Chapter 509: Start Sprinting!

Above Red Roy City, thick cotton-white clouds layered like cotton candy, with clean sunlight casting a faint brightness upon them. Every inch of white cloud shimmered with a crystalline glow under the refraction of dense water elements.

However, as three figures instantly flew past, the cotton-white clouds were torn open, and the clean water vapor quickly dispersed. The faint purple and golden afterimages further split the circular cloud layer, making it resemble a terrifying pupil. The once leisurely white clouds now appeared like a stern vertical pupil glaring down at Red Roy City below!

“Alright, this is the place!”

Floating within the clouds ten thousand meters above, the faint purple kinetic energy around Punk effortlessly repelled every trace of water vapor. Ignoring the surging water elements clashing with the kinetic energy around him, he gazed down at the city that seemed no larger than a palm—Red Roy City, situated at the center of a vast plain.

“Hey, hey, did the prophecy only reveal the location of one Godchild this time? And this place is quite a distance from the Red Sand Sea. I’m completely unfamiliar with this region, and my forces haven’t infiltrated here at all. If all four Godchildren we’re searching for are in such unfamiliar territory, it’ll be troublesome. Can’t that ‘Bird of Filth’ throw in some extra information?”

Standing beside Punk, Kane waved away the gathering clouds and shook his head with a bitter smile. It was clear the knight disliked adventures with little prior investigation, as insufficient preparation meant unpredictable risks. On a quest to find divine bloodlines, the last thing one needed was unforeseen surprises.

Punk had no interest in entertaining Kane’s questions. He merely rolled his eyes and retorted, “If you want extra information, go ask the Bird of Filth yourself. I’ll admit defeat if it gives you even half a word more, how about that?”

“Hey, hey, hey, you… You’re the spellcaster responsible for the prophecy! Incomplete information is detrimental to both of us, isn’t it?”

Kane was already displeased with this “blind” operation, and upon hearing Punk’s sarcasm, the defiant knight couldn’t help but argue back.

Seeing Punk and Kane on the verge of another quarrel, the Magic Raven Vector helplessly covered its head with its wings. Meanwhile, “Smile,” carefully floating within Punk’s spell to enjoy the sensation of flight, felt compelled to intervene: “You two, really… We’ve already traveled thousands of miles to reach our destination. I can feel it—something down in that city is calling to me. This prophecy wasn’t wrong!”

With a subtle, greedy glance toward Red Roy City directly below, a distinct bloodlust flashed in Smile’s pupils—her divine bloodline, nearing its fragmented counterpart, yearned for completion and fusion!

Calmly observing the eager Smile, Punk also ceased his argument with Kane. The bloodline of the gods possesses extraordinary concealment characteristics. Those who carry such bloodlines might even be ordinary people in the streets. Forget about a Master-Level mage like him—even a Legendary powerhouse couldn’t detect the presence of a divine bloodline through perception alone. Only the manifestation of a “Godchild” like “Smile,” who yearns for bloodline fusion, serves as the sole beacon for locating divine bloodlines.

Now that Smile could sense the call of the bloodline, it at least proved that Punk and Kane hadn’t come to the wrong place. There truly was a carrier of the Crimson Sand God’s bloodline in Red Roy City!

“Well done, Smile. So… if we get closer to this city, can you perceive a more precise location?”

“No problem! My instincts tell me I can do it. If we’re within five hundred square meters, I’m confident I can accurately pinpoint the bloodline holder in the crowd!”

Nodding with a mix of seriousness and playfulness, Smile’s pink twin-tails danced gently in the breeze. Her increasingly radiant crimson pupils signaled that this beautiful girl was fully prepared.

“Kekekeke, in that case, let’s just charge straight down. We’ll adjust our position based on Smile’s perception and land right beside the Godchild. I doubt even a cautious National Guardian would expect our target to be just an ‘ordinary person’!”

“Good idea. Let’s charge down immediately, kidnap the Godchild, and leave right away. With our speed, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

After carefully considering Kane’s proposal, Punk nodded silently.

He actually thought this plan was quite good. At the very least, the style of striking suddenly and fleeing immediately didn’t displease him. With his strength, he could easily take on three opponents at the Master-Level. Together with Kane, they had no need to worry about a mere Kingdom Protector in a small kingdom!

The only troublesome aspect of this hastily devised plan was… the major weak link—”Smile.”

Smile’s safety absolutely could not be compromised. Yet, this little girl’s strength was far too weak. Her soul level, which hadn’t even reached Formal-Level, couldn’t withstand Formal-Level defensive spells. Even the slightest ripple of combat in the city or an attack from a Formal-Level professional could instantly kill this promising “Godchild.” For this situation, Punk had to take every possible precaution.

After a moment’s thought, Punk silently grabbed Vector from his shoulder and tossed her toward Smile.

“Gaa?”

“Shut up! Vector, once Smile identifies the Godchild, stay alert. If a fight breaks out, you must block all attacks that might affect Smile!”

Pausing briefly, Punk layered several defensive spells onto Vector.

“If necessary, use yourself as a shield for Smile! Understood?”To ensure absolute safety, Punk had temporarily lent his strongest defensive measure to “Smile.” After all, Vector possessed strength comparable to a Formal-Level combatant, and its “Legendary Conjuration Spell—Directional Interference” was an utterly insurmountable existence below the Legendary level. With this, as long as Smile wasn’t targeted by dozens of Formal-Level experts, she should remain safe.

As for what Vector—temporarily tasked with “babysitting” while doubling as a plush toy—thought about it…

Currently being happily hugged by “Smile,” “Vector” could only let out two caws before assuring Punk:

“Caw caw, leave the protection to me, Boss who exploits employees! You can go with peace of mind, caw caw”!

Even now, the Magical Raven Vector couldn’t resist a bit of cheeky banter.

With “Smile” arranged for and dangers minimized as much as possible, Kane and Punk had no reason to hesitate further. A surprise attack relied on its suddenness, and the knight gleaming with golden radiance was clearly impatient!

“Heh heh heh, let’s begin, let’s begin! The Legendary charge… has arrived”!

With that, Kane—who had already gripped his lance—plunged headfirst into the sea of clouds. In an instant, the knight transformed into a bright golden meteor, shooting straight toward Red Roy City!
