Chapter 93: Chapter 93

Throughout the entire day, Ron didn’t let up at all. He busied himself back and forth on the construction site, even momentarily forgetting his original goal of exploring his body’s limits.

But precisely because of such wholehearted immersion, by the time he returned home at night, his body felt unusually exhausted, yet his mind was exceptionally clear. It felt just like the first hot bath he had taken after recovering from his previous illness.

That crystal-clear transparency, flowing from body to mind, made Ron realize he had probably stumbled onto the right approach by accident. Exploring his body’s limits certainly required his conscious awareness of what to do, but more importantly, it required letting his subconscious know.

During this entire day of manual labor, although his conscious mind still lacked a complete understanding of himself, his subconscious had perceived a great deal and even began to actively cooperate with his conscious mind.

And when he withdrew his consciousness from his body, that sense of transparency grew stronger and stronger. Only then did he discover that his subconscious actually only branched out when he was fully immersed in his physical body.

When he returned to his true Light Orb form, all of his consciousness was intrinsically unified. It was merely that after extracting his consciousness from his body, his perception of that physical form diminished.

The so-called “subconscious” was essentially nothing more than the conscious mind not being powerful enough to directly control the body’s underlying tissues and functions, which was why a subconscious had to branch off to handle the control.

In a manner of speaking, the conscious mind was the general, while the subconscious consisted of the individual soldiers. It was difficult for the general to directly reach the soldiers; what the soldiers were thinking could only be relayed to the general through a tiered chain of command, which corresponded to the body’s various functional tissues.

Correspondingly, it was equally difficult for the soldiers to have a thorough understanding of the entire army’s big picture.

Right now, what Ron needed to do was to let his conscious mind, this general, fully grasp the thoughts of every soldier, while simultaneously allowing every soldier to gain a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the army they belonged to, namely, the body.

Then, after returning to his true Light Orb form, the two sides would fully communicate and integrate until they reached a consensus.

This would allow his consciousness to adapt to his rapidly strengthening body in the shortest time possible, thereby accelerating the speed of subsequent enhancements.

Of course, during this process, Ron didn’t need to deliberately do anything. He simply needed to fully exert his physical strength, or even overdraft it, before withdrawing his consciousness from his body.

It was just that simple and brutal, yet compared to others, his method was incredibly efficient.

Having not checked his own status for two days, Ron discovered that his Whole-Body Force progress had already reached 82%, bringing him extremely close to becoming a Formal Knight.

His physical enhancement progress had also reached 23%. However, the accuracy of this data was limited and served more as a reference. Furthermore, whether or not it reached one hundred percent wouldn’t affect his advancement to Knight.

But judging purely from the growth of the data itself, his physical enhancement speed was still quite slow. At the very least, compared to his Whole-Body Force progress, it lagged behind by more than just a little.

But if he compared himself to others, those in the territory who could advance to Knight generally took two to three years, with an extreme minority taking only one to two years.

Extrapolating from his current data, without improving his Breathing Technique or using more Ignition Potions, Ron estimated that he would need at least another half a year before he could possibly enhance his body to the Knight level.

However, before that point, he should have already successfully advanced to Knight, which meant his enhancement speed could continue to increase.

As for the others, their bodies would generally strengthen to the Knight level first. Afterward, they would be unable to continue improving due to the limits of their Breathing Technique. Following that, they would constantly practice their Whole-Body Force, using a slow and steady grinding process to reach a state of perfect Combined Force, thereby advancing to Knight.

In other words, there were indeed many “quasi-Knights” within the Territory Guard. They had already reached the Knight standard in terms of physical fitness, perhaps even exceeding it, and were only lacking in their Whole-Body Force state.

Under these circumstances, no matter how strong their physical fitness was, they couldn’t be considered Formal Knights. When facing a Formal Knight one-on-one, it was almost impossible for them to emerge victorious.

…

As for his Mental Combined Force progress, Ron speculated that this might be related to achieving the Senior Knight rank. Previously, he had just casually logged this metric.

It was originally used to observe the relationship between his Mental Combined Force progress and the external pressure he perceived. But after having an in-depth conversation with Instructor Morris, even though the other man hadn’t stated it explicitly, Ron could still deduce quite a few key pieces of information.

Moreover, looking at it purely from the perspective of physical and mental symmetry, Mental Combined Force was bound to possess some special effects.

Ron had no idea what the Mental Combined Force progress of others was. This was a metric known only to him, the so-called “knowing it in one’s own heart.” Whether 55% was high or low, he had no way of judging.

But for now, this progress wouldn’t affect his advancement to Knight.

Furthermore, after completing today’s exploration of his body’s limits, he discovered that his Mental Combined Force state had also grown significantly compared to before. This was likely the mutual accomplishment of body and mind.

The 【Bloodline Development】 entry was newly added data. Ron’s current understanding of bloodlines was limited, so the so-called 1% progress was just a casually fabricated placeholder. He would only update the data once he understood bloodlines sufficiently.

…

After reviewing his status progress panel, a slow sense of fulfillment welled up in Ron’s heart. Every bit of his progress had been achieved step by step through his own hard work.

He might have achieved some of it by relying on the uniqueness of his true form, but to his truest inner self, none of his efforts were discounted in the slightest.

After a moment of thought, he added another entry to his progress panel:

【Total Pollution Secret Patterns】

This metric originally didn’t need to be included in his statistics. After all, he previously had absolutely no method of reducing his total Pollution Secret Patterns, so tracking it held little meaning. It felt more like a countdown to his death, and an increasingly fast one at that.

But now, after confirming that the Radiant Maxims could thoroughly purge Pollution Secret Patterns from his body, this data finally held meaning.

Even if it was still a death countdown, he could now dial it back by plus one second using the power of the Radiant Maxims, an experience that was fundamentally different from before.
