Celestial Realm, and torrential rain poured down, quickly extinguishing the sea of fire. The Great Source was rejoicing, seemingly celebrating the victory of the person It had chosen.

Ace shattered Mount Celestia and completely disintegrated the rule of the Holy Light here. The Great Source and Ace took over the place simultaneously. The control of the world returned to the hands of the Great Source, and according to the agreement between the two, Ace, as the King of the World, automatically obtained proxy rights.

“Although it’s only the proxy power of the world, it’s enough.”

Ace pointed his hand downwards. The core of the Magic Net in the Underworld disappeared directly and appeared in Ace’s hand. He held this net high to the sky. The crystal core in the middle rapidly expanded invisible threads. After a full day passed, the Magic Net had already densely covered the entire Celestial Realm under Ace’s forced maturation.

As for those Petitioners, Ace returned their souls to the origin, and their True Spirits were thrown into the Underworld. After the River Styx washed away their Holy Light marks, they re-entered the cycle of the world.

On the former site of Mount Celestia, Ace constructed a brand new city as his own city. This place was full of dreamlike colors.

“This will be the new Celestial Realm, my Celestial Realm. It should be the Nation of Wizards. Any native wizard, as long as they advance to a Level 1 Wizard, can ascend to this realm. Since it is a place of ascension, naturally it should be different.”

Ace mobilized his God King Authority, coordinating with the Magic Net, to redistribute the mana of the entire world.

“From now on, the mana in the Human World begins to thin. Any spellcaster who doesn’t rely on the Magic Net will find it very difficult to effectively mobilize and obtain mana. The mana in the Underworld will also become thin. All mana will be concentrated in the Celestial Realm. If the world’s mana is ten, then the Celestial Realm shall have nine, while the Human World and the Underworld share one.

“Of course, I cannot rush this right now. I will proceed slowly, exactly coordinating with my fate act.”

Ace strolled into his palace and lay on the high divine throne. Since the Holy Light had left, this world could only be dictated by him.

This feeling made Ace very happy. Although all his power hit nothing but air, completely taking control of the world meant all resources were open to him. As long as he completed this act, he could forge his new mythology!

…

Augustus walked all the way deep into the mist. He experienced numerous hardships and temptations, survived the twenty-one trials, and finally arrived at the gate of the Underworld.

It was an old bronze gate, covered in rust, seemingly accompanied by gusts of gloomy wind. Augustus was bare-chested, his body adorned with many magical patterns—these were obtained after each of his trials. Just as he was about to push the door open, Bayen suddenly flashed and appeared.

He held a crystal ball high, his eyes glowing with white light, seemingly having fallen into some magical state.

Having experienced the twenty-one trials, Augustus was very vigilant against Bayen’s abrupt appearance. He assumed a defensive posture and shouted: “Who cut off your beard in your dream?”

Bayen did not answer. That crystal ball suddenly emitted a brilliant light, and an ethereal voice came out: “Open the gate of life and death, wash in the water of Styx, climb to the top of Mount Oblivion, divine grace walks with you.”

Just as Augustus was about to speak again, Bayen suddenly turned into a bubble and disappeared without a trace.

This made Augustus alarmed and doubtful. He shouted for his teacher several times, but no one came out. He finally decided to push open the gate of the Underworld first and walked in.

Pushing with all his might, he only managed to push open a crack wide enough for one person and had to squeeze in carefully. Suddenly, he felt a chill over his body, and his whole body felt somewhat weightless, actually floating up.

Augustus looked back. Inside the door crack, there was another himself, about to enter but not having entered yet. Just then, Bayen’s voice suddenly came to his ear: “Your Majesty, living people cannot enter the Underworld; only souls can enter. My beard was cut off by another me. Your soul must swim across the River Styx, wash yourself, and climb Mount Oblivion early this morning. There is not much time left, remember to be quick!”

…

Bernada, Imperial Palace.

Bayen abruptly opened his eyes. Yamila, Betty, and the others all surrounded him. He whispered: “I have already seen His Majesty. He has gone to retrieve the sacred relic left for him by God. The Undead Scourge has descended. Your Majesty Yamila, we can only defend this city and quietly await His Majesty’s return.”

Zooming out the view, the entire city was already on high alert. The giant city walls, tens of meters high, were heavily guarded. A transparent hemispherical spatial barrier staunchly guarded this place. Outside of that, it had already become a living hell on earth.

Countless undead ran wildly unconsciously, attacking all living beings they discovered.

Ace in Heaven watched all this quietly. The mythology of this world must be restarted. Whether it was the Blue Bloods or the Holy Light, both had severely polluted the quality of the population, which was also not conducive to wizards completely ruling and transforming this world.

This moment was the second act of civilization’s rebirth from the ashes.

Ace’s heart was as firm as a rock, resolutely pushing forward the reform. Since he wanted to control the world, he couldn’t afford to be soft-hearted. The people he pitied and guarded were all already in Bernada. As for the other natives, Ace could only say that the general trend dictated it.

The Lich King Witte rode the bone wyvern, looking at the endless undead corpses, feeling somewhat emotional in his heart. It wasn’t the time for the finale yet, so he couldn’t attack Bernada either. Bored out of his mind, he gathered a large number of skeletons together and arranged them into a queue-type “computer” according to computer rules.

“It’s a pity that Fantasia’s dream space cannot be carried around. If I could link to the dream space, I could go directly there to experiment.”

Witte really missed “Fantasia.” The panels provided by the Dream God there were much more complex and powerful than the current ones, and there was also the magical dream space where almost all experimental data resided. To some extent, “Fantasia” was the database for almost all wizards.

Augustus’s adventure continued. He was not strong in his soul state. After dangerously dodging the attacks of monsters in the River Styx, relying on the protection of the twenty-one trials, he finally arrived at the top of Mount Oblivion.

A primitive spindle was floating there. Augustus grasped the spindle tightly and instantly felt countless people talking, as if seeing countless threads and countless images. For a time, he had a splitting headache and fainted.

When he woke up again, he saw a blurry figure gently stroking the top of his head, faintly hearing: “My son, I shall grant you the power to defeat evil. Take the Spindle of Fate, it will help you achieve victory. Remember, when you wake up and leave the Underworld, do not look back, do not look back!”

Huff, huff. Augustus abruptly opened his eyes and sat up. He was lying right by the River Styx, with Mount Oblivion not far away.

“So it was a dream!”

He raised his hand but found he was gripping a spindle. Recalling the words he heard, his face instantly changed drastically. He turned around and ran. A flurry of footsteps sounded behind him, getting more and more urgent. Augustus broke into a cold sweat on his back but didn’t dare to look back, focusing his mind solely on running forward.

He felt as if something was grabbing his feet from below, but he ignored it. After forcefully breaking free, he continued to escape. Just then, he suddenly heard the voice of his attendant Taron, seeming to call loudly for help from behind. Augustus ignored it and continued running.

He gradually approached the Gate of Life and Death and saw his own body. He had heard countless voices along the way, none of which shook his determination. But right at this moment, he heard his mother’s low sobbing. Driven by some inexplicable impulse, he turned his head, and it actually was his mother.

At this moment, he forgot the warning in the dream and walked up to her.

Just then, he suddenly felt his feet root to the ground, unable to walk anymore. “Mother” also stood up, her entire body rotting, directly pounced on him, pinned him to the ground, and began gnawing on him.

Augustus struggled with all his might but couldn’t break free. More and more rotting corpses approached. His vision gradually went dark, and he lost consciousness.

“Ah!”

He woke up again but found himself standing in the crack of the Underworld gate. In front of him, a group of rotting corpses were gathered together gnawing, while he held a primitive spindle in his hand. Augustus took a step back, and the gate creaked shut. However, the loud gnawing sounds coming from inside made one shudder with cold.
