Chapter 511: Kidnapping

For the nobles who had just been fervently watching the gladiatorial combat, the events of the next few seconds were absolutely astonishing. Just as two powerful gladiators were about to decide life and death in the center of the arena, a flash of golden light accompanied by a spatial-tearing shockwave suddenly shattered the roof. By the time the blown dust had covered all the nobles in the spectator seats with grime, the battlefield originally paved with granite had already transformed into a massive crater.

As for the gladiators who had been shouting loudly moments before… they had now become minced meat mixed with mud.

The arena was now deathly silent. Everyone was stunned. Most nobles could only stare dumbfounded at Kane in his bright golden armor and Punk in his black mage robe with red patterns, their jaws agape. They didn’t even have the mind to appreciate the beautiful “Smile” because… the aura of the knight and mage standing in the center of the arena was simply too overwhelming.

The terrifying atmosphere permeating the entire arena made it hard for all creatures to breathe. It wasn’t until Kane grinned viciously and said, “Let’s have some fun killing all these people,” that these slow-reacting nobles realized their predicament.

Disaster… had descended!

There seemed to be professionals among the nobles sitting in the spectator seats. Since Punk and Kane had already made such a commotion without any intention of concealing their auras, a relatively brave noble professional immediately recognized the terrifying existence they were facing.

“Impossible! M…Master-Level… Master-Level powerhouses, two Master-Level powerhouses… Run!”

This was a shrill cry, the piercing voice sounding like the death wail of a crushed grasshopper. With his loud shout, all the nobles who had been sitting properly moments before instantly reacted:

“Kill? Kill who? Kill us…”

Their eyes wide with terror, all the nobles desperately leaped up from their seats. Whether counts or marquises, whether barons or guards—at this moment… when facing the “natural disaster” known as “Master-Level powerhouses,” everyone was equally fragile.

In fact, precisely because these nobles had studied some knowledge, they understood what terrifying power “Master-Level powerhouses” represented.

At this point, who among them still cared about the interrupted gladiatorial match? The portly figures looked as if they wished they had two extra legs as they desperately rushed toward the exits.

But… Punk wouldn’t let any of them leave.

“Smile,” who had closed her eyes behind Punk, hadn’t yet located the “Godchild” among the crowd. Sensing two powerful auras approaching their position simultaneously, Punk had no desire to waste time entangled in this city.

Squinting slightly, Punk, holding his staff, immediately took action:

“Master-Level Evocation Spell—Surrounding Stone Mountain!”

As an earthy yellow halo suddenly expanded from Punk’s staff, the entire arena’s ground began to rumble loudly. The nobles who had rushed to the exits were despairingly shaken to the ground. Nearly all the so-called “upper-class” people present watched in terror as the exits and windows rapidly darkened.”Haha, this is… impossible…”

“A mountain, a giant mountain is blocking the entrance!”

“No, it’s multiple mountains, rocks have surrounded the arena, we can’t escape…”

As the ground trembled, a rocky wall encircling the entire venue rapidly rose before everyone’s eyes. The shale gleaming with earthy yellow radiance possessed terrifying, astonishing hardness—even Apprentice-Level guards of some Nobles bruised their fists bloody without leaving the slightest mark on the magically conjured stone.

Just as Punk had declared, no one present could leave!

Punk’s creation of these spell-formed mountains served not only to prevent those inside from fleeing but also to buy time by obstructing rescue teams outside. Though Punk wasn’t proficient in evocation spells, relying on a Master-Level spell to temporarily block the frantic patrols outside the arena posed no issue.

“Alright, found him!”

Right after the towering rocks isolated the arena, “Smile”—who had been carefully sensing the “Godchild”‘s location—finally obtained results. Her ruby-like eyes snapping open, she loudly informed Punk:

“It’s that youth by the entrance with gold-rimmed glasses and wine-red short hair! He’s wearing a russet silk robe!”

“Found him? That was reasonably fast!”

Without questioning “Smile” in the slightest, Punk merely offered a calm compliment. Then, the long-prepared spell in Punk’s hand was instantly unleashed.

“Formal-Level Conjuration Spell—Mage Hand!”

A pale blue giant hand extending from Punk’s palm crossed over a hundred meters in less than a tenth of a second. Under Punk’s masterful control, the “Mage Hand” precisely seized the collar of the youth “Smile” had identified. Accompanied by terrified screams of “Waaahhhhh!”, the boy clad in luxurious silk was yanked out of the crowd like a duck.

Thanks to “Smile”‘s keen observational skills in pinpointing the target’s defining features amid the crowd, combined with Punk’s precise grasping and reflexes, the packed crowd couldn’t hinder the hunt’s completion.

“You… what are you doing? I’m… Urk…”

Though trembling violently as if stricken with Parkinson’s, the youth held in Punk’s grip still attempted to protest. As an unawakened Godchild, his capabilities were merely those of an ordinary person—his knowledge insufficient to recognize his own divine lineage. Yet… this unnamed boy could still sense a bloodline agitation and attraction emanating from “Smile”.

Naturally, he also felt “Smile”‘s beastly, ravenous gaze that seemed eager to devour him whole.

Punk didn’t permit further struggle. With a slight magical vibration to the boy’s soul, the previously shrieking noble youth immediately fell into deep unconsciousness.Next, Punk placed the unconscious “Second Godchild” (Smile’s designation was First Godchild) into a magically-created Cage, while the spell-forged prison glowing with purple light floated in the air as if Punk were pulling a balloon.

So far, the kidnapping had proceeded smoothly—Punk had successfully captured the Second Godchild. However… gazing toward the due south direction, Punk’s expression grew even more grave:

“This is trouble, Kane! The situation isn’t going according to plan. There are actually two Master-Level powerhouses in Red Roy City, and one of them is already very close. It seems… our operation won’t be concluding perfectly this time!”
