Chapter 468: Each Showing Their Divine Miracle

As a qualified god, Jiang Li must always maintain a calm and ordinary heart.

“Child, why do you want to learn time magic?” Jiang Li asked with a kindly face, then glanced sideways at the Wishful Gourd.

The Wishful Gourd shuddered coldly.

Those who had been tricked by the Wishful Gourd were all beast-eared beautiful girls, and after half a day, Jiang Li still hadn’t seen a single male beastman.

This time was no exception. The black cat ears trembled slightly, and the tail curled up, clearly nervous.

“I want to cure my mother’s illness, but the church’s priest said my mother’s condition is too severe. Even legendary-level priests can’t save her. Only time-reversal magic can cure my mother.”

The black cat girl began to cry as she spoke, making the Wishful Gourd feel heartbroken.

Jiang Li scanned with his spiritual sense, analyzed the black cat girl’s bloodline, and found the mother lying in bed.

She was indeed seriously ill, likely due to hidden injuries inflicted by demons during dungeon adventures in her youth. Now her organs were failing, and strange toxins were eroding her body.

Jiang Li plucked a jade-green leaf, gently scooped a few drops of water, and tossed it casually. The green leaf landed in the girl’s hand, and the river water, jelly-like and crystal clear, swayed but refused to spill from the leaf.

“Child, time magic isn’t omnipotent. This magic cannot save your mother. When you go home, let your mother drink these few drops of water, and she will regain her health.”

“Thank you, River God!” The black cat girl cried tears of joy, her tail lifted as she kowtowed to Jiang Li, then dashed home.

She had only taken two steps before slowing down, worried the river water might fall from the leaf.

Upon close observation, the black cat girl discovered the river water had some magical power preventing it from spilling, so she resumed running home.

Along the way, the black cat girl faced countless difficulties: beastmen would suddenly dash out to try to knock her down, flower pots would fall from the sky, almost hitting her head… as if ten years of bad luck had all come at once that day.

Perhaps under the River God’s hidden protection, the beastman stumbled and missed her, and the flower pots fell just after she stepped away, narrowly missing her by a fraction of a second.

“Heh, the church.” Jiang Li gave a heartless chuckle.

This was no natural disaster, but a man-made one. The church couldn’t heal her, but the River God could. If this spread, where would the church’s face go?

The church, unable to grasp Jiang Li’s true power and afraid to act directly against him, targeted the black cat girl instead.

They secretly employed various means, all easily neutralized by Jiang Li.

The black cat girl returned home safe and sound.

She called for her mother twice but found her gravely ill, too weak even to open her eyes.

If she had been delayed on the way, the black cat girl feared she wouldn’t even see her mother’s last moments.

She recalled the leaf in her hand and gently pried open her mother’s mouth.

Strangely, the river water that hadn’t spilled all the way now dripped from the leaf into her mother’s mouth.

Time passed second by second. The black cat girl anxiously paced the room until finally, her mother slowly opened her eyes.

“Am I… still alive?” Her mother looked dazed.

She had always suffered from angina, an injury sustained during dungeon adventures, never having the money for treatment, hoping to endure it.

But injuries don’t heal so easily. In recent years, her condition worsened, and the priest’s fees for treatment rose sharply. Eventually, she had to give up on treatment.

In recent days, the pain flared like her entire body was burning in fire, with no relief. Seeing her daughter’s concerned gaze, she always pretended to be fine.

In truth, she was in unbearable pain, unable to speak.

If she weren’t too weak to get out of bed, she would have entered the dungeon to die and end the suffering, so her daughter wouldn’t have to beg everywhere for help.

Upon waking, she found the burning sensation gone, replaced by a rare refreshing feeling, as if drenched in divine nectar, bringing indescribable comfort.

The black cat girl cried tears of joy, telling her mother about the recently rising River God and how a few drops of water from the River God saved her life.

After this event, the black cat girl and her mother saw clearly that the River God was more trustworthy than the heartless church.

The mother and daughter, both catfolk, began spreading the greatness of the River God in the surrounding area, and the name of the River God quickly spread.

Similar events were occurring all across the Beast Nation.

…

Not far from a certain dungeon, Li Er was watering a tree.

“Brother Bear Tribe, what are you doing?” Several deer clan girls returning triumphantly from the dungeon saw Li Er watering a tree and became curious.

Li Er was burly and covered with thick body hair, very much resembling a bear.

He didn’t mind being mistaken for a bear; after all, when he was mingling in the Baize Dynasty, he used the identity of a Claw-Bear Tribe member.

The Claw-Bear Tribe didn’t even dare to refuse him; they were happy to have him.

Using a demon tribe identity to date demon tribes was much easier than using a human identity.

“Watering.” Li Er watered a small sapling with river water.

“Is there anything special about this tree?”

“This sapling was something I obtained by chance. I asked Lance, a fifth-level mage, to appraise it with the ‘Appraisal’ skill. This sapling is the original first tree and can be called the World Tree.”

The deer clan girls looked at the sapling from all sides, unable to connect this tiny tree with the first tree that opened up the world. They thought Brother Bear was being deceived.

Everyone knew in the Beast Nation, except for the Roe Deer clan, the Bear clan was the easiest to fool.

“Unfortunately, this sapling was born too early. When it was born, the surrounding area was in chaos. The chaos suppressed its growth, so it has always stayed this small.”

“The World Tree is so noble that its growing conditions are extraordinary. It needs to be watered with sacred water bestowed by the River God of the Primordial River to sprout new buds again.”

Li Er scooped a ladle of water and said, “This is the sacred water granted by the River God. Do you want to try some?”

The deer clan girls had their poison resistance maxed out and weren’t worried about toxins. Driven by curiosity, they all tasted it. It was exceptionally sweet.

They wanted to drink more but were stopped by Li Er.

“Sacred water is precious and there’s only this much. I need to save it to water the World Tree.”

The deer clan girls found Li Er amusing. Every time they returned from the dungeon, they would chat with him for a bit.

Other adventurers also noticed Li Er’s actions.

Soon, rumors spread that a strange person was watering a tree near the dungeon, and everyone treated it as a joke.

Until that day came when the number of demons in the dungeon surged toward the nearest city.

This was the Black Tide that made the three races shudder in fear.

Li Er was still calmly watering the World Tree sapling according to Jiang Li’s teachings.
