Chapter 632: Flood Dragon Falls to Earth

Qiu Langsha’s homeworld was covered in withered yellow weeds, with rolling yellow sand filling the sky, making it suffocating.

The place was utterly devastated, with broken walls and ruins everywhere, pockmarked with craters left by artillery shells.

There were also buildings sliced cleanly in half, the cross-sections so smooth it looked as if someone had used a blade to cleave them apart.

The traces of cultivators using spells outnumbered those of artillery bombardments, making it clear this had been a one-sided war.

This planet had already become a wasteland, yet there were still signs of human activity.

Not far from Jiang Li, a team of survivors wearing protective masks trudged along, panting heavily as they searched for food in shops, supermarkets, and shopping malls.

Ten years had passed, and aside from specially preserved foods, it was impossible for any other food to remain edible.

This team of survivors was specifically looking for these specially preserved foods.

…

“Hurry up, search faster, keep the noise down. If we’re discovered by mutated beasts, we’re all finished.” The squad leader lowered his voice, urging his team members while instinctively tightening his grip on his submachine gun.

On his wrist, he wore a life radar as large as a plate that could scan the surroundings for mutated beasts.

Every time they ventured out to search for supplies, they took enormous risks, and each trip was more dangerous than the last.

To resist the invasion from the Eight Desolations, this planet had used its entire nuclear arsenal, but it proved useless against Eight Desolations cultivators.

The radiation from the nuclear weapons spread across the entire planet. Some beasts died from exposure, some were weakened, while others mutated toward greater strength.

The beasts that mutated toward greater strength were called mutated beasts. Over the past ten years, human life had become increasingly difficult precisely because of these mutated beasts.

The mutated beasts had become several times stronger than they were ten years ago.

Suddenly, the squad leader’s expression changed. The life radar flashed with red dots—one, two, three… ten, twenty. A full twenty red dots appeared around them.

Mutated beasts had surrounded them!

“All units, alert! Follow the previous plan—the older members provide cover, the younger ones retreat first to the nearest bomb shelter! Remember, once you reach the bomb shelter, don’t leave for a full month!”

The squad leader shouted, his eyes red with determination to fight the mutated beasts to the death, buying a chance for survival for the younger team members.

The mutated beasts emerged from the swirling yellow sand—bears, lions, tigers, wolves, dogs, cats… The squad leader could still vaguely recognize their original forms, but they were several times larger than before and far more lethal.

The mutated beasts had sharp fangs and claws, yellowish fur that was thick and dense, double eyelids that could block wind and sand, and padded paws that made no sound when walking.

“Fire!”

At the squad leader’s command, he raised his submachine gun for aimed shots. The other team members weren’t as skilled with firearms as their leader and could only spray bullets.

The squad leader had excellent marksmanship, his aimed shots targeting the eyes, and he could hit them. But the mutated beasts didn’t rely solely on sight for hunting—even without vision, they still had hearing, smell, and touch.

The wild nature of the mutated beasts had been fully unleashed on this planet.

The mutated beasts’ fur was so thick that bullets hitting their bodies only caused slight pain, and cold weapons were similarly ineffective.

After being stung by the bullets, the mutated beasts grew furious. With a collective roar, they moved in unison, pouncing toward the group.

Just as the survivor squad was in despair, the mutated beasts that had leaped into the air seemed to be bound by invisible ropes, hanging suspended mid-air, struggling fiercely but finding nothing to push against.

The life radar sounded another alarm—a small red dot was approaching them.

“Not too late after all.” The voice arrived before the person, elegant and calm, completely out of place in this world.

“These thick-armed, thick-legged creatures aren’t demon beasts, yet they’re stronger than ordinary beasts. We really do see something new every time.” Another voice followed, sounding interested in the mutated beasts yet completely dismissive of their threat, radiating powerful confidence.

“Stop standing around just to create that ‘voice before person’ effect.” A third voice came through, cold as eternal ice, devoid of any vitality.

“Everyone walk faster.”

“Oh.”

Four people appeared before the survivors.

The life radar showed only one person, yet four individuals stood before them.

The one displayed on the life radar was naturally Qiu Langsha.

“Qiu Langsha?” The survivors recognized this superstar, with several of them being his fans.

But in these times, meeting a celebrity wasn’t particularly exciting.

The survivors didn’t know Qiu Langsha had been taken to another planet; otherwise, their reaction to seeing him now would have been different.

“It’s me.” Qiu Langsha was thrilled to see his fellow countrymen and began recounting his experiences over the years.

Meanwhile, Jiang Li and the other two were studying the mutated beasts.

“Products of nuclear radiation? This is my first time seeing such things.” Jiang Li looked at the mutated beasts as if they were pigs, thinking they probably wouldn’t taste very good.

When Jiang Li first noticed this planet, he had already enveloped it with his spiritual sense. Any mutated beast that tried to attack the survivors had been immobilized by him, like wax figures.

“Whether they’re tasty or not, I don’t know, but I do know if you cook them, they definitely won’t taste good.”

“Screw you.”

Jiang Li and Bai Hongtu bickered while Yu Yin watched coldly from the sidelines.

During the exchange of banter, Qiu Langsha had already explained the whole story. The survivors finally understood who their enemies were and why the starry sky now looked completely different from what they remembered.

It turned out there had been a world collision, and their planet had been transported to this world called the Eight Desolations by incomprehensible power.

And Jiang Li and his companions came from the Nine Provinces World.

Concepts like world collision, cultivation where great power resides in the individual, the Eight Desolations, and the Nine Provinces were simply too vast for the survivors to grasp—so immense that even after meeting Jiang Li and the others, they couldn’t truly comprehend it.

Even though they were similar in size, these three individuals could supposedly destroy heaven and earth—it was truly hard to believe.

“Are they… are those three really as powerful as you say? Can they defeat the Dragon God?” the squad leader quietly asked Qiu Langsha.

“Dragon God?” Qiu Langsha was greatly startled. Although his cultivation was poor, he had spent ten years in a major sect and knew this title carried significant weight.

“Yes, after the disaster ended, we survivors kept in contact with each other. We heard from others that a monster calling itself the Dragon God appeared. Its arrival symbolizes disaster, and to appease the disaster, we must offer human sacrifices and present technological items that interest it.”

“At first we didn’t believe it, until later when we caught a distant glimpse of the Dragon God’s wrath. When the Dragon God disappeared, we rushed to the shelter and found no survivors there.”

“What does the Dragon God look like?”

“A giant blue serpent with four claws, no horns. We were too terrified at the time to see more details.”

“Isn’t that the Transformation Star Lord?” Qiu Langsha immediately realized who this Dragon God was.

The Transformation Star Lord—a Spirit Transformation stage flood dragon.

Qiu Langsha quickly relayed this information to Jiang Li, but Jiang Li showed no urgency at all. Instead, he smiled and said, “What a coincidence. The Transformation Star Lord is currently on this planet—he arrived earlier than we did.”

“Where?”

“Right above us.”

Qiu Langsha jerked his head upward. The sky suddenly darkened as a blue flood dragon coiled overhead, blocking out the sunlight.

The blue flood dragon flicked its forked tongue and spoke in human language: “Humans, produce technology I haven’t seen before, or you shall become food in my belly!”

The survivors trembled with fear—the Dragon God had actually descended here.

“Perfect, saves us the trouble of searching everywhere. Come on down.”

Jiang Li reached toward the sky, made a grabbing motion downward, and the flood dragon plummeted to the ground.
