Chapter 595: Mass-Energy Equation

Ace nodded to everyone and said calmly: “There’s no need to worry. The strange barrier around Salia is magic that I deployed.”

Everyone’s worries lessened considerably. Thoth bowed slightly and asked politely: “Please forgive my presumption, but may I know why Your Holiness the Main God deployed this maze-like magic?”

Ace narrowed His eyes slightly, revealing a hint of cold light: “To protect the Salia region, and also to protect everyone present here. I have done something that has thrown the gods into a panic. Whether it’s the Kaya Gods or the United Gods, it’s possible they will all rise up and attack.”

The members of the Supreme Council were greatly shocked. What exactly had Ace done that would cause the gods to rise up and attack? For a moment, they felt the maze barrier outside wasn’t too sturdy either.

Ace didn’t keep them in suspense, stating directly: “I have spread the main trunk of the Magic Net across the entire inner side of the world. Now, within a few days, I will use the Magic Net to thoroughly fill the entire inner side of the world, including the Reflection World.”

Besides Thoth, the other wizards of the Supreme Council all recalled the structure of the Wizard World Cluster. In the Wizard World Cluster, the Magic Net was an inseparable part of the entire world, like an extremely vital organ of the world, dredging all the supernatural energy of the world.

“You want to densely cover the entire inner side of the world with the Magic Net? This is truly a crazy idea. If it can succeed, then…”

Betty couldn’t help but speak out. Halfway through, she realized Thoth didn’t know about the Wizard World Cluster, so she stopped talking.

But in her heart, Betty was imagining: if He truly could densely cover the entire inner side of the world, or even the entire Kaya World, with the Magic Net, perhaps Ace could rely on this to become a new Titan Main God.

Controlling the supernatural energy channels of the entire world—such authority was absolutely worthy of a Titan Divine Throne.

It was just that Ace’s desire to spread the Magic Net across the entire world faced many difficulties. The deities on the inner side of the world would probably subconsciously destroy it, or even lay siege to it. As for the outer side of the world, setting aside whether the other Level 6 existences would allow a brand-new Level 6 to be born, under the Godfall Storm alone, the Magic Net could not exist on the outer side of the world.

Seeing that the wizards all seemed to understand something, Thoth couldn’t help but ask: “Respected Your Holiness the Main God, may I ask what the Magic Net is?”

Ace looked at Thoth and said composedly: “The so-called Magic Net is a kind of channel. If the Magic Net densely covers the entire inner side of the world, then no matter who it is, anyone wanting to draw supernatural power will need to go through the Magic Net.

“This is a mutually beneficial matter. As long as the gods make a vow with Me, every deity and Their Kin can use the Magic Net as a channel, and the energy loss will be smaller.”

Thoth nodded, His expression solemn as He said: “But, if They are hostile to us, You can also use the Magic Net to sanction Them, correct?”

Ace smiled and said: “Sanctions are indeed possible. However, any existence Level 3 and above can completely draw mana on their own, or independently collect the power of faith or the power of destiny.

“This kind of sanction only makes it troublesome for them; it cannot fundamentally isolate them from supernatural power.”

Thoth’s expression relaxed slightly, and He said: “If that is the case, then as long as the wood is already made into a boat [1], there is a high probability the Kaya Gods will not object. But the Outer Gods are hard to say. If You trust me, I am willing to go and lobby several Main Gods among the Kaya Gods who are currently on the inner side of the world. It’s just that You must agree to make vows with Them.”

The corners of Ace’s mouth curled up slightly. He wasn’t worried about the gods’ sabotage, let alone the gods laying siege to the Dream Star. But if He could unite the deities who should inherently be united, then there was no need to make enemies of the whole world.

“I authorize you. Take this Magic Net Mutual Benefit Vow and negotiate with the gods. Articles four, and five through nine within it are floating clauses; you can adjust them within your scope of authority.

“In short, the fewer concessions our side makes, the more Divine Power Essence converted by the Magic Net you can obtain, for a term of ten thousand years.”

Ace’s words made Thoth’s eyes light up. Without hesitation, He grabbed the misty, dream-like Book of Contracts Ace handed Him and said loudly: “I will definitely do everything in my power to fight for the Main God’s interests.”

Taking Thoth’s true body with Him, Ace leaped to the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm in an instant, and then descended to the third dimension. Thoth only felt the world spinning. When He slowly regained His senses, His eyes were full of shock.

Looking around again, it was already a vast ocean. Ace’s figure had already disappeared.

“Must one leap to the fourth dimension and then return to the third dimension to escape this maze barrier? Or rather… to actually be able to enter the fourth dimension during the Godfall Storm simply surpasses a god’s comprehension. Is this the power of magic?

“Or rather, is this the power of relativity?”

At this moment, Thoth felt His whole body trembling. He spent some time adjusting His mindset, then chose a direction and began His lobbying journey.

Inside the floating city, Ace descended again from the fourth dimension. This time He did not return to the Starry Sky Hall. Having already explained to and appeased the members of the Supreme Council, He didn’t need to worry about the rest of the matters.

The next day, Ace organized an academic report in the Central High Tower, recounting the theoretical results of relativity to those at Golden Wizard rank and above.

A young Golden Wizard stood up and raised a question: “Respected Your Excellency Grand Speaker, since the speed of light is constant and cannot be exceeded, then I have a question. According to the Second Law of Magical Mechanics, suppose there is a wizard with sufficient mana and spell models supporting him to be continuously pushed in flight by mana. His speed will become greater and greater. One day, he will reach the speed of light, and subsequently exceed the speed of light.”

Ace said straightforwardly: “Impossible. Because as speed becomes greater and greater, mass will also become greater and greater. The increase in mass conforms to the Blania Transformation. If the same acceleration is maintained, the traction force required will become greater and greater. When the wizard flies close to the speed of light, the energy required will be infinite. This is clearly something a wizard of any level cannot achieve.”

Ace’s answer solved this problem but brought new ones. In the original system, both mass and energy were neither created nor destroyed. Although they could be converted, both were conserved. Energy and mass were two attributes of matter, having no relation to each other. And now, Ace explicitly told everyone that they were related.

A flash of light streaked across Ace’s mind like lightning. He left the lecture hall, returned to His study, unrolled a magic parchment scroll, and wrote the title on it: Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon Its Energy-Content?

Meanwhile, Thoth had also arrived at the city-state of the first ordinary Main God and began His lobbying.

“Respected Your Holiness Alsallu, You are the Sovereign of the Harvest. May Your radiance forever bless this land. I am the son of the Lady of the Night, the God of Arithmetic, Thoth. I come on behalf of His Holiness Ace, the Sovereign of Dreams. He entrusted me to convey His greetings to You.”

Dressed in a white robe, Thoth performed a divine salute elegantly. This was a tall and magnificent temple. The projections of several deities sat on the divine seats on the left and right. In the very center was a tall male deity. He looked like an industrious farmer. He was exactly the God of the Harvest, Alsallu.

“Welcome, Your Holiness Thoth. I also entrust you to convey my greetings to His Holiness Ace.”

Alsallu was aware of what the gods had been discussing recently. The Outer Gods had already gathered and were itching for action, while the opinions of the Kaya Gods were divided. Without the guidance of the Titan Main Gods, there was ultimately no unified action, and the gods chose to spectate.

Regarding that wondrous silken net permeating recently, Alsallu also had some understanding. That thing seemed to be able to dredge the supernatural power of a region, to the point that existences below Legendary Hero even had to pass through that net to draw mana.

“Our Holiness Ace discovered a great law, the Law of the Magic Net. This law is very compatible with Kaya…”

Just as He was speaking, the entire world began to shake violently. The Outer Gods in the Reflection World had already gathered in massive numbers. Through their strongholds on the ground, they instantly appeared on the surface, charging straight towards the Dream Star.

The Kaya Gods were somewhat vigilant. Alsallu, who was talking with Thoth, urgently suspended the conversation and led His subordinate gods and allied gods outside.

“The Outer Gods seem to be going to attack the Dream Star and cut off the source of the Magic Net.”

“What should we do? Should we go help?”

“This Sovereign of Dreams acted privately without the approval of the Titan Main Gods. Us not kicking Him while He’s down is already excellent.”

“Spectate and stay vigilant. It’s a good opportunity to see the strength of the Outer Gods.”

The Kaya Gods chose to spectate. It wasn’t surprising; after all, even if the Magic Net succeeded, it wouldn’t necessarily bring Them many benefits. And without the support of the Titan Main Gods, it was very normal for the gods to choose neutrality.

Thoth was somewhat anxious. He looked at the Outer Gods flying into the sky, feeling somewhat unconfident about Ace’s maze barrier as well.

“Although it seems this maze requires passing through the fourth dimension to escape, with so many Outer Gods, it’s hard to guarantee they don’t have some special methods. Ace’s actions were still somewhat reckless.”

Within the alternate dimension of the floating city, Ace sensed the siege of the Outer Gods. A trace of disdain revealed itself in His expression as He continued writing His paper on speed, energy, and mass.

The Outer Gods charged near the Dream Star, but mysteriously disappeared one by one. They fell into strange timelines, drifting within them, actually completely unable to find a way out.

“What is this thing? It seems to be able to twist time?”

“We seem to have fallen into a bizarre twisted timeline similar to a Fruit of Immortality?”

The deities around them disappeared one by one, all twisted to unknown places. In reality, each deity was separated, entering an independent timeline.

At the same time, within Ace’s galactic universe in the sub-plane, Divine Power Essence began to be consumed in massive quantities.

Ace’s True God projection frowned slightly: “The consumption is somewhat excessive. This is only a few hundred deities, yet I am already running the Divine Power of nearly thirty thousand stars. If it were nearly a thousand deities, my Divine Power would dry up sooner or later, unless I slow down the spread of the Magic Net and directly utilize the energy converted by the high-dimensional rifts.”

He immediately took thirty percent of the converted energy to replenish Himself, temporarily maintaining His energy balance. Outside the Dream Star, the remaining Outer Gods found that the auras of the deities who entered this barrier mysteriously disappeared, and all felt somewhat terrified.

“More than three hundred deities in a row, all disappeared without a trace. Although through the branches of the World Tree we can feel They haven’t fallen into slumber, we can be certain They have fallen into some kind of trap and cannot get out.”

“This Sovereign of Dreams’ methods are very formidable. Judging from His domains, perhaps it is some kind of miraculous trap involving dreams. There must be a way to crack it.”

“Go to Salia first. That is His territory.”

Nearly a thousand Outer Gods headed to Salia. After several deities were swallowed by the Space-Time Mythal, the Outer Gods fell into complete passivity. They didn’t know that Ace’s Divine Power Essence was already operating at full capacity. If the thousands of deities really charged in together, the entire Space-Time Mythal would collapse because there wasn’t enough energy to support it.

The Magic Net was still spreading. The energy of the inner side of the world was gradually dredged by the Magic Net. The neutral Kaya Gods also began to hesitate. The Sovereign of the Harvest even directly began discussing the specific terms of the vow with Thoth.

Inside the alternate dimension of the floating city, Ace’s mathematical derivation was nearing its end. He slowly wrote down: “Therefore, both mass and energy are relative; both are forms of matter, and the two can be converted into each other.

“This conversion can be expressed with a concise formula. I call it the mass-energy formula.

“Energy equals mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light!”

Boom!

A phantom exploded, like the sun falling. The Great Source was jubilant. Two suns rose on the inner side of the Kaya World, and one of them was right above the Salia region.

The gods all discovered this anomaly. Or rather, it was hard not to notice this anomaly; this kind of power was too terrifying.

“Since mass is not conserved, discussing mass in relativity loses its meaning. The mass we commonly discuss should actually be defined as ‘rest mass,’ meaning mass when stationary, or rather, the mass of an object at low speeds.

“According to the mass-energy formula, even one gram of matter, if completely converted into energy, is enough to destroy the entire Salia more than a dozen times.”

The emergence of the mass-energy formula immediately caused the entire floating city to boil over. Almost all the wizards were discussing it heatedly. This meant a brand-new way of utilizing energy. Although the wizards didn’t yet know how to utilize it, the prospect was right before their eyes.

A massive number of bursting Level 5 rule runes lingered around Ace. He controlled these runes, slowly incorporating them into the sea of rune rules in His mental imagery world. Two phantom spell models were floating within, seemingly possessing inconceivable power.

“Nuclear Fusion Spell Model! Nuclear Fission Spell Model!”

The effects of the two spell models were, respectively, many atoms becoming one, and one atom becoming many.

Originally, even an Immortal Legendary Wizard could only observe the microscopic world down to the level of atoms. They could not observe the internal structure of atoms clearly.

But the Great Source’s feedback directly told Ace that the interior of atoms in this world also possessed a structure similar to His past life, with a nucleus and electrons. The atom was like a miniature stellar system, the nucleus like a star, and the electrons like planets, forming a miniature system similar to an astronomical system.

Through the Great Source’s feedback, Ace understood the two kinds of particles existing inside the atomic nucleus. They were roughly the same as what He knew in His past life, so He also named them protons and neutrons.

Even the Level 5 runes the Great Source fed back to Ace were insufficient to completely construct either of the two spell models. But it was very clear that the Nuclear Fission Spell Model would be much easier.

Ace’s figure gradually disappeared. He had already opened the Four-Dimensional Door and entered the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm in an instant. Actually, even without going to the Four-Dimensional Secret Realm to pick up runes, the corresponding runes could be slowly deduced through research and empirical proof.
