Chapter 376: My Superpower Is Invincibility

“Patron Bai, here’s the Mind Reading inheritance you requested… Where did he go?”

Wuzhi was puzzled. Bai Hongtu had asked him for the Mind Reading inheritance, but the moment he turned around, the man had vanished.

…

Bai Hongtu found himself teleported away in utter confusion.

“You ask me to analyze the teleportation array, and this is how you repay me.”

In Lingxi World, Jiang Li had requested Bai Hongtu’s help in deciphering the teleportation array. Bai Hongtu quickly grasped its principles and taught Jiang Li how to selectively teleport individuals—a vast improvement over Lingxi World’s random teleportation system.

He never expected Jiang Li would test this newfound knowledge on him first.

“Is this a new world?” Bai Hongtu’s attention soon shifted to the Weigu World.

“Seems rather ordinary. The people here appear weak, with no signs of cultivation.” Bai Hongtu had hoped for something more exciting.

“This is Weigu World, where a tiny fraction of the population possesses abilities called superpowers.”

“What exactly are superpowers?” Bai Hongtu’s interest was piqued.

“Abnormal abilities.”

“…”

Bai Hongtu recalled Jiang Li’s explanation about reaching the Mahayana Stage—the realm that comes after Tribulation Transcendence.

“Perhaps you should make another trip back?” Jiang Li suggested.

“For what purpose?”

“We haven’t compared the timeflow differences between this world and the Nine Provinces.”

“Are you treating me like a pack mule?”

…

Peng Lianghai had been feeling rather lost lately.

Three months ago, he accidentally discovered his superpower. Through gradual experimentation, he learned it enhanced his physical abilities—increasing his strength and agility. Secret tests revealed his physique far surpassed that of national-level athletes. Were it not for the impending college entrance exams in three months, he might have pursued athletics.

With exams approaching, he focused on studies, planning to explore his abilities after graduation. Yet as a teenager, he couldn’t resist occasionally testing his powers.

But last night, everything changed when a woman claiming to have observed him for two months approached him with an offer to join some mysterious organization with attractive benefits.

Suspicious of Shao Junyi’s intentions, Peng Lianghai used the upcoming exams as an excuse to defer his decision.

Now, mere days before the exams, Shao Junyi’s proposition had completely disrupted his focus.

“Damn annoying.” Peng Lianghai rubbed his temples in frustration.

Too many thoughts crowded his mind, leaving him overwhelmed. Not wanting to worry his parents, he’d kept his abilities secret.

“Class, we have two new students joining us today. Please introduce yourselves.”

The announcement stunned the class. New students joining just days before the college entrance exams?

“Hello everyone, I’m Bai Hongtu, eighteen years old. My interests include metaphysical studies.”

“Hello, I’m Jiang Li, also eighteen. I enjoy maintaining world peace.”

Two neatly dressed youths stood at the podium, their eyes radiating innocence. Bai Hongtu’s striking handsomeness particularly stood out—so much so that Jiang Li, who would normally be considered good-looking, appeared ordinary in comparison.

Peng Lianghai found it strange how they both emphasized their age.

“Must be my imagination.”

The new students attracted little attention. With exams looming, no one cared to socialize—even if Bai Hongtu’s looks made several female classmates swoon.

Peng Lianghai paid them no mind either.

But fate had other plans.

“Excuse me, are you Peng Lianghai?” During break, the youth named Jiang Li pulled up a chair beside him.

Jiang Li noticed Peng Lianghai remained in a constant enhanced state—his muscle contractions indicating physical prowess at the peak of Core Formation Stage.

Peng Lianghai eyed the strangers warily.

“You may not know us, but I saw you last night with that woman—Shao Junyi.” Jiang Li offered a mysterious smile.

“Who are you people?!” Peng Lianghai shot up, knocking over his chair with a loud crash that drew everyone’s attention.

“Easy now, we mean no harm.” Jiang Li gently pressed Peng Lianghai’s shoulder, the surprising strength in his touch making resistance impossible.

“If we were dangerous, we wouldn’t approach you publicly like this.”

“What… what are your superpowers?”

The question gave Jiang Li pause. After brief consideration, he declared: “My superpower is invincibility.”

Bai Hongtu rolled his eyes—he’d never met someone so shameless.

“Mine is cultivation,” Bai Hongtu said. “Eventually becoming an immortal from legends.”

These bizarre abilities made Peng Lianghai’s instincts warn him these two surpassed him in power.

“Why approach me?” Even knowing their abilities, Peng Lianghai remained cautious.

“We’re alone in this world with no one to rely on,” Bai Hongtu explained with dramatic sincerity. “We seek to join an organization but fear being bullied as newcomers. Seeing you get recruited yesterday gave us hope—if we join together through you, we three could watch each other’s backs.”

“You’re… weak?”

Bai Hongtu sighed. “Of course. Who dares claim to be strongest? Though our abilities make us stronger than most, there’s always someone greater. No matter how strong, one can’t oppose the entire world.”

“Take his ‘invincibility’—he’s still been poisoned, nearly killed by a giant bird, and almost died fighting two opponents.”

Jiang Li nodded solemnly, recalling being poisoned during his Core Formation Stage, nearly slain by a Divine Transformation Stage Golden Roc during his Nascent Soul Stage, and standing one step from death when intervening between two Tribulation Transcendence Stage experts at his Unity Stage peak.

“I see…” Sheltered within school walls, Peng Lianghai lacked worldly experience and found himself believing Bai Hongtu’s words.

“That’s why joining a reliable organization matters—for protection. You’re considering that government department too, right?”

Peng Lianghai gave a slight nod—he had been tempted.

…

Originally, Jiang Li planned to directly contact the Superhuman Management Bureau and explain everything. But Bai Hongtu insisted on this roundabout approach.

When asked why, Bai Hongtu answered without shame: “Boredom.”

With no imminent world-ending crisis, Jiang Li saw no harm in indulging his friend’s antics.

After all, Jiang Li was pretty bored too.
