Chapter 512: The Female Knight

“Kekeke, though we had a plan beforehand, trouble still found us… but that’s exactly where the thrill of adventure lies!”

Hearing Punk’s solemn warning, a cold glint flashed through Kane’s bloodthirsty eyes. As an eighteenth-level Master-Level knight, Kane naturally sensed the two powerful auras rapidly converging toward their location.

Just as Punk had said, there weren’t one but… two Master-Level powerhouses residing in Red Roy City!

This situation was actually quite rare. As the saying goes, “Two tigers cannot share one mountain.” Usually, a Kingdom could hardly accommodate two Kingdom Protectors. Even visiting powerful outsiders typically wouldn’t take up residence in another capital city. Yet now, this rare complication had occurred. Most tricky is that one of the auras would likely arrive within two to three seconds.

In fact, to ensure the “kidnapping” proceeded as smoothly as possible while also protecting the fragile lives of “Smile” and the target, Punk had proposed a “contingency plan” while still in the clouds as an additional safety measure.

The specific contents of this plan were: If the Kingdom’s Protector arrived from Red Roy City, to avoid the “being chased down” scenario—which would be most inconvenient for protecting “Smile”—Kane, who excelled in speed, would stay behind to delay the enemy. Meanwhile, Punk, capable of casting protective spells for “Smile,” would take “Smile” and the already captured Second Godchild and leave first.

But… now there were clearly two Master-Level powerhouses in Red Roy City, and one of them happened to be extremely close to this Arena. Once both Master-Level experts arrived, one could engage Kane while the other intercepted Punk—a perfect match. In this situation, turning to retreat would undoubtedly put “Smile,” who couldn’t even withstand rapid acceleration, in danger.

So… there was no other way. Sensing the first Master-Level powerhouse arriving at the battlefield outside the rock wall rapidly closing in on the Arena, Punk understood that combat seemed to be the only option left.

“Tsk tsk tsk, this means the original plan can’t be executed, and even the contingency plan is rendered meaningless.”

Even with formidable enemies approaching, Kane could still grin and put on an exaggerated display of his excitement. On one hand, this chaotic evil knight was genuinely somewhat unhinged; on the other, Kane had full confidence in his own strength.

Of course, even while maintaining a playful demeanor on the surface, Kane’s fingers had secretly tightened around his Golden Lance.

Battles between powerhouses left no room for underestimating the enemy—Kane had no intention of capsizing in a minor ditch.

Although the operation’s progress had unknowingly trended toward collapse, Punk wouldn’t let it stir any panic within him. Unlike Kane’s excitement at facing enemies, what filled Punk’s heart now was profound calmness.

“The plan failed?”

A frosty smile curled at the corner of Punk’s lips.

“No, it hasn’t failed yet. It’s just one additional Master-Level powerhouse—kill him, and everything will return to normal.”With a deft twirl of the “Screaming and Hatred” staff in his hand, the azure glow in Punk’s pupils began rapidly rotating once again.

Just as he had declared, Punk resolved to eliminate the first Master-Level expert to arrive at the arena before the second could appear. As the saying goes, “the best defense is a good offense”—rather than exhaust himself preventing the enemy from launching attacks that might harm Smile, it was better to ensure the opponent met their demise the moment they appeared.

Kane, who had taken position at the very center of the arena, clearly shared this mindset. The knight’s fierce grin remained fixed as he meticulously adjusted every muscle in his body. Though he appeared to have slipped into a languid stance, in truth, he was coiled like a leopard poised to strike.

“He’s here, left side!”

Ignoring the clamor of the Nobles crowded in the arena’s corners, Kane—standing firm in the empty impact crater—suddenly spun around, his Lance transforming into a laser-like thrust as he struck!

“Clang!”

A shimmering blue blade of Battle Aura was effortlessly deflected by Kane. Turning fully, he spotted the narrow fissure in the thick wall before him. Without doubt, that azure Battle Aura blade had pierced through the wall as easily as through tofu.

“Kekekeke, skulking in the shadows after showing up? Let this great one see who dares come seeking death!”

Eyes burning with cautious bloodlust, Kane stared at the crack-riddled granite wall ahead, his voice descending into hysterical glee.

The response came in a resolute, thunderous female voice.

“This is no place for evil to run rampant, scum!”

Almost immediately after Kane deflected the Battle Aura blade, the wall—already mostly shattered by earlier shockwaves—burst apart into rubble. From behind the disintegrating barrier, the figure who had carved a passage through the arena’s stone enclosure stepped into full view!

It was a woman clad in silver armor. The sturdy, minimalist plate mail and unadorned Shield did nothing to diminish her dignified, heroic presence. Her expression was one of unshakable resolve, a stark contrast to Kane’s villainous smirk. Though the two timid knight apprentices trailing behind her seemed out of place, the Female Knight standing amidst the debris appeared every bit the righteous champion straight out of a knightly tale.

And the words that followed perfectly matched this “champion of justice” image.

Eyes wide, the Female Knight swiftly scanned the devastated arena, then erupted in furious, grief-stricken outrage:

“By the heavens, what manner of evil are you? How dare you commit such atrocities against the innocent in a land of peace!”

Her voice ringing with righteous fury, her gaze upon Kane burned as if with literal flames.

On her way to the arena, she had witnessed countless buildings collapsed and crushed by the tremors from Kane’s landing. And now, within the arena, her eyes fell upon the mangled limbs of those who had been seated in the front rows of the spectator stands.Undoubtedly, even with a slightly reduced range of aftershocks, Kane’s shockwave had inflicted terrible casualties among the noble spectators in the front rows. Moreover, Punk stood at the entrance, conspicuously holding the magic cage like a balloon leash, with the unconscious noble youth inside serving as undeniable proof of Punk and Kane’s “evil deeds” for the Female Knight.

What infuriated her most was… Kane’s aura of chaotic evil had become unmistakably evident. Faced with such a vile presence, the “principled” Female Knight found even exchanging a few words with him utterly repulsive.

Thus, as a wandering knight sworn to eradicate evil, even though she clearly sensed the terrifyingly dangerous aura emanating from Punk and Kane, the fearless Female Knight unhesitatingly raised her shortsword and shield toward Kane, who stood closest to her:

“In the name of justice, I—Audreylinda Babels hereby declare that this evil is worth battling!”
