Chapter 614: 593: Troubles
Chapter 614: Chapter 593: Troubles
The Ten Thousand Miles of Sunshine passed through the Defense Array of the G-771 Plane Crystal Wall, its massive hull casting a giant shadow over the port area.
Colin and Vera had been waiting by the berth for a long time. When they saw the familiar flagship return safely, the nerves they had kept taut for the past three days finally relaxed.
“Boss!”
As soon as Allen flew down the gangway, the two hurried forward to meet him.
The excitement on Colin’s face was uncontainable. “We heard there was a large-scale battle in the D-24 sector! The Skeleton Duke… was he really taken care of by us?”
“That’s right. I killed that Black Wizard.” Allen’s reaction seemed quite composed.
Colin exclaimed in admiration, “It had to be you, Boss. Once this news spreads, the entire second half of the Gray Channel will be shaken!”
Vera’s eyes immediately swept over Allen to confirm he was unharmed. She also noticed three unfamiliar warships in the distance, slowly descending under the guidance of tractor beams. She asked, “Boss, what about our losses?”
“The battle damage is within the estimated range, and the gains far exceed the costs.” Allen waved his hand, interrupting her. “Don’t worry. Let’s talk as we walk.”
The three of them quickly flew along the exclusive VIP channel at the edge of the plaza toward the Wesren Building. Colin tentatively asked, “Then… can our suspended commercial routes be restarted immediately?”
“Keep them suspended for another month,” Allen said, stopping in front of the portico of the Wesren Building. He turned around, his deep blue eyes sweeping over the two of them. “The Golem forces will need twelve days to complete resupply and maintenance in Cybertron. Once the refitting is done, I will head out immediately.
“The Skeleton Duke is only one of the seven Black Wizard factions in the latter half of the Gray Channel. The other six are still kicking around. To avoid unnecessary security costs in the future, I plan to take this opportunity to uproot all of them.”
Colin drew in a sharp breath. “Uproot all of them?”
“Leave no one behind.”
Vera frowned, unable to hide her worry. “Aren’t you biting off more than you can chew?”
Allen chuckled lightly. “The Skeleton Duke’s faction was already the pinnacle of combat strength in this sector.
“Morning Star Wizards don’t grow on trees. Out of the remaining six ragtag factions, not a single one can muster a lineup of three Morning Star Wizards joining forces.”
He composed his expression and began to issue dispatch orders. “Colin, Jarvis has already synchronized the list of spoils. You’re in charge of liquidating them. Sell off Kesuga’s soul for me. As for the Necromantic Materials, black market munitions, and rare minerals—funnel everything through the Star Gate channels to the highest bidders. Once the three warships are repaired, integrate them into Caravan One.”
“Understood. I guarantee the funds will be recovered within half a month,” Colin replied solemnly.
“Vera, you can start preparing for the resumption of route operations. Once I clean up the remaining dregs, it will be time for you two to show what you’re made of.”
“No problem.”
Allen nodded slightly and said no more, stepping directly into the cross-plane Teleportation Array in the center of the building.
“I’m heading back to Cybertron. Contact me if anything comes up.”
With a flash of light, he vanished.
Colin and Vera exchanged a glance.
Colin let out a sigh. “He says fight, and he fights. He says return, and he returns. Three Morning Star Wizards… he dealt with them like he was clearing out rats in a warehouse.”
Vera pushed up her glasses, the curve at the corners of her mouth a degree higher than usual. “Therefore, our job is to do everything we can and work hard to make money.”
“Here’s to the Chief Financial Officer’s awareness.”
“Right back at you, Chief Operating Officer.”
Inside a laboratory in Cybertron.
Two irritable soul bodies were imprisoned within a container forged from Silver of Silent Extinction.
On the left was Sara, the “Blood Hand.” Under the corruption of the Blood Law, her soul resembled a pool of violently boiling plasma. On the right belonged to the Skeleton Duke; it was a cluster of Soul Fire formed from endless illusions of withered bones and gray Necromantic mist.
Allen stood quietly in the laboratory, his deep blue eyes reflecting the two masses of High-tier materials.
A Dawn Star Soul possessing two complete Laws was an exceedingly rare sight, even in the Hub City trading market.
His consciousness reached out. The power of the second-stage Soul Law transformed into countless invisible threads, piercing into the boiling cluster of light within Sara’s soul.
“AHHH!”
Sara’s residual consciousness let out a silent shriek. Her soul origin was forcibly split open, and the brand representing the Blood Law was tightly bound by Allen’s soul threads—before being violently yanked outward!
A bundle of eerily glowing dark red light was forcefully ripped from her soul!
The remnant soul trembled violently. Soon after, its light rapidly dimmed and disintegrated, dissipating into pure Soul Energy.
Floating in the palm of Allen’s hand was a diamond-shaped crystal exuding a viscous bloody glow.
[Blood Law Crystal (Stage One: Touch)].
Without a moment’s pause, Allen’s gaze landed on the ghastly green Soul Fire.
Forcibly plundering Laws that had already deeply entered symbiosis with a soul was akin to performing crude disassembly on a precision instrument.
With his current mastery over the Soul Law, the fragile soul structure would completely collapse the moment he made his move. Between the two Laws, one would inevitably face annihilation along with the structural collapse.
In other words, between the Undead and Boneification, he could only choose one.
Allen’s mind raced.
The Bone Transformation Law could be used for defense, matter generation, and biological modification, which didn’t suit his system very well.
The Undead Law, merely from what had been displayed, possessed the abilities to manipulate the Undead, resurrect the dead, and harness Necromantic Soul Fire.
It had higher versatility, capable of forming an endless legion of cannon fodder and facilitating advanced Undead biological modifications.
In terms of compatibility, there were many areas where the Undead Law and Allen’s own Soul Law could corroborate and enhance each other.
The choice was obvious.
Allen once again extended his soul threads. This time, the target pointed straight at the core of the Soul Fire!
“No—!”
The Skeleton Duke’s soul was far more resilient than Sara’s. He let out an extremely resentful roar and curse.
“Allen Wesren! I will wait for you at the end of the Nether River! You will die in the endless backlash of Necromancy—!!”
“A boring Curse.”
Allen’s eyes didn’t waver in the slightest as he outputted the full power of the second-stage Power of Laws! The soul threads merged into a giant hand, vigorously stirring within the cluster of Soul Fire.
After a burst of agonizing screams, the Skeleton Duke’s Soul Fire instantly stilled, then spectacularly collapsed into countless streams of light that dissipated. This Black Wizard, who had lived for thousands of years and committed countless atrocities, was finally dead.
A profound and murky grayish-black crystal, looking as if it could devour all surrounding light, quietly hovered in midair.
[Undead Law Crystal (Stage One: Touch)].
Holding the two brand-new Law Crystals, Allen didn’t feel much joy. Instead, he fell into a creator’s dilemma.
These were high-quality plugins, but they needed suitable slots.
Give them to No. 18?
She was a special Combat Golem focused on pure physical strength and speed. Whether it was the Blood Law or the Undead Law, both were completely incompatible with her combat system. Forcing their installation would only be gilding the lily.
The PX-5 series?
Allen frowned. These eighty-six-meter-tall loyal warriors were positioned for head-on slaughter. Unless it was to repay that guy Victor’s favor, he could consider custom-building one.
Thanatos? Allen looked at the Death God Golem standing quietly within the Cybertron Half-Plane.
The Undead Law was a perfect match for it. However, it was already bearing both the Soul and Decay Laws. Implanting a third one wouldn’t bring as significant an overall combat power boost as adding another Ascended Golem would.
After mulling it over, there wasn’t a single perfect choice.
Forget it, he’d wait a bit longer. Maybe he could unpack some good stuff later.
Allen carefully placed the two Law Crystals into a specially made Static Cube and deposited them into the highest security level vault.
“Jarvis.”
“Present, Commander.”
“Order: Continuously monitor the trading information on ’high-quality Dawn Star Souls’ in the Hub City market and the Association’s trading market. If there are any that meet the criteria, place an order automatically.”
“Understood. The task has been added to the highest priority.”
Allen turned around and walked over to the giant holographic Star Map. The vast area representing the latter half of the Gray Channel had been marked in red by him. These were the places he was about to conquer one by one.
The production lines for Cybertron Red Lotus Demon Missiles, Magic Battery Packs, and PX-series Golem replacement modules were operating at overdrive.
He couldn’t wait to go acquire the next batch of raw materials.
