Chapter 629: Fundamental Theory of Relative Mechanics?
In the real Mansus, at the border of light and shadow—the eternal illusory dream—the Throne of Time sat within the Peacock Gate.
This place resembled a magnificent garden, where 10 brilliant suns and 10 graceful moons hung in the sky. These were not physical objects, but the mappings of the Lords of Time’s True Names within the Mansus. Suddenly, one sun and two moons plummeted from the heavens, raining blood across the realm. The entire Mansus wailed in grief.
Simultaneously, omens appeared in the Realm of True Names. People were suddenly gripped by an inexplicable, intense fury and sorrow. The statues of the 5th, 17th, and 18th Hours in the churches collapsed, and their believers lost their power overnight.
The Lords of Time waiting in the Throne of Time noticed this anomaly instantly. A female Lord of Time gasped, her mouth hanging open in shock. “This… this is impossible! We are immortal!”
The Lords’ faces were grim. They knew where those three had gone: six Lords of Time had departed for the Wizard Multiverse to destroy that threat once and for all.
But that threat had not only dispatched countless wizard projections to probe their secrets, it had caused one sun and two moons to fall. Three others appeared dim and lackluster, causing them immense anxiety.
“We cannot delay. We must wake one of the Majesties from the river of time to uncover the truth,” declared Eternal Night of the Midnight Hour, the strongest of them.
Just then, the sky shook violently as a brand-new sun rose slowly.
In four-dimensional space-time, the Ace of the Realm of True Names had finished digesting the Law of Dreams. He had almost perfectly replicated the Law of Dreams from his true body. This wasn’t just a complete Law, but a Sovereign Law of Dreams infused with the Law of Manifestation!
A Sovereign Law is unique to its world. Since the Realm of True Names lacked a Sovereign of Dreams, Ace took the position without hesitation. He coiled his past and the Law of Dreams into a four-dimensional state, forming a powerful True Name brand.
Under the unique rules of the Mansus, the True Name was engraved in its depths. Including Ace, there were now 24 Sovereign True Name brands and 3 shattered ones.
Stepping over the fragments, Ace placed his Sovereign True Name within the sequence of the other 23.
“The Fifth Hour?”
“Wait, what is happening?”
“It’s the Usurper—the ascendant who coveted the status of a Lord of Time! He has taken the position of the 5th Hour!”
Gazing at the misty, dreamlike rising sun, the Lords of Time were momentarily speechless. They could not accept this usurpation; it was a severe provocation to their status and shook the foundation of their rule.
“He must be punished! This Hour cannot be recognized! Banish him!”
“To steal power in a moment of crisis is the most despicable act. We spit upon the 5th Hour! Exile him!”
Eternal Night’s face darkened as he let out a long sigh. “First, wake His Majesty Radiant Sun. We must know what happened over there regardless of the cost. As for this newborn Lord of Time, he shall be known as the Hour of Usurpation. He shall be loathed by all the Lords of the Mansus; the Throne of Time shall deny his descent.
“In my name as the Primordial Lord of Time, I banish the Hour of Usurpation to the Outside!”
A swirling clock materialized. All the Lords of Time present raised their hands. Eternal Night concentrated all his divine power, ascending his dimension for one brief, incredibly powerful instant. In that split second, he met the Ace of the Realm of True Names face-to-face.
Ace, who had just engraved his True Name, felt his heart skip a beat. Is this Overlimit Power? Only such power can intrude upon the time of another Level 5. Is he also a World Controller?
Overlimit power could annihilate a True Name. Ace remembered from the Angel of Holy Light’s memories that Eternal Night had once pulverized a rebellious Named One’s True Name.
A powerful force struck Ace, making his hair stand on end. This force felt familiar—like the world’s rejection, but magnified 10 million times. In a single instant, it pushed Ace completely out of the Mansus. With a roar, he plummeted into the smaller world orbiting the Realm of True Names—the so-called Outside.
Having completed this, Eternal Night seemed exhausted. Falling from the fourth dimension back to the third, he collapsed into a seat.
It took a long time before he spoke. “Wake the Radiant Sun of the Tenth Hour. We cannot waste more time. A True Name was destroyed across a vast distance; it is inconceivable. Although we claim that the collective power of the Hours can annihilate a True Name, you all know the truth.”
“Our woven lies have manifested in such an absurd way,” another Lord of Time sighed. They began to communicate with the Mansus within the Throne of Time, and a clock slowly emerged.
Elsewhere, Ace felt the world spinning as if he had entered an infinite vortex. He was being pushed along against his will. After an unknown amount of time, the pressure finally lessened, only for an extremely powerful binding force to try and envelop him. Ace immediately activated his Sovereign Law of Dreams; the misty dreamscape diffused, and he broke free.
“Heh, another prisoner arrives. Little guy, what was your crime?”
“Did you steal Eternal Night’s underwear too?”
A dozen or so hunched figures gathered around. Ace looked at them, his eyes swirling with dream-like mist as he simulated the Law of Universal Comprehension.
He was surprised to find that these dozen individuals were all Level 5 Immortal existences—Named Ones.
“Who are you? Why are you here?” Ace asked, feigning panic.
“Heh heh, who are we? We are your seniors. Like you, we are Named Ones—immortal and indestructible! Have you also heard the story that the Lords of Time can annihilate True Names? Bah!”
One Named One spat on the ground in disdain, looking up as he continued, “It’s all f***ing lies! We are immortal existences. Even the noble Lords of Time cannot annihilate us. But they can imprison us, sealing us forever in this Outer World!”
“Have you not tried to escape? Perhaps by gathering everyone’s strength, we could flee this prison,” Ace said tentatively.
“Escape? Heh, look at the sky!”
Another Named One pointed upward. Ace looked up at 3 fading suns and 3 fading moons. Though the celestial bodies were present, they were incredibly dim and seemed to be eroded by an ominous blackness.
“This is a prison, but not one built specifically for us. It is a prison for the Lords of Time. Those six Hours lost in an ancient upheaval and have been imprisoned in this hopeless world ever since. The Outer Lords of Time are part of the prison itself; the entire Outside draws upon their power to suppress us. We cannot escape.”
“Sigh!”
The Named Ones present let out a long, desolate sigh. It sounded like an indictment of fate’s injustice, yet also like a desperate calm.
Ace nodded, looking at the 6 fading suns and moons. “I see. So the Lords of Time lack the ability to kill Named Ones. That is excellent news! Hahaha!”
The Named Ones shook their heads. One whispered, “What does it matter if we are immortal? Trapped in this hopeless Outside, we might as well be dead. I’d rather the Hours could grind away my True Name; at least then there would be a sliver of hope.”
Ace turned to this Named One, his eyes shimmering with dreams, his lips curling upward. “If there were a chance to leave, would you still choose death?”
“A chance to leave? How could I possibly have a chance to leave!” the Named One said dejectedly.
Just then, Ace stopped restraining his power. His aura surged, and the swirling dream mist diffused. A new sun rose—the 4th sun in the sky—and the entire world grew bright.
“You… you… you are a Lord of Time!”
“Greetings, Your Majesty!!”
More and more Named Ones rushed over, numbering in the hundreds. They kissed Ace’s toes, begging him to lead them out of the prison.
“We will serve you forever! Please, have mercy!”
“Great Lord of Time, I am willing to follow you for all eternity!”
Ace looked up at the fading suns and moons in the sky and shouted, “And what about you? Imprisoned for tens of thousands of years, are you willing to follow me and break these chains?”
Silence reigned for a long time. Finally, dry, aged voices echoed from all directions.
“If you can break the cage, we are willing to follow you and acknowledge you as the new Primordial Lord of Time.”
Ace smiled. ” I want something more real. Acknowledge me as your Lord, and I shall be the The Outer Primordial Lord of Time!
Ace’s figure was enveloped in dream mist as he gradually merged with the phantom of the sun in the sky. His voice rang throughout the entire Outside.
“I am a newly ascended Lord of Time with deep ties to the Mansus. I am the only Lord in this Outer World with his power intact. You must trust me—and you have no choice but to trust me. Acknowledge me as your Lord! Lend me your power so that I may become the Outer Primordial Lord of Time, split the Mansus, and turn this prison into our domain!”
The voice echoed continuously. The 6 fading suns and moons trembled, splitting off strands of origin brilliance that floated toward Ace’s solar phantom. The Named Ones on the ground also contributed their origins. All the living beings of the world began to pray.
Carried by this power, Ace felt the status of his position increase—it was now a status comparable to His Majesty Eternal Night.
“So this is the God King status. As long as I split the God King status, no one will be a match for the true body.”
Ace’s eyes flickered. The Law of Dreams was naturally compatible with the Mansus; both were illusory dreams. This allowed Ace to charge out of the Outside and re-enter the Mansus.
The Radiant Sun had just revived, and Eternal Night was weak after using the power of the God King status twice in a row. They were waiting for the Radiant Sun to wake when a sudden change occurred.
The Throne of Time was thrown into turmoil. The Peacock Gate shattered into two halves. Ace, carrying the resentment of the Lords and Named Ones imprisoned for millennia, appeared in the Mansus. He split a portion of the Throne of Time to form the Outer Throne of Time and made a loud proclamation:
“I, Ace, the Lord of Gems, ascended as a Lord of Time today only to be treated unjustly by the Primordial Lord, Eternal Night. Today, I have rescued the 6 Outer Lords of Time and over 100 Outer Named Ones. I establish a new Throne in the Mansus: the Outer Throne of Time. I am the Outer Primordial Lord of Time!
“Eternal Night of the Midnight Hour split the world for his own selfish ends, creating the cage known as the Outside. Today, as the Primordial Lord of the Outside, I command the Outside to return to the Realm of True Names and unify under the Mansus. I beseech the Mansus to grant me authority to forge the Outside anew!”
Ace’s voice echoed throughout the Realm of True Names. Almost everyone knew that the struggle at the very top had been torn open. The Mansus responded to Ace; the Outside successfully merged back into the Realm of True Names. The entire world transformed into a binary structure, and the God King’s authority was split in two.
This cruel turn of events was something Lord of Time—including Eternal Night—never anticipated. They never imagined Ace could turn the tables, tearing away the Primordial Lord’s authority and splitting the world.
For the Mansus, the world grew stronger. But for the Lords of Time, they now had a swarm of rivals.
Just then, the Radiant Sun finally woke up. His face was a mask of fear and disbelief.
“Your Majesty Radiant Sun, what did you experience? Why were the True Names of three Lords shattered?” Eternal Night asked weakly. Since he couldn’t stop the split, he decided to focus on the present. He would deal with the Outside and the Outer Primordial Lord of Time once he recovered.
The Radiant Sun had lost the glory of an Hour. The halo of his great sphere of light was gone, leaving only a weak man. He murmured, “It was darkness. A pull… no strength to break free. I don’t know what it was. I truly don’t. I simply lost consciousness completely. My physical body and soul must have been annihilated. But how they ground away the True Names of three Hours… I truly do not know.”
The Lords of Time looked at each other, speechless. Beset by troubles from within and without, Eternal Night could only let out a long sigh.
At the edge of the Wizard World, the black hole had absorbed all the matter of the six sub-planes and continued to grow. On the four-dimensional level, Ace mobilized mana and shimmering runes to twist the space-time point to its absolute limit. It was like winding an alarm clock past midnight; once it crossed zero, it would return to 11:59.
In an instant, the black hole became a white hole. Ace returned to the third dimension, suppressing the direction of the matter surging out from the white hole’s horizon. The ejection of matter from the white hole looked like a beam of light—an incredibly violent impact that left a dazzling “firework” in the void of the Astral Plane.
“It’s beautiful!”
Bayen and the other Legendary Immortal Wizards appeared one after another. Daina walked slowly toward Ace, speaking involuntarily.
Ace smiled. “This is arguably the largest firework in the Astral Plane. Quite rare. But it’s a bit of a waste. If this impact were aimed at a world, it would be enough to pierce the crystal wall instantly. Its impact and sustained lethality are far higher than a strategic nuclear fusion warhead.”
“Lord Ace, what is our next step?” Bayen asked loudly, flying forward.
Ace looked into the distance, his eyes burning with ambition and a desire for conquest. He had already learned everything through his clone. The Realm of True Names was now incredibly weak—the perfect opportunity for invasion.
“Replace the controllable nuclear fusion with super-dimensional mana! Push the Wizard World into full sub-light-speed navigation! We are heading straight for the Realm of True Names for a world-class conquest!”
His voice was high-pitched, seemingly piercing through everything.
All the Legendary Immortal Wizards returned to the world. Ace personally presided over the world’s rule layer. A steady stream of super-dimensional mana was injected, and all thrusters were adapted to use it. The Wizard World sped toward the Realm of True Names, gradually reaching 25% of the speed of light.
This was a great expedition. Simultaneously, the Wizard World’s technology—including propulsion—continued to innovate.
In the Realm of True Names, the Post-Fall War (also known as the Twilight of the Gods) broke out between the Outer Lords of Time led by Ace and the Inner Lords led by Eternal Night. This war lasted far longer than the gods imagined. The uniqueness of the Mansus meant neither side could—or dared to—enter the other’s Throne, as power would be suppressed on the opponent’s home turf.
The war turned into a conflict between two realms within the world and a struggle for the succession of the Hours. Eventually, John, the Pope of Ace’s Gem Order, seized one of the crowns and defected to the Outside. With that, the Outside had 8 Lords of Time, while the Inner World had 18.
The stalemate continued, with the scales of victory tipping slightly toward His Majesty Eternal Night. Had it not been for an external invasion, perhaps it would have stayed that way.
Another 10 years passed. The Wizard World was rapidly closing in on the Realm of True Names. Planet Athena was the largest metropolis in the star field of the 4th Spiral Arm, filled with mechanical beauty and a sense of technology. The buildings here were made of sturdy alloys, and skyscrapers with hundreds or thousands of floors stood side by side.
Maglev flying cars were one of the primary means of transport—fourth-generation technology capable of reaching sub-sonic speeds.
Alexander stepped off a flying car, holding a multi-functional smart wand. He swiped it against a payment code, and the magical tokens were paid instantly.
“The development of Planet Solder is nearly 300 to 400 years behind this place. It’s hard to imagine. While the foundation of mechanical theory hasn’t changed, the rise of applied disciplines like Magical Engineering has changed almost everything.
“Intelligence, mechanization, convenience, and informatization are the main themes of Magical Engineering. The great theory of Relativity has already sketched a vast space for us; we just need to paint within it.”
Accompanying Alexander was another young wizard from Planet Solder. The two had passed the entrance exam for the 4th Spiral Arm University, the highest magical institution on Planet Athena, and were permitted to study here.
As for Alexander’s former roommate, Joshua, after becoming a Second Ring Wizard, he had built a Wizard Tower and accepted his fate with a belly full of complaints, lazily planting crops.
Alexander, however, had spent a decade preparing and finally entered his dream school. Along with his fellow townsman, Goldolo, he walked into the 4th Spiral Arm University with a light step, strolling under the shade of the trees and admiring the rare scenery.
As the highest institution, the architectural style and layout were classically elegant, bearing a touch of the Kaya era, which made Alexander quite sentimental.
The two walked into the hall together, lining up to fill out their specific department choices.
“You’re applying for the Fundamental Theory of Relative Mechanics? Are you insane?!”
