Chapter 631: The Lies of the Lord of Desolate Heaven
“A pop star is someone who sings really well and has many people listening to their music…” Qiu Langsha tried his best to explain his past.
“No need to explain that part, we understand.”
“Oh, then I’ll continue. Back then I was holding a concert—my tenth anniversary debut celebration concert. It was a massive event with huge investments of both money and effort.”
“I’ll never forget that night.”
“The entire world was shaking, the earth cracking open, buildings collapsing, people screaming and crying—it felt like the apocalypse had arrived.”
The three exchanged glances. It seemed the Eight Desolations World had collided with Qiu Langsha’s world.
The Desolation Lords truly couldn’t be trusted—they had concealed so much from them.
They claimed to have only encountered three worlds in six thousand years, yet Qiu Langsha’s world had been struck ten years ago, and now the Nine Provinces too.
The frequency of the Eight Desolations colliding with other worlds was alarmingly high.
This reminded them of their encounter at the Nine Provinces border with the Eight Desolation Lords and hundred Unity Stage cultivators.
The Qian Desolation Lord claimed to have come to rescue them, but given the nature of the Eight Desolations, how could they possibly be selfless benefactors?
Yet another question arose—if the Eight Desolations frequently collided with and merged with other worlds, shouldn’t they be much larger than they currently were?
The three had observed the Eight Desolations World from the void, and it indeed appeared to be the size of only three or four merged worlds.
“Several figures appeared high above our planet, their presence suffocating. Logically, at that distance, we shouldn’t have been able to see them clearly, yet we could distinctly make out those figures.”
“It was as if the moment they appeared, they dominated our entire field of vision.”
“I saw our military dispatch fighter jets that soared into the sky, issuing warnings to the figures. One of them waved his sleeve, releasing a beam of light that swept across the aircraft, causing them to explode.”
“Our nation mobilized the military to confront those figures while we were all evacuated to bomb shelters.”
“Inside the shelters, through news reports, we learned the battle was going terribly against us.”
“Those figures were utterly bizarre—no form of attack could harm them. Nuclear bombs, sonic weapons… nothing worked.”
“Just three days—it only took three days for our entire defense system, which had been preparing for alien invasions, to be completely depleted, while the enemy remained completely unscathed.”
“With our military completely wiped out, those figures dispersed across the world. Those who resisted were killed on the spot, while those who surrendered were thrown into spherical objects and transported to the Eight Desolations.”
“During the transport, I saw other spherical objects colliding and merging—those spheres contained people from other planets.”
“I never imagined my first encounter with aliens would be inside a prison cage.”
“We prisoners were randomly distributed to various planets. I was relatively lucky, possessing four types of elemental spiritual roots, so I was selected by the Dragon Transformation Sect to become a menial laborer.”
“When I first arrived here, I still hoped to gain the Dragon Transformation Sect’s sympathy through my singing. But later I discovered this was the Black Dragon Domain Lord’s star domain, and the Black Dragon Domain Lord was one of those figures.”
“From that moment, I completely abandoned hope, planning to muddle through life here. But later I noticed that periodically, the Dragon Transformation Sect would acquire items from our world. After much inquiry, I learned these were all things brought back by the Transformation Star Lord.”
Originally, he shouldn’t have spoken these words to outsiders—it was essentially admitting he had grievances with the Black Dragon Domain Lord, a reason enough to get him killed a thousand times over.
And his investigation into the Transformation Star Lord’s movements was also a major taboo.
Yet Qiu Langsha grew increasingly animated as he spoke, his voice rising with passion until he was weeping openly by the end.
He felt these three were different from other cultivators—they seemed trustworthy.
It was an inexplicable trust, but Qiu Langsha chose to believe his intuition.
Jiang Li sighed and patted Qiu Langsha’s shoulder, saying softly, “We arrived too late.”
Qiu Langsha wept uncontrollably.
Bai Hongtu stood up: “You maintain a karmic connection with your homeworld. Let me try to locate your planet.”
Originally, Bai Hongtu didn’t understand the Dao of Karma, but after the Yin-Yang Heaven Seal gained sentience, he learned it from the Seal.
Bai Hongtu recited obscure incantations, employing the Dao of Karma to pull a white thread from Qiu Langsha’s body. Then he walked out of the thatched hut, reached one hand toward the sky, and shouted loudly.
“Come!”
Something strange happened—a thread extended from the moon-like planet overhead, coming to rest in Bai Hongtu’s hand and connecting with the thread from Qiu Langsha’s body.
Qiu Langsha couldn’t see the thread in Bai Hongtu’s hand, but he felt a warmth upon connecting with his homeworld.
Bai Hongtu pointed at the celestial body in the sky: “Your homeworld is only seven hundred thousand kilometers from here.”
Qiu Langsha stood frozen in shock.
Yu Yin said: “We’re not from the Eight Desolations, but from another world—the Nine Provinces World.”
“Bai Hongtu and I are at the Tribulation Transcendence Stage, while Jiang Li is at the Mahayana Stage.”
“We’re going to visit your planet. If you want to come, we can bring you along.”
“Do you want to go?”
It took Qiu Langsha a moment to process the implications of Yu Yin’s brief words before he quickly nodded: “Yes!”
Seven hundred thousand kilometers was merely a light hop for the three of them. They placed a protective barrier around Qiu Langsha and leaped gently, arriving at Qiu Langsha’s homeworld.
“But how could your homeworld be this close?” Bai Hongtu couldn’t quite figure it out.
Qiu Langsha was equally puzzled.
“I have a theory,” Jiang Li said.
“The Qian Desolation Lord claimed the Eight Desolations only collided with three worlds, correct?”
“Right.”
“Assuming the Eight Desolations World frequently collided with and merged with worlds, would it only be its current size?”
“No.”
“Then is this possibility conceivable—after the Eight Desolations World collides with other worlds, it can separate those worlds?”
Bai Hongtu’s eyes widened: “You mean the Eight Desolations World collides with other worlds, then moves planets from those worlds to the Eight Desolations side before separating the worlds?”
“Exactly.”
Yu Yin also nodded—Jiang Li’s hypothesis resolved a doubt in her mind.
“What the Eight Desolations obtains from other worlds shouldn’t be limited to just planets and people, but also spiritual energy.”
“Don’t you think so? The Eight Desolations’ spiritual energy is excessively abundant. According to records, the Eight Desolations did have substantial spiritual energy, but not to the extent of matching the Nine Provinces.”
“Yet now the Eight Desolations World has quadrupled in size, but instead of decreasing, the spiritual energy concentration has actually increased to match the Nine Provinces.”
“The Eight Desolations World plunders spiritual energy from other worlds, then separates those worlds—this would increase their spiritual energy concentration.”
Bai Hongtu nodded, finding Yu Yin’s reasoning quite compelling.
But Jiang Li looked puzzled: “Isn’t energy created from nothing? Why bother stealing it from other worlds?”
Yu Yin rolled her eyes at Jiang Li: “Alright, we know you reached Mahayana Stage through creation from nothing. No need to emphasize it here.”
Just as Jiang Li was about to say more, Bai Hongtu interjected: “Let’s explore this planet. There seem to be survivors here.”
Jiang Li sighed helplessly and stopped speaking.
